Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? Hopefully this blog can help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland, have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel in the world, and have dined at the majority of Disney restaurants.
Presumably, most of you coming to this site are here for Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip planning advice. Common questions you have can probably be answered by posts we already have written that pertain to these topics and contain links to most critical vacation planning info.
If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. If you look on the right-hand sidebar, you’ll also find links to other key planning-related posts. You can subscribe to our FREE email newsletter here.

Sorry, but we do not respond to emails pertaining to planning. If you have questions pertaining to trip planning or other topics, leave your question in a relevant post or contact your travel agent. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to emails soliciting advice regarding Disney. Please understand that doing so would take several hours per day, consuming too much time better spent writing blog posts and planning resources for all.
If you need comprehensive or personalized trip planning advice and help booking your trip, we recommend contacting an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disneyspeak for a travel agent). Try our sponsor, Be Our Guest Vacations.
We are just passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences. We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.
Thanks,

Shanghai Disney team,
I had a very frustrating day today!!
I took my son to Disney Park (ShangHai) this morning, I bought the park ticket on spot from Disney official APP, the APP term detail says visitor ID “might” needed at entrance. When the purchase succeeded, a message comes to my phone says visitor ID is “required”, unfortunately I didn’t take ID card with me today, understandably got rejected at entrance when negotiation failed.
I came to park service center asked for re-fund the ticket but also get rejected, I don’t understand why APP sold the ticket at the first place if I can’t enter the park? If Disney can’t let us in, why Disney can’t re-fund the ticket? I called Disney local hotline, got the same answer — can’t let us in nor refund ticket.
It is a very frustrating!! we travelled a long way with high expectation, stand in line for 3 hours, spent money but ticket … … however the only thing we got is argument. Even worse my son cried all morning due to disappointment and not able to enter the park, he loved Disney so much.
Can you please get back to me? It’s the worst day I ever experienced, and the most unfair business conduct I have ever met. My phone# is: 18516223998.
Thanks
Jeek
I would like to know how to get a hopper day pass for Disneyland and California adventure for two adults in July 2017.
Where do I find the date of what you have written for your DisneyTouristBlog?
I find very interesting articles but find many are outdated for when I am reading them.
I read on another forum that this adventure park is a partnership of sorts with Disney. I was just wondering if you all had done any research about it or have plans in the future to possibly check it out. http://www.centerparcs.com/gb-en/france/fp_VN_holiday-park-villages-nature-paris/cottages?hc=VN1002&duree=3&dated=2017-08-11
It looks interesting.
Hey Tom,
I’m not sure if anyone else has pointed this out yet, but there appear to be a TON of spam posts in the News and Rumors section of the Forums (there might be more elsewhere, but that’s what I’ve seen so far).
Hopefully it’s something easily resolved!
Took care of it–thanks for the heads up. I somehow missed that in my regular spam sweeps!
Just want to give everyone a heads up about the Pandora World of Avatar at Disney World. There is no annual pass holders discounts for any Pandora World of Avatar merchandise at this time. Pandora World of Avatar is just awesome. Worth every bit the wait for the last 3 years watching it go up. The river ride is so spectacular with an amazing Animatronic at the end. I will be sailing down this river ever week for a while. However, make sure you can fit in the Banshee ride before waiting 2 to 3 hours in line. This ride was built for an average size person only. If you are really large or really tall, you will not fit and not be allowed on. So check before you wait. Just ask any quest service person to show you the seat you will be sitting in as they have one outside under the floating mountain. They are not that great about telling you this up front and many people waited over 3 hours on the opening weekend only to be turned away once they were at the entrance of the ride. So check before you wait or blow a fast pass on it.
I’m so excited to share more news as we get it in regard to the collaboration between Disney and LuLaRoe!
Hi Tom,
