Brazil Booth Menu: Epcot Food & Wine Festival
The Brazil Global Marketplace at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is back for 2017! This post covers the Brazil marketplace booth’s menu, along with some thoughts on it.
Any longtime Walt Disney World guest knows that the parks are popular destinations for Brazilians, and there have been persistent rumors that Brazil will be added to World Showcase for years. (In fact, some concept art even leaked a couple of years ago.) It should thus come as no surprise to see Brazil represented at Food & Wine Festival.
Irrespective of guest demographics, Brazil deserves a seat at the Food & Wine Festival table on the substantive merit of its cuisine. From barbecued meats to Moqueca (fish stew) to Brigadeiros (chocolate balls), there are a lot of potential options here…and it all can’t make the cut.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has started, and this menu has now been updated with food photos, thoughts on value for money, best use of Disney Dining Plan snack credits, and more!
Here’s what you will find on the Brazil marketplace booth’s food menu this year at Food & Wine Festival:
Pão de Queijo: Brazilian cheese bread – What you see is what you get here: these tasted like cheese bread. I’m not sure they were noticeably better or worse than something you could prepare for yourself out of the freezer. Definitely not the kind of thing I go to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival in search of.
Crispy pork belly with black beans and tomato – This is another dish that wasn’t particularly memorable. The flavor of the pork was lackluster, so it’s probably for the best that they tried to mask that with black beans. I expected something a bit more tender and not quite as lean out of pork belly. Maybe you’ll have better luck–it’s a decent use of a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan, so it might be worth a try…
Escondidinho de Carne: Layered Meat Pie with Mashed Yucca – Again, I expected more (I sense a recurring trend from the Brazil menu…). It has meat topped with potatoes, and is a pie. In theory, it’s a can’t miss. In execution, it was only okay-to-good. I wouldn’t recommend it or recommend avoiding it.
We don’t intend upon sampling all of the beverages at Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival (particularly because most are not unique to Epcot, so you can find a ton of info and reviews of them via Google), but here is the beer menu for Brazil:
- Kaiser Brewery Xingu Black Beer
- Carnaval Moscato Sparkling White Wine, Serra Gaúcha
- Frozen Caipirinha featuring LeBlon Cachaça

Your Thoughts
If you’ve tried any of the marketplace items in Brazil, what did you think? Favorites? Least favorites? What was and wasn’t worth it? Anything on the menu you’re excited to try this year? Are you ready for Disney to start construction on a Brazil pavilion with a soccer bar & BBQ grill? 😉 Hearing from you is half the fun, so please share your thoughts in the comments below!
Not sure why they’d have pork belly and yucca on the menu.. I’m Brazilian and those are not foods we typically eat.
The Escondidinho de Carne was topped woth yucca, not potato. Yucca is far and away better than potatoes. Yucca fries are what God eats when he cheats on his diet.
I had the frozen Caipirinha featuring LeBlon Cachaça, generally I’m not a fan of cachaca but this drink was sweet and refreshing. I did try to drink it too quickly and wound up with brain freeze, but that might just speak to it’s deliciousness.
The Cheese Bread was quite possibly our favourite item from last year’s Food & Wine – my reaction was even documented!!
