Best 2020 Amazon Prime Day Disney Deals

Amazon’s Prime Day is almost over! We’ve rounded up the best discounts on Disney books, collectibles, travel accessories, and more! This post lists the top deals relevant to Disney fans, WDW vacations, or that will make great gifts–for yourself or others.

Prime Day is a little different this year. Normally, it’s Amazon’s Christmas in July sale, with the best deals of the year outside the holiday season. We probably don’t have to explain why it was postponed–that topic has permeated a bit too many posts in the last 6 months. Instead, let’s focus on the fun of this most joyous buying “holiday.”

For 2020, Prime Day is like the opening act for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The bulk of deals during November and December are basically on Amazon anyway, so it seems like the retail behemoth is seeking to further dominate three full months of the holiday shopping season. Not that I’m complaining–I’ve stepped inside a Target or Walmart under 4 times in as many years, and 95% of my non-food purchases are made at Amazon.

In this post, I’ve aggregated the best deals that are likely to be of interest to Disney fans and travelers. The former are fun items for collectors, parents, gift-giving to fans, and so on. The latter are practical items that would be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations. If you want a broader selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Day Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals.

As with any of these promotional event sales, some “special offers” are great and some are…not so special. We’ve combed through the various deals and are sharing only those we deem good. We receive a small commission from your purchases, so buying through these links helps support the site. However, neither the price you pay nor our recommendations (or lack thereof) are impacted by that. We’ve purchased these items ourselves, have friends who recommend them, or are debating the purchase. It should be clear from each item’s description how we feel about a particular product.

On with the list of the Best Amazon Prime Day Deals for 2020…

Fun Disney Stuff

Echo Dot with Mandalorian “Baby Yoda” Stand – Amazon’s smart speaker for smaller rooms that allows you to stream music or use Alexa skills. We have these around the house (minus the Baby Yoda stand) and are big fans–still feels like living in Carousel of Progress when voice controlling the brightness of our lights!

Echo Mickey Mouse Wall Clock – A new smart device that uses Alexa to set voice timers and more. On the one hand, this sounds kinda pointless or like overkill to me. On the other hand, I thought the same about the Echo speakers and love those…and this looks really slick!

LEGO Star Wars General Grievous Building Set – Command the Droid Army with buildable & posable General Grievous! This buildable LEGO version of the feared Supreme Commander features fully posable limbs, 2-into-4 separating arms and 4 buildable Light sabers. Cool.

Cricut Items – To be honest, I have no idea what any of this stuff is or what it does. Sarah said I should add it because her friends love this for Disney use, and there are some great deals on the various products.

Disney Travel Accessories

50% Off Samsonite & American Tourister LuggageWe do not use either brand, but the prices on Samsonite and American Tourister sets are so good that they bear mentioning–especially the Mickey Mouse “pants” bags!

5/9 Piece Packing Cube Set – Anyone who has read our Ultimate Disney Parks Packing List knows that we swear by these things. This set is is a great deal–but be sure to “clip” the coupon on the product page.

Compression Packing Cubes – They key here is that these are compression packing cubes, which normally cost more and will save you even more space when packing. If you need the suitcase space, we recommend this set over the 6-piece set.

Anker Phone Charger 20000mAh External Battery Pack – Great for charging phones while at Walt Disney World, which will be imperative if you’re using My Disney Experience or social media. This one has great capacity–ideal for more than one person. Anker is one of our preferred brands (along with Aukey).

25800mAh Ultra-High Capacity Battery Pack – Same idea as above, but slightly higher capacity and less expensive. This is the better option for families. We have no experience with this brand, but the Amazon reviews are 4.5/5.

Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones – We already have one pair of these and they are spectacular–worth every penny (and way better than Beats or Sony’s alternatives). The noise cancelling is perfect for flights, public transit, or just trying to work in the same room as one another and maintaining focus. We’re debating picking up a second pair since the first is often “fought” over. (There are also great deals on Apple AirPods, but we prefer the Bose headphones for travel. They’re worth the extra space they take up.)

Memory Foam Neck Pillow Airplane Travel Kit – This kit also includes a velour cover, sleep mask, and earplugs. Sarah swears by all of these things for longer flights, and this Prime Day Deal is a great discount!

Outlander Packable Backpack – Takes up minimal room in your suitcase and more importantly is super lightweight. That minimizes the amount of back-sweat you’ll have to endure from the Florida heat and humidity. 😉 (Seriously, it makes a world of difference!)

