Disneyland Restaurant Reviews
Our Disneyland Resort restaurant reviews offer opinions and food photos from the best & worst dining at California Adventure, Disneyland, Downtown Disney, and hotels. Each review contains a detailed description of atmosphere and theme, plus food photos, and our menu recommendations–and what to avoid. (Updated October 29, 2019.)
There are dozens of restaurants in each of the Disneyland Resort theme parks, and chances are that you won’t have time to try them all…unless you’re a local or are taking a really long trip! Over the last few years, we’ve dined at the majority of the restaurants in Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and even Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel!
Generally speaking, we’re pretty big fans of dining at Disneyland. The in-park dining scene is fun and features a ton of seasonal menus to attract locals. The hotel restaurants and most of the new options at Downtown Disney can hold their own with the “real world” culinary offerings in Los Angeles and Orange County. Of course, those are generalizations that aren’t universally applicable…
For how a specific restaurant compares to its counterparts at Disneyland Resort, you’ll want to consult the reviews. These take into account both cuisine quality and ambiance or theme, but not service. This is because service can be very inconsistent at all Disneyland restaurants. Experiences with service can vary from night to night, or even table to table. It’s simply not a reliable benchmark for Disneyland restaurants.
The reviews here are just for the Disneyland Resort in California. Our reviews are typically updated regularly as we revisit restaurants. If you’re traveling beyond Anaheim, we also have reviews for Disney restaurants around the globe, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Check out our “Disney Dining Reviews Index” page to find them all.
If a restaurant that you’re considering is absent from the reviews below, feel free to ask about it in the comments. We’ve thus far only reviewed a portion of the restaurants at which we’ve dined, as we try to eat at each restaurant a couple of times before reviewing it, unless we feel we tried the “core” of the menu and got the full experience in one visit.

These reviews cover just a portion of the Disneyland Resort restaurants at which we’ve dined. If you have questions about other restaurants, please leave them in the comments. We very well might be able to offer some quick opinions of other restaurants!
This page will be updated regularly with new Disneyland dining reviews. Some upcoming restaurants to be reviewed include Blue Bayou, Ballast Point Brewing Company, Tomorrowland Terrace, and others! It’s also a good idea to searching the menus of different Disneyland restaurants to see which restaurants might appeal most to your family—given all of the choices, that can be a smart way to narrow things down.

Your Thoughts
Which Disneyland Resort restaurants are your favorites? Are there any restaurants you recommend avoiding? Do you agree or disagree with our any of our reviews? Any questions? Hearing your feedback–even when you disagree with us–is both interesting to us and helpful to other readers, so please share your thoughts below in the comments!
Do you have a review for Blue Bayou?
https://www.disneytouristblog.com/blue-bayou-restaurant-review/
I accidentally erased a great blog you posted bout Goofey’s Kitchen along with a site to pre-purchase discount vouchers to eat there. Would you re-post or send me the link? I’m taking my only grandson for his 5th bday next weekend. Thk U!
Is there any decent breakfast in Disneyland Park other than baked goods? We’re going to try Flo’s on our DCA day but we have 2 days at Disneyland. Should we head to Disneyland Hotel both mornings? I’m not afraid to spend money on good food. Oh ya, and coffee. Is it all Starbucks/is there anywhere better? I like a simple iced latte.
Thanks
P.S. I spend an unhealthy amount of time on your site and I love it. Its a Disney planaholics dream website.
Tom, I think you (and this site, consequently) are great. Your heavily biased (that’s a compliment), smartly organised and humorously presented info was so helpful in planning our 2013 trip to WDW that I’m planning our Jan 2018 trip to DLR using only DTB and TP.com. My wife and I are in the same age bracket as you and Sarah and also have no kids so all of you it sensibilities appear aligned with ours.
I read every review in this list and one of the things that seems to be consistently mentioned is that these restaurants change often; menu, price, crowd levels etc. However, many of these reviews appear to be years old, which calls into question whether either positive or negative aspects of each place still exist. Since you obviously can’t spend every vacation eating everywhere you’ve already eaten, maybe you might post when each review was written or last updated at the top of the post? And maybe remove reviews for restaurants that no longer exist?
Just a suggestion to make an already great blog .0001% better. Thanks again for the 50 tabs from this site I currently have open in my browser. 🙂
Just curious, why didn’t you include Ariel’s Grotto and Goofy’s Kitchen on the restaurant list? I was looking forward to getting insights on the best character dining in Disneyland.
