Yesterday I shared a photo of how Paradise Pier’s midway would appear to a guest visiting Disney California Adventure in 2001, so it’s only fitting to share how that same midway would look today. It’s all very familiar, yet very different at the same time. While I think the current Paradise Pier looks much better and classier overall (besides the Ferris Wheel–I preferred the Sun Wheel), I have to admit that I think the original Paradise Pier was more photogenic. That said ordinary amusement parks and state fair midways can be photogenic, and I wouldn’t trade a well-themed environment for a more photogenic one. I enjoy photography, but I enjoy experiencing the Disney theme parks so much more, and the Paradise Pier experience has been dramatically improved with all of the recent changes.
