An Afternoon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Following our Afternoon at Epcot post the other day, here’s another live post from Walt Disney World, this time from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Except this one actually is live! I know I said I’d try to do a live Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party post, but I realized there’s a lot to cover regarding the Halloween Party this year, so I should actually take the time to edit a decent number of photos and actually write a high-quality post, rather than a quick-and-dirty one.

We are now at the tail end of our trip, and it has been a great one. The weather has been phenomenal, and we have done a lot of new things and visited plenty of new hotels, restaurants, etc. I don’t want to spoil all of that, but suffice to say, we already have a “backlog” of Walt Disney World post ideas that will need to be written over the next few months.

As for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, well…it has seen better days. If I weren’t an Annual Passholder, I’d be offended by the cost of admission here. With that said, I’ve actually enjoyed being here this trip. Part of that is the lack of the obnoxiously-placed Sorceror Hat and stage. Part of that is seeing old favorites for the last time and having excitement for what the future holds…

More on all of that later, now on with some photos. Check back throughout the afternoon as we add more!

What a view! Unlike the other ‘removals’ at DHS lately, this is addition by subtraction.

Even the counter service dining situation at DHS leaves a lot to be desired.

Dragon-princess on the move!

Sarah’s salmon at ABC Commissary.

*Technical difficulties prevented further updates yesterday, but here are some additional photos*

I love this statue near the intersection of Hollywood & Sunset. I hope part of the relaunch of this park involves placemaking elements like this (and landscaping) in other areas that aren’t receiving huge additions or changes.

We got the cowboy scene on Great Movie Ride for the second time this trip! I have a lot of thoughts about the TCM-induced changes at Great Movie Ride, but those probably deserve a longer post…

Palm trees and puffy clouds…if it weren’t for that humidity, Florida would be the perfect place to live.

Thanks for 11 years of zany antics and fun performances, Mulch, Sweat, and Shears. You will be missed.

Okay, that does it for yesterday in DHS. I’m not even going to bother with these live update posts for the rest of the trip…