Your reviews are great. It really helped me plan and get the best discounts in hotels and tickets!
Thanks so much for this guide and all the other ones. We’re getting excited about our first trip with our two kids, and definitely think planning it all out in advance will make the trip that much more fun!
Just as a suggestion, it’d be great if the list above had the grades next to the links, so people don’t have to click through each one to see the grade.
Hi Tom,
Do you have any reviews of various breakfasts at Disneyland resort?
Thanks
I’m looking for a good restaurant at Disneyland where I can celebrate my 50 birthday with the characters can be lunch or dinner. If somebody knows where can be the best choice your suggestion will be apreciated. Thank you
happy 50th – we like Goofy’s Kitchen as it is less crowded- and you get to dance with Goofy – always fun! They have a buffet that is actually decent – so that is my .02
This information is all so great! Given all of the shows going on now with the 60th anniversary, is there any dinner packages for any of them that you would recommend doing? We will be in Disneyland for two days January 4th and 5th 2016 and I’m hoping since kids will be back at school and its weekdays that it will be a little slower.
Hello! We are first time Disney visitors with our two boys this summer – ages 9, 12. We will likely have (3) days in the park with (4) nights in Disneyland Hotel. Looking for your reco on dining – lunches, dinner. We are considering Goofy’s Kitchen for breakfast one day.
thank you!
Next time your dining in Disneyland resorts please try steakhouse 55. I dine at the resorts atleast once a month and find this restaurant to be the most pleasant and consistently good fine dining at the resorts. Napa Rose is hit or miss and for the price of dinner the misses are hard to justify. We have never been sorry for a dinner at Steakhouse 55. You’ll enjoy all the vintage pictures on the wall and it’s very mellow and quiet. The food is always very good!
Any reviews on Wine Country Trattoria? I’m wondering because they have the World of Color package and it’s cheaper than Carthay Circle. Or, maybe we should just skip the package and grab a Fastpass for World of Color during Extra Magic Hour? Is the preferred Viewing area with the Dining Packages the same area as all the other FastPass ticket holders? So many questions…
Wow!
I just bought my plane tickets for June 2015 and so much of what you show and talk about here looks really good!
My group of three adults who will eat anything and one 8-year-old who eats almost nothing will be in the parks three days with a full morning before flying out on the 4th day.
We are considering doing the Carthay Circle World of Color package to get ideal seating for the show.
After reading several reviews and looking through several more, it seems decisions about where to eat our 10 meals are going to be difficult indeed!
We frequent WDW a few times a year and after reading reviews I usually share many of your thoughts on those restaurants. We are traveling to California in December for a rare Disneyland trip. What would be your top 5 Disneyland/DCA restaurant recommendations for people who don’t get to Disneyland very often. (other than club 33 since we can’t get in there)
Have you tried Blue Bayou? I’d like to know your thoughts on that restaurant.
Yes, we have dined at Blue Bayou. I think the ambiance is exceptional there, but the food is overpriced. It’s still good, but not great. Still, it’s a quintessential Disneyland experience, and I’d recommend doing it if you have the budget. If not, Cafe Orleans has better food for less money.
I beg to differ!!!! Blue Bayou has an amazing view of Pirates of the Caribbean, and there Monti Cristo’s are to die for!!!!!!!!!
Try Storytellers Cafe for a character breakfast – excellent food, ambiance and lots of attention from the characters.
Have you been to Steakhouse 55? I am trying to decide between going there or Napa Rose with my husband when we visit this summer. Which do you recommend?
We have yet to do Steakhouse 55, but you absolutely cannot go wrong with Napa Rose. It’s widely considered the best restaurant at Disneyland Resort. Out of the restaurants we have tried, we totally agree with that!
What have you heard about Ariel’s Grotto? Is this the only restaurant I can take my daughter to dine with the characters? Do you have any other recommendations?
No Rancho del Zocalo? We tried it in October on your recommendation, and it was terrific.
By the way, we followed a lot of your advice that trip. You do a great service here.
It’s coming, I just haven’t gotten around to writing the review yet.
Hope the trip went well! 🙂
Okay. I see now that I was thinking of your post on the top 10 DLR counter service restaurants. 😊
The trip was amazing. I want to go for Christmastime this year. Probably DLR, but maybe WDW. So now I’m reading what you have to say about that.
Just what I needed for my Disneyland distraction today. Thanks for posting!
