2022 Disney World Ticket Deal for Floridians

Walt Disney World has released a new ticket deal for Florida residents that offers discounted 2-day, 3-day, and 4-day park weekday tickets for locals. This post shares info & details about the limited-time offer, plus commentary about this promo and the return of Annual Passes, and historical comparisons.

As a quick recap, Walt Disney World previously released discounts of up to 25% off rooms at Walt Disney World for Florida residents and Annual Passholders now through March 2022. There’s also another resort discount that covers travel dates through July 7, 2022–but this ticket deal doesn’t run that long.

If you are looking for a resort discount to accompany this ticket deal, be aware that availability is limited. Not just in terms of eligible resorts, but more so which hotels even have availability–many are incredibly limited in the next few months. (See What’s Up with Sold Out Hotels at Walt Disney World? That offers an in-depth explanation of the current phenomenon.)

As for this ticket discount, Florida Residents can purchase a 2-Day Disney Weekday Magic Ticket for $149 plus tax–or choose a 3 or 4-Day Disney Weekday Magic Ticket. These flexible tickets can be used at any one of the 4 theme parks on consecutive or non-consecutive days throughout the offer period, subject to Disney Park Pass availability.

The 2-Day Disney Weekday Magic Florida Resident Tickets cost $149 (that’s ~$75 per day), the 3-Day version costs $179 (that’s ~$60 per day), and the 4-Day option cost $199 (that’s ~$50 per day). The Disney Weekday Magic Ticket is valid Monday to Friday only, from January 11 through April 7, 2022, subject to blockout dates from March 14 through March 18, 2022.

You can also choose a Disney Weekday Magic Florida Resident Tickets that includes these options:

  • Disney Genie+ Service: Save time waiting in line with the new Lightning Lane entrances located throughout Walt Disney World theme parks. Add it for $16 more per ticket per day.
  • Park Hopper Option gives you the opportunity to visit more than one theme park per day. Add it for $35 more per ticket.
  • Water Park and Sports Option allows you to visit a water park, golf course or miniature golf course on each day of your ticket. For example, if you purchase a 2-day Disney Weekday Magic Ticket with the Water Park and Sports Option, you can visit a Walt Disney World theme park on 2 days with a reservation–and visit a Disney water park on 2 additional days by April 7, 2022. Add it for $30 more per ticket.
  • Park Hopper Plus Option grants you the ability to visit more than one theme park per day–plus, enjoy access to a water park, golf course or miniature golf course on each day of your ticket. Add it for $50 more per ticket.

Proof of Florida residency required. All adults will need to show proof of Florida residency at park entrance. Both a theme park reservation via the Disney Park Pass system and valid theme park admission for the same park on the same date are required.

Here’s a visual chart that might make the info easier to digest:

These prices are actually lower than the previous Florida resident tickets that were released last summer. Those 2-Day Florida Resident tickets cost $150, the 3-Day version was $185, and the 4-Day Florida Resident ticket option cost $215.

However, those discounted tickets were also valid on weekends. That’s a significant difference, to the point that it’s not really an apples to apples comparison since so many locals who work weekdays won’t be able to use these tickets.

Prior to that, Florida resident ticket prices for the first half of the year were $149 for 2-day tickets, $179 for 3-day tickets, and $199 for 4-day tickets. (In fairness, these had many blockout dates–but were also released during a busier time of year.)

Post-reopening, Florida Resident Discover Tickets started at $130 per ticket for the 2-day ticket. The 3-day option was $174 per ticket and the 4-day Florida Resident Disney Magic Flex Ticket was $195 per ticket. None of those tickets were limited to weekdays-only.

Not exactly huge price differences, but worth pointing out. That’s especially true given that the post-reopening deals were not unprecedented–they were the exact same offer as the Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket offered the prior year.

Obviously, there are differences between now and then. While attendance has picked up considerably thanks to increased domestic travel and pent-up demand, so too have Walt Disney World’s capacity caps. Moreover, this new ticket deal is being released during what’s typically the quiet winter months, but probably won’t be the “off-season” for reasons we’ve discussed in a number of posts predicting heavier-than-normal crowds.

There’s also the reality that many Floridians cannot purchase Annual Passes, so they’ll be pushed to this offer to get their Walt Disney World “fix.”

However, one thing to keep in mind there is that it’s likely APs are very close to going back on sale. In When Will Walt Disney World Resume Annual Pass Sales? we predict that they’ll be back by the middle of next month.

Ultimately, the Disney Weekday Magic Florida Resident Ticket offer is the best way for locals to save on park admission right now…especially with Annual Pass sales suspended. However, we think the return of APs in the next couple of months is an inevitability, and that would change the equation significantly.

Accordingly, if you’re in the market for an Annual Pass but would otherwise purchase this ticket deal, you might want to hedge your bets and hold off until February 2022.
