FREE Disney Vacation Planning Video!
Planning a trip to Walt Disney World or Disneyland? You can now order the Free Disney Parks Planning video and have updates & info sent to you by mail! We like this video because it contains fun footage and info that complements the tips on our blog.
After clicking the link below and selecting Disneyland or Walt Disney World, you’ll want to select the ‘Sign Up for Tips & Offers‘ button at the top of the page. Enter your mailing address so that Disney can send you special offers and fun updates, which is also a great trick for receiving a targeted unique offer code!
The video provides an overview of Walt Disney World or Disneyland (you choose), with beautiful footage of the parks, hotels, special events, and more. This video will tug at your heart strings (we all know Disney is incredibly skilled at this sort of thing), and sometimes this emotional approach is just what’s needed. Plus, unlike most “free” things, there are no strings attached to this one. It’s a pure freebie from Disney! This Disney Planning video will get you excited for your trip…
To order, simply click here, which will take you to Disney’s official site to complete the sign-up form.
Please note that as of 2019, it appears Walt Disney World is no longer sending out copies of the DVD by mail. The video is streaming-exclusive, at least for the time being. (We’re guessing that this is a permanent change given the rise of streaming and fall of media-based video consumption. It’s also probably cheaper for Disney.
While you’ll find some content here that will emotionally resonate, the fact is that’s not the goal of our blog posts. We weigh the pros and cons of everything from hotels to restaurants to tickets and beyond to help you spend your money wisely and get the must bang for your buck with posts like our Walt Disney World Planning Guide or Disneyland Planning Guide.
Unless you want your kids to view you as a drill sergeant, resources like this video are an awesome way of balancing out strategical tips & tricks on our blog, with something fun. Plus, it’s a nice keepsake…and did we mention free?! (Ha, we’re obviously over-emphasizing that bit, but seriously, how often do you get something totally free from Disney?)
If you are just starting to plan your first visit to Disneyland or Walt Disney World, this video can also be an excellent resource. It provides background info that’s helpful before digging into comprehensive material on blogs or unofficial guidebooks. Sometimes, we have a tendency to presume knowledge of certain things in our posts, and this video is a good primer to make sure you have that knowledge.
Even if you have visited numerous times, ordering the free Disney Parks Planning video is still a great way to get hyped up for your next trip.
We order the new edition of the video every year. We like to build anticipation by watching the newest version of this video, and other specials we’ve collected. While they aren’t incredibly helpful in terms of planning, they are fun, and that matters, too!
Thanks for the heads up about this in today’s newsletter. Single digits today in Maine, and seeing that Florida sunshine was a welcome relief.
Enjoyed the dose of Disney in the video, but I must say that it’s annoying Disney doesn’t care as much about fans overseas.
Thankfully it wasn’t nearly as difficult to watch this as it was to get my D23 subscription delivered. Never again on that!
I am smack dab in the middle of the country in Kansas and cannot use the link with the picture OR the links in the comments. I hit continue on the page and it just reloads. It doesn’t take me to a video or anything. Help?
Hi Mikayla Shane,
Yup, just go to: http://www.disneyplanning.com
I wrote the Disney team and got the link from them. Works like a charm.
Good luck! : )
dee dee
Loved this video. It was a fun escape from the cold weather here in New York.
I really shouldn’t have watched that today. Maybe it’s because I’m tired from a long night, but now I’m mulling over ways to make a quick trip back to DW!
Ha! Me too. Great way to start off the year!
: )
Just watched the video, it has me SO EXCITED for my 2018 DW vacation. Do you know when it will be updated to include Toy Story Land? I love the sneak peaks old vacation planning videos offered in the VHS days!
They typically update the footage at the very beginning of the year, but if I recall correctly, they were a bit slow to update this year. (However, that was also when the switchover from physical DVDs to streaming occurred.)
I would like to order a Disney Vacation DVD for my grand Children to plan a vacation for April of 2018. How do I do this. I have called and gone online and nothing seems to be working.
Are you located outside of the United States? That’d be why you’re having an issue, unfortunately. 🙁
Teresa,
Try this, Disney customer service sent me the link: “For Walt Disney World® Resort videos guests can go to: http://www.disneyplanning.com ”
I’m in Canada, all of Tom’s links just sent me around in circles, not to the free video online.
This link works like a charm : )
Hi Tom – there you are – you do address the problem : ) Maybe mention that “not accessible outside of the USA” bit directly in your post, and give them the http://www.disneyplanning.com – b/c it is causing a lot of people a lot of frustration… Thanks! Lots of helpful stuff on your posts!!! : )
Tom,
Thought you might like to know that I received a DVD (yes, DVD) in the mail yesterday. I signed up several times this year, but only when it was streaming-only and never recently. Do you know if they are changing this back to a regular DVD, have you heard about this? Great news, I say.
Wow, that is…unexpected (but good)!
I have gone around in circles, but am unable to find where to order the Disney planning guide video. Can’t click on the picture, as stated. Doesn’t work. None of the other links take me to any sign up page! 🙁
Having the same issue!
Hi Jessica,
Let me know if you figure it out. I even went to Disney’s website and tried to find where to order the FREE DISNEY PLANNING VIDEO. I left a message with Disney World yesterday, via e-mail,. asking how to get the free Disney planning video. But no response yet.
For Walt Disney World® Resort videos guests can go to: http://www.disneyplanning.com
I just got that sent to me by the Disney team, b/c I couldn’t find any link to click on that didn’t just send me around in circles on Tom Bricker’s website. It was very frustrating, so I finally wrote customer service who sent me the above link and it works like a charm! Just to clarify — You can view the ‘video’ online – it is not a hard copy that is sent in the mail. : )