Disney Media

Amazon has a Prime Day promo offering 3 books and other media for the price of 2. To take advantage, simply add 3 items from the books on this page to your Shopping Basket via the “Add to Basket” button. The offer will be automatically applied to your total at checkout. Here are our recommended titles from this offer:

The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company – This is past Disney CEO Bob Iger’s memoir, and it’s shockingly candid and compelling. Iger is clearly a smart and interesting guy, but all of his interviews are played fairly close to the vest and feel meticulously scripted. This is a sharp and fascinating departure from that. Highly recommended!

Travels with Figment On the Road in Search of Disney Dreams — The last title by Imagineering Legend Marty Sklar, published posthumously. I still have yet to start this, but every other book by Marty Sklar has been excellent. Plus, it has Figment right in the title!

One Day at Disney – I don’t like this book, but the price is right at 51% off and part of the 3 for 2 deal. YMMV.

Maps of the Disney Parks — The next two books are staples of our gift-giving guides, and that’s in part because they are both titles that look really nice, making them eye-catching gifts. We covered this in our Top 10 Disney Park Books list, but it bears mentioning again.

Poster Art of the Disney Parks — If you have to choose between the ‘Maps’ book above or the ‘Poster Art’ book, this is the better one, hands down. It features posters from around the world, including a ton you’ve never seen before. This book was curated by Walt Disney Imagineering, and it shows—the design and artwork is fantastic.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic – If you’ve followed this blog around Christmas-time, you know we are huge fans of Muppet Christmas Carol. I’ve seen it more than any other film (the next closest is Terminator 2, for those keeping score at home).

Eat Like Walt: The Wonderful World of Disney Food – This is neither a cookbook nor a phony attempt at sharing foods Walt Disney might’ve liked. Rather, it’s an interesting look at the history of the parks, along with rare photos. Truly an excellent book–be sure to clip the coupon below the price to save even more!

Hocus Pocus Blu-Ray – Only one of us recommends this, and it’s not me. Nevertheless, a great deal on a campy and (arguably) fun Halloween movie that has somehow become a classic.

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-Ray – Now we’re talking. A real Halloween/Christmas classic!

Thomas Kinkade Disney Coloring Books – Mentioning this because there are a lot of Kinkade-Disney fans. Unfortunately, none of the puzzles or calendars made the 3 for 2 deal. We love those, but are not huge fans of the coloring books. (Isn’t the whole point of Kinkade the color and light?!) Still a great deal.

The following items are not part of the 3 for 2 deal, but have great savings of their own…

Walt Disney’s Disneyland – We ordered this a couple of Prime Days ago, and as you can read in our full book review, it’s one of my favorite Disney books of all-time. Anyone who has owned or even held a TASCHEN book knows why this is something special, and this deal can’t be beat! (Be sure to clip the coupon for another ~$13 off.)

Marc Davis in His Own Words: Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks — This behemoth is by Pixar director Pete Docter and Imagineer Christopher Merritt, and it’s a passion project about one of the true Walt-era Imagineering heavyweights who is behind a bunch of iconic attractions, including Country Bear Jamboree. (The coupon makes this 75% off!)

Thomas Kinkade The Disney Collection 4 in 1 Multipack Puzzles4 puzzles in 1 package, with 500 pieces per puzzle! There are a bunch of regular Kinkade puzzles on sale for Prime Day, but this is not one of them. It’s just a “regular” deal, which still seems pretty good.

Disney Storybook Collection — A large, 300+ page hardcover book retelling several classic Disney stories complete with 250 pieces of artwork from the Disney Archives.

Kingdom Hearts All-In-One Package – I’ve never been able to get into this game–just doesn’t do anything for me–but this is an undeniably good price (40% off!) and entry point into the Kingdom Hearts universe.

Disney Eye Found It Card Game— A card game version of the standard board game that we normally recommend—and an even better deal (40% off).

Cards Against Disney – NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KIDS. This looks like a knock-off of Cards Against Humanity, a game we don’t really like to begin with. Nevertheless, this looks intriguing and is on sale…it’s just a question of whether it’s any good. (The reviews suggest it is, but we’re still hesitant.)

Okay, that’s it for right now. There are a bunch of other great deals that are totally unrelated to Disney on the Amazon Prime Day homepage. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!

Also, check back here throughout the deal, as I’ll share more Lightning Deals as they become available if they’re any good. Oh, and if you find anything that you think would be useful for other Disney fans, please share in the comments below!
