2018 Black Friday Weekend Disney Deals & Sales

It’s the weekend, but Black Friday shopping sales continue on gadgets, toys, tech, clothes, and travel deals for the Disney fans on your Christmas gift-giving list (or, more importantly, for yourself). In this post, we’ll keep a running list of Black Friday Weekend deals for Disney fans looking to save money on stuff and travel to the parks. (Last update November 25, 2018 at 8:40 a.m. EST.)

Every year, it seems Black Friday is starting earlier and earlier. For almost the last week, we’ve been receiving emails from retailers and deal aggregators about sales “starting now” and imploring us not to wait, because these “deals won’t last.” Some of this is just marketing and creating a false sense of urgency, but it’s definitely true that more stores are trying to start their deals earlier.

This is for good reason: the 2018 holiday season is expected to result in a record-breaking $1 trillion in U.S. retail sales, up from “only” $947 billion last year. As spending grows, retailers want to take a bigger slice of that very lucrative pie. The good news for consumers is that in order to get attention of shoppers, retailers are offering details earlier, and at more aggressive discounts. That’s where this post comes into play–separating the cream of the crop from the marketing fluff to bring you the best deals related to Disney and travel!

I’ll add/remove offers as new discounts spring up and disappear. Once Black Friday Weekend ends, Cyber Monday (week) begins. Suffice to say, there’s good reason why this is the biggest shopping week of the year, and there are a surplus of deals for the Disney fan! This includes a few hotel chains and airlines offering deals this year to Disney destinations–some of the prices on those are absolutely incredible.

Note that we’re posting this on Thanksgiving; many of these discounts are already available, but some don’t go live until later this evening (some start at midnight tonight). Moreover, some online retailers are not getting in on the action until Cyber Monday, or are saving their best discounts until Monday. Don’t worry, we’ll hit refresh and be back with another list of Cyber Monday deals.

A few of these things are also on our 2018 Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide for Disney Fans or our Ultimate Walt Disney World Packing List, so double win! Okay, enough babbling–here’s the current list of Black Friday deals…

Best Overall Deals

Amazon’s Black Friday Weekend Deals – As part of its thirst to control the universe (or something like that), Amazon is offering some stellar deals for Black Friday. We mention this because it used to be the case that Amazon offered a slow trickle of decent discounts throughout the weekend, and then went nuts on Monday.

This year, we still expect that to be partially the case, but Amazon also appears to be trying to steal the spotlight from conventional brick and mortar retailers by beating their Black Friday pricing. Cool by us, as we’d rather buy from Amazon than have to *gasp* put on pants and leave the house *gasp* to score the same deals at Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc.

Up to 60% Off ShopDisney – For Disney toys and collectibles, the go-to place for discounts is going to be Disney directly, which is offering up to 60% off discounts this weekend with code AMAZING. There are savings on parks merchandise, toys, and Christmas decor.

Personally, we’ve always found the deals on shopDisney hit or miss, with regular sale prices stacked with normal coupons sometimes just as good (or better, depending upon what you’re after). However, if you find some of the “hits” you can score some great deals! (Our tip: go to the left hand sidebar and filter to view “All 40-60% Off Items” as that’s the sweet spot for deals!)

Disney Travel Gadgets

6-Port USB Charging Station ($19) – We own this exact same charging station, and use it at both home and while traveling. It’s really convenient and quickly charges all of our USB devices. Great Lightning Deal on it here!

Soft Velvet Inflatable Neck Support Travel ($7) – We have several travel pillows, including inflatable ones that we typically use for longer trips to save space. While we haven’t used this particular brand, reviews are great and the price is right. (Make sure to apply the coupon!)

Packable Duffel Bag ($15) – We’re recommending this duffel bag for one reason and pretty much one reason only: souvenirs. When we travel to Tokyo Disneyland, we pretty much always pack a bag exactly like this to fill up with stuff and bring back with us. Obviously, there are other uses for it, but that’s ours!

Disney Books & Movies

Save $5 on Any Book – As has been the case for each of the last several Black Friday weekends, Amazon has a $5 off deal. Use code NOVBOOK18 to save $5 on any $20 book purchase! You can use that for any book, but here are the best ways to stack that code for the most savings…

Thomas Kinkade 2019 Disney Calendar ($10) — Kinkade’s Disney work is super-popular (it’s all over the Art of Disney stores), and somehow this calendar counts as a book, so you could order a couple of these and apply the $5 off coupon!

Maps of the Disney Parks ($22) – This is $40 in the parks. It’s not quite as good as the Poster Art book, but it’s definitely worth adding to your collection.

Ink & Paint: Women of Walt Disney’s Animation ($30) — This book is a beautiful, informative book that’s shockingly large, making it perfect for coffee table display as well as in-depth reading. At half-off after coupon, it’s a great deal, too.

5-Minute Princess Stories ($5) – At 62% off this popular Disney book, you’re getting a really good deal on a stocking stuffer. It’s already temporarily out of stock, but you can still order it (for now, at least).

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure Plus 6 Disney Tales (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital) ($10) – Olaf’s Frozen Adventure had already been pulled from theaters by the time we saw Coco, so this is our first chance to see that. More importantly, this features 6 classic and snow or Christmas-themed Disney shorts that can be tough to find elsewhere, including The Art of Skiing, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, and Once Upon a Wintertime.

