2022 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival: Merchandise, Topiaries & New Gardens

Walt Disney World has announced details for the 2022 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which will run from March 2 to July 4, 2022. This post shares info about new gardens, a full list of topiaries, merchandise collections, how it’ll tie into the 50th Anniversary, and more.

The 2022 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will be tied for the longest ever with last year, when it also ran for 125 days. Disney has extended both Flower & Garden and Food & Wine by around a month each, effectively bridging the gap between the two.

The reason for this is pretty obvious, as “Diet Epcot” season has become the least busy time of the year in the park. In other words, the goal is to buoy attendance when Epcot is slower than the other parks at Walt Disney World. Despite some complaints from fans about perpetual festivals, that’s exactly what makes Epcot popular with locals.

As for concrete details about the 2022 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival, we now have a list of topiaries. This is highlighted by the new main entrance topiary display featuring Goofy and a 50th birthday cake for the World’s Most Magical Celebration. I’m really looking forward to that one–can’t wait to photograph it at night with the Beacons of Magic on Spaceship Earth as a backdrop!

Here’s a full list of topiaries coming to the 2022 Epcot International Flower Garden Festival and where you can find them:

  • Goofy Topiary and Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration Cake — Main Entrance
  • Sorcerer Mickey Mouse, Brooms, Ostriches, Hippo and Gator — Entrance to World Showcase
  • Woody, Bo Peep and Her Sheep — near The Land Pavilion
  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie — Bridge to World Showcase
  • Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale — The American Adventure Pavilion
  • Buzz Lightyear — near Mission: SPACE
  • Figment — near Imagination!
  • The Three Caballeros (Jose, Donald and Panchito) — Mexico Pavilion
  • Anna and Elsa — Norway Pavilion
  • Troll — Norway Pavilion
  • Dragon — Japan Pavilion near Torii Gate
  • Pandas — China Pavilion
  • Simba and Friends (Rafiki, Simba, Mufasa and Sarabi) — Between Imagination! and The Land Pavilion
  • Pumbaa and Timon — Between Imagination! and The Land Pavilion
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — Germany Pavilion
  • Lady and the Tramp — Italy Pavilion
  • Beauty and the Beast — France Pavilion
  • Lumiere and Cogsworth — France Pavilion
  • Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy — Germany Pavilion

  • Tinker Bell’s Fairy House Garden — United Kingdom Pavilion
  • Bambi and Friends — near Imagination!

Walt Disney World has also announced the gardens that’ll be featured at the 2022 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival, with the list largely being as normal. One noteworthy highlight will be a new fragrant garden on the bridge to World Showcase. Surrounded by vibrant butterfly topiaries, guests will be invited to follow their noses to six scent stations–floral, fruity, citrus, spice, woods and fresh–to form lasting memories with the help of unforgettable aromas.

This fragrant garden is presented by Scentsy, which is a MLM company. For those unfamiliar with multi-level marketing, these companies are essentially legal pyramid schemes. As for why a family-friendly company is partnering with MLMs, your guess is as good as mine. At least when it comes to sports betting or gambling, there’s a degree of transparency about the nature of the business. No one is being duped by long-lost Facebook “friends” from high school into getting mixed up with DraftKings.

Another garden highlight is the Health Full Trail, which offers a fun way for families to play and learn how to stay healthy. There’s also Outdoor Escapes, which lets guests enjoy a moment of relaxation and learn how easy it is to create an outdoor escape of their own.

Bambi’s Butterfly House enchants guests with a kaleidoscope of butterflies showing off their extraordinary beauty and colors. Other personal favorites include the Shakespeare Garden in the United Kingdom, Bonsai & Kokedama Collections in Japan, and Prehistoric Garden near Mission: SPACE. (I would love to see the old Universe of Energy dinosaurs make a comeback here!)

Finally, Walt Disney World has revealed the merchandise collections for the 2022 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. First up is Figment’s Garden, which promises to “grow your imagination” with Figment-themed apparel, drinkware and more as you dream green this festival season.

Another highlight is Orange Bird, a returning favorite. Expect adorable Orange Bird keepsakes in this vibrant collection that includes apparel, accessories and other novelties. That Spirit Jersey is certainly…vibrant! I’d probably be more excited about these two collections, but in the past couple of years, all of this merchandise has been way too busy for my tastes. With that said, I know many of Walt Disney World fans love this stuff, and I’m certainly not going to knock the merchandising teams for taking more risks and incorporating Figment and Orange Bird into more designs.

Here’s a list of the other collections:

  • Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse – Browse a collection that celebrates Mickey and Minnie Mouse–featuring apparel, drinkware, trading pins and a MagicBand.
  • Mickey Mouse Home Garden – Celebrate this year’s festival with home garden-inspired merchandise from this collection featuring vibrant apparel, drinkware, garden tools and so much more.
  • Spike the Bee – Find sweet reminders of Spike the Bee on apparel, accessories, drinkware, a garden stake and other collectible novelties.

Speaking of Spike the Bee, his pollination trail returns, where he will “bee” busy collecting nectar and pollinating gardens at Epcot. To get started, purchase your map and stickers at select merchandise locations for $9.99 plus tax.

Once you have completed your scavenger hunt, return your completed map to Disney Traders or World Traveler for a special surprise.

Ultimately, the tentative lineup for the 2022 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival sounds solid and it’s good to see the event returning in near-normal form. As silly as it might sound, I’m also very excited for the return of Epcot Sunshine Griddle, which is my favorite booth at any festival since Flavors from Fire debuted.

In theory, it would be nice to have a more fully-fledged Festival Center, but I have to admit that I really haven’t missed it during Festival of the Arts so far. It’s nice to be outdoors, but then again, I also love the “winter” weather that’s been hitting Orlando of late. With Flower & Garden Festival, the heart of the event revolves around the horticulture, so it makes sense to have more outdoor activities. (Get back to me on that when the June/July heat arrives, though.)

There’s also the likelihood that Epcot will have fewer construction walls and more attractions and restaurants by the midway point in the 2022 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival–and that there will be some fun surprises for the event. (Here’s hoping for a nature-themed Beacons of Magic and maybe Groot and Rocket topiaries?!)
