Magic Kingdom Main Street Fountain

Magic Kingdom MSUSA Fountain - Click to View Large

As we were passing through this area of the Magic Kingdom early Tuesday morning on our way to Splash Mountain, this fountain caught my eye. It has long been one of my favorite Walt Disney World water fixtures, but it’s difficult to photograph because there are always so many people and strollers in this area waiting for their table at the Crystal Palace. On this particular morning, no one was around, so I stopped for a few minutes to photograph the fountain. I ended up liking this photo the best, as it captures the fountain crisp and in focus with the Castle as buttery, but recognizable, bokeh. Some flowers are also visible, as are those iconic (well, maybe that’s pushing it a bit) red and white umbrellas found on this side of Main Street.

Technical details: shot with a Nikon D7000 and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Lens wide open at f/1.4 to blur the background and achieve a fast shutter speed (to freeze the water). See our guide for more photography equipment recommendations.