We are planning a trip to WDW in September and we booked the yacht club with free dining. We have a 4 and 7 year olds. I have heard a lot of great things about the YC including the pool area and location. I understand that the resort is undergoing a refurb inclusing all of the guest rooms. However, I have heard that the old rooms are dated and not up to Disney standards. Should be be concerned about not geting a renovated room? Do you think we should switch or not worry since the room refurbs are scheduled to be complete in August. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Just found out Epcot will no longer be having the summer concert series. Just one less thing to do there and there was not much really to begin wtih. My family and my friend’s family go ever summer. Yes, the Soarin’ ride is great, and after that, it’s like walking around endlessly in an oven – so little really to do there and now you pulled the plug on the concert attraction – which was probably the best thing you had going on there. Sorry, but we won’t be coming back anymore. Who made that decision?? Good luck, bye……….
First I would like to thank you for all this wonderful and helpful information. I did just order my tickets for Mickey’s Christmas Party (yay). I do have a question about the Holiday Wishes Dessert. I can’t find anything on your site about this & saw a few reviews elsewhere that concern me. Is this worth paying an extra $79 for. And if I get this do I still have to show up early for the parade & fireworks or I may not get a good view. I’m thinking if you have to show up early it defeats the purpose of paying extra for this. Thank you even if you don’t have information on this. You surely have plenty of other information. Hope you have a Happy Day!
We’ve never done the Holiday Wishes Dessert Party. I cannot justify the cost given what it offers.
Thank you!
Hi! My family and I are planning a trip to Disneyland this summer but I was wondering if it is better for us to buy the tickets online or just go directly to the box office at the entrance of the park. And if you advise us to buy them online, how does it work? do they arrive via mail or do we print them? Thanks!
You guys did a great job with the Free Dining plan updates. I followed all you rumors and had no problem getting my reservations on line. Thanks again!
Hi Tom,
We’re staying at Disney World for New Years this coming year. We’re not using parkhoppers since those aren’t recommended for this time of year so we have specific days we need to reserve dinners at each park. We want a Be Our Guest reservation, but the way we needed to schedule things, that would need to be two days into our trip, making it harder to reserve even at the 180 days mark. Is it possible to reserve Be Our Guest 180 days in advance, or is it usually filled up by those able to reserve 189 days in advance during the holidays?
Any advice on making dining reservations during New Years would be great!
Hi Tom. Just want to say a huge “Thank you!!!” for all this great info.
My husband and I have dreamed of visiting Disney at Christmas – we wanted to go last year to celebrate our 50th birthdays, but we just couldn’t quite pull it off as it was too late to get the combination of reservations, etc, we wanted. So I was thinking about trying again this year, when I stumbled across your awesome blog yesterday. And thanks to all the great info you shared, this morning I scored the room I wanted at Wilderness Lodge Dec 17-21 AND free dining! So very excited! Thank you!
Tom,
I recently had a baby, and I am trying to find a CD that has ride music from WDW to play for her, any ideas?
Hi Tom,
I am planning a trip to Disneyland for my daughters Sweet 16. Do you know of any local basket delivery service that I can order a celebratory basket that is customizable with Disney? I have checked out Disney Floral and Gift, and the packages are not really what I am looking for. My soon to be 16 year old isn’t really into the sweets, and the items that come in the birthday celebration is geared more to the little ones that to older kids.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandra
Hi, I was wondering if you knew if the Free Disney Dining plan applied to international guests as well.
Hello All,
I have a question related to the Not so Scary Halloween Party. When does Disney typically release the dates the party will be held? I feel like in previous years the schedule had already been released at this point, but I could be wrong. I am trying to plan our trip in October, and knowing what days the party will occur would definitely help decide which parks to do which days. Thanks!
Hi Tom and Sarah,
We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all the work you do on this blog. We are in Australia and it has helped us immensely in planning our trip. We read your blog every single day! It’s been so helpful! Love your photography too. You guys rock!
Cheers

Tom – I’ve subscribed to the newsletter for a few months now. We are visiting the park this December and would love to take a look at your Christmas publication. Do I need to re-subscribe to receive this?
You should’ve received a newsletter this morning that had the link to the Christmas eBook. If not, check your spam folder or promotions tab. The link is included in many issues of the newsletter.
We’ve been so excited to discover your blog and enjoy the newsletters in anticipation of our next Disney visit at the end of the year when we’re staying at Caribbean Beach. We’ve never done Christmas/New Year at Disney however so was really interested in your Christmas e-book. Wherever I look/click however i can’t find the link to download it. Any help would be really appreciated 🙂 xx
I just checked, and it’s working fine for me. Did you click the red text link that’s about halfway down the page on the eBook download post? (Sometimes ads appear that *look* like download options…but are just disguised ads. Unfortunately, I can’t control those.)
