Cinderella Castle Backside

Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is breath-taking. This post contains photos of the back of Cinderella Castle, which is especially beautiful, although it’s something a lot of guests miss! Many people stop, dead in their tracks, when they first see the Castle and simply stare in awe. After composing themselves, they photograph Cinderella Castle from the front, and then race through (or around) the Castle to hit their favorite Fantasyland attractions.

There is such an emphasis on experiencing attractions at a break-neck pace that few people really stop to appreciate the detail of Cinderella Castle from the backside. This is a shame as, I think, Cinderella Castle is more beautiful from the rear. There’s so much detail and richness in the layers of Cinderella Castle, from the beautiful stained-glass windows of Cinderella’s Royal Table Restaurant, to the ornate rear turrets.

When you stop to really look at it for a while, it becomes clear that there’s actually more detail in the back of Cinderella Castle than there is in the front! In addition to Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is located where you can see the large stained glass windows, higher up in Cinderella Castle, there is a private suite! We’ve been in the Cinderella Castle Suite a couple of times–check out our Cinderella Castle Suite Photo Tour for tons of photos of the inside.

Just below that sunburst is the Cinderella Castle Suite! Our Cinderella Castle Suite photo tour: www.disneytouristblog.com/cinderella-castle-suite-tour-photos/

Another fun fact…Tokyo Disneyland has its own Cinderella Castle, which is virtually identical to Walt Disney World’s! You can view my photos from Tokyo Disneyland, including many shots of the castle, in our Tokyo Disneyland Trip Report.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about these photos, I took them with Nikon D7000 and Nikon D600 cameras. As for lenses, I used the Rokinon 8mm Fisheye Lens and Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. See our Disney Photography Guide for more photography equipment recommendations.

Your Thoughts…

What do you think of the backside of Cinderella Castle? Do you think BABY GOT BACK…or do you find the front prettier? 😉 Share your thoughts in the comments!
