Morocco Booth Menu: Epcot Food & Wine Festival

The Morocco Global Marketplace at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary…and it’s sort of a surprise it has lasted this long. This post covers this booth’s menu, along with some thoughts on it.

I say it’s a surprise Morocco has had a booth for 20 years without (to my knowledge) taking a hiatus, and that’s because Morocco’s other restaurants are not all that popular. We have extolled the virtues of both Tangierine Cafe and Restaurant Marrakesh (and encourage everyone to try both–they aren’t as exotic as you might think), but they’re just not that popular. (Neither is Spice Road Table, but that’s a different story…)

Perhaps the highlight of the Morocco Global Marketplace this year is the new, really high quality booth! You can see the top of the booth above, but I also took night photos on my tripod (yes, really) that I’ll post later. It’s great to see Disney investing in classier booths that look organic to World Showcase, especially with these “seasonal” events consuming more and more of the year.

Now that the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has officially kicked off, we have updated this menu with food photos, thoughts on value for money, best use of Disney Dining Plan snack credits, and more!

Here’s what you will find on the Morocco marketplace booth’s food menu this year at Food & Wine Festival:

Kefta Pocket: Seasoned Ground Beef in a Pita Pocket – This is a favorite of ours; it’s been on the menu for at least the last several years, and never seems to disappoint. It’s fairly sizable and not a bad value for money.

Spicy Hummus Fries with Cucumber, Tomato, Onions and Tzatziki SauceWhen I saw this listed on the menu, I rolled my eyes at the notion of Americanized fries with a Moroccan twist. That was not even remotely the case, as you can see. These were real standout. The portion was significant for the price, and the slight spice of the fries (which aren’t fries in the traditional sense) is offset by the refreshing cucumber accompaniment. I’d rank this as one of the top overall items at this year’s Food & Wine Festival.

Chocolate Baklava: Rolled Phyllo Dough with Toasted Almonds and Dark Chocolate SauceNice presentation, and a solid little dessert. Fairly dense, but not overly rich. I liked this a good amount. Recommended.

We don’t intend upon sampling all of the beverages at Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival (particularly because most are not unique to Epcot, so you can find a ton of info and reviews of them via Google), but here is the drink menu for Morocco:

  • Casa Pale Lager
  • Les Trois Domaines Guerrouane White Wine
  • Moroccan Sangria
  • Mimosa Royale: Sparkling Wine and Orange Juice topped with Orange Liqueur