Can’t “click on the picture below” doesn’t work. No link. : (
Hey Tom,
Thanks for all you and your better half does for all of us. Great information. Is there a way to get the planning videos on DVD instead of just links to the videos?
Unfortunately, they currently aren’t doing DVDs. I wouldn’t be surprised if those never return, sadly.
Can someone explain where and how to get this link to download the planning video, for the rest of us who cannot see it? It is very annoying to read about it and then nobody bothers to address the question when the link doesn’t exist.
Also I am getting the posts by users (questions usually) but I did not yet get any Emails with any answers. Does this mean that nobody ever replies?
Does anyone know where to find a good, detailed map for Disneyland (NOT Disneyworld)?
Susan,

If you spent as much time googling the videos as you did complaining about the blog, you would have easily found them. There’s no need to be rude to the people who write this stuff. They probably have a billion other things to do and I believe the question you asked had been answered above in the comments.
Hi Susan,
I hope this gets to you! I already tried replying to you once, sending you the live link that the Disney team sent me following my exact same experience!
I fully understand your frustration, and it doesn’t help to have others tell you that, basically you are blind! You were frustrated, as was I – NOT rude, and the person accusing you thereof is the one who started bringing rudeness into the conversation!
And yes, It IS something that they should be mentioning, Not sure why Tom does not mention that simple little fact, because I REPEATEDLY am seeing people who are having the same frustration that I had also! No, everyone can NOT access these links, and from what I understand it is because you are outside of the USA. I’m in Canada and I can NOT access the links either! WHY they don’t mention this anywhere, I simply do not know! Enough people are wasting time going around and around in circles on the links getting absolutely nowhere! Finally it occurred to me to simply contact Disney directly! THAT got me a live link to the videos!~ Worked like a charm!!! The link will take you to the option of selecting either of the Disney parks in the USA. Walt Disney World replied to me: “…For Walt Disney World® Resort videos guests can go to: http://www.disneyplanning.com
The online videos are available in English, Spanish and French, where as the DVD was English only.
If you have any other questions or challenges, please do not hesitate to contact us by replying to this email or by calling us at 407-939-7765 and we will be more than happy to assist you further.

HOPE THIS HELPS : ) Good luck! And spread the word about the link that will work for everyone! : )
They don’t send a disc anymore. I was wondering if getting the planning videos online will bring you anywhere with getting the pin code :))) At least I will try…
I just discovered this today as well. Bummer.