Various DVDs & Blu-ray ($7) – Best Buy has some great Blu-ray combo-pack deals, with all of the following being priced at $6.99 in store: Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Panther, Coco, Solo, Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, and the Incredibles 2.

UPDATE: Amazon has matched this price on Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther.

The Complete Toy Story Collection 1, 2, 3 [Blu-ray Box Set] ($24) – Individually, these Blu-rays cost more than the entire box set. Suffice to say, this is a hot deal!

Disney Toys & Games

LEGO Star Wars Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike ($33) – Amazon has released a new slew of excellent deals on LEGO sets as of Sunday morning… Here are some others:

Disney Minnie or Mickey Mouse Holiday 2018 Plush ($5) – Get this holiday-themed Minnie or Mickey plush for only $5 when you purchase $50.00 or more of toys offered by Amazon.com.

Sphero R2-D2 App-Enabled Droid Action Figure ($40) – The price on this awesome app-controlled droid has dropped considerably since last Black Friday, and it’s still every bit as cool. If you’ve never played with a Sphero before, you’re in for a real treat.

Slinky Dog in Retro Packaging ($17) — One of the coolest finds on our Christmas List for Disney Fans, as its retro-styled packing reminds me instantly of the Slinky Dog Dash queue, and now it’s on sale.

Disney Eye Found It Card Game ($6) – A card game version of the standard board game that we normally recommend–and an even better deal (40% off).

Funko Pop Jafar ($2) – Get this collectible Funko figure from Aladdin for 82% off!

Travel Deals

Get Away Today Disneyland DealsThrough November 27, 2018, you can save up to $95 on Disneyland tickets for 2019. This deal can also be stacked with hotel bundles to save even more. (And you’re also locking in ticket prices now before the inevitable February 2019 price increase.)

This is probably the best non-resident discount I’ve ever seen on Disneyland tickets, which suggests to me that Disneyland is projecting a slow start to the year as people wait for Star Wars land to open. Personally, we’d recommend going before then, as crowds and pricing are both going to be insane once Galaxy’s Edge debuts.

Klook 10% Off SitewideProbably the most underrated discount on this list, as a lot of you probably have never heard of Klook. We use them a ton for deals in Japan (they’re huge in Asia), but they have discounted tickets for theme parks around the world. Use code USBLACKFRI for 10% off all activities booked from November 23 through November 26, 2018.

ParkSavers Walt Disney World Ticket Deals – As with Disneyland, there are some tremendous deals on Walt Disney World tickets, primarily for early to mid-2019 travel dates. You can save up to $75 per ticket!

Hotels.com – Starting midnight on Black Friday and continuing throughout the weekend, Hotels.com will be giving out over 300,000 “Mystery Coupons” of up to 99% off–most coupons will range from 7-11% off, which is still pretty good and can be stacked with deals offered by the hotel brands themselves.

Singapore Air – One of the absolute best airlines in the world is offering roundtrip flights to Tokyo starting at $450. This is a ridiculously good deal, and one that is likely to be matched by U.S. carriers if you’d prefer them (but really, stick with Singapore).

Wyndham Hotel Discounts – As of right now, only 4 Wyndham hotels are offering savings of up to 50% off, but one of those is the Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek (read our review here). This has a great on-property location, and for around the price of a Value Resort, is a bargain. On Cyber Monday, more Wyndham properties will be discounted, if you’re looking for something different.

Disney & Travel Photography

Sony a7IIK Mirrorless Camera with 28-70mm Lens ($998) – As you might know, I jumped back into mirrorless this year with the Sony a7III. This camera is the previous gen, and is still incredibly capable. If you want a smaller camera to take excellent photos, getting this for 43% off is an absolutely killer deal!

Nikon D3500 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm and 70-300mm Lenses ($497) – Objectively, I don’t think this is as good of a deal as the entry-level Canon, but if it were me, I’d rather buy this camera. At $350 off, it’s a great deal.

Canon Rebel T6 DSLR with 18-55mm & 75-300mm Lenses ($399) – I prefer Nikon, but I know a good deal when I see it, and this 47% package is a fantastic deal on a DSLR starter kit.

Nikon D7500 4K DSLR with 18-55mm & 70-300mm Lenses & Case ($899) – A few things to note about this exceptional camera. First, it’s refurbished but it’s being offered by an authorized Nikon seller and includes a 90-day warranty from Nikon. Second, the savings are way more than 27% off. New, the camera by itself is $1,150. This is a great deal on a serious DSLR.

Manfrotto Windsor Explorer Camera and Laptop Backpack ($30) – I literally just purchased a new camera bag yesterday, but I’m on the fence about buying this, which is $70 off and looks stylish. (At least as compared to other camera bags–it’s all relative!)

Other Disney Stuff

Pooh Tervis Tumbler ($14) – The design is cute, but it’s the sentiment that I really like on this Winnie the Pooh Tervis.

Mickey Mouse Watch ($30) – I like the all-grey design here. A playful design that’s classy and not too eye-catching.

That’s all of the currently “live” Black Friday weekend deals for the Disney fan, but we will be updating this list throughout the weekend, so stay tuned. Also, if you want to help out with the process, please share any Disney-relevant (either actual Disney products or ones that are useful when going to the parks) deals you’ve found in the comments!
