Disneyland Paris & European Vacation Report
In this trip report, we share hundreds of photos from Disneyland Paris and locations in Europe that inspired the original EPCOT Center. The first half of the trip report focuses on scenes featured in Impressions de France, an opening day EPCOT Center film in the France pavilion that is still shown today. This is one of our favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World (seriously), and we’ve wanted to visit many of its locations for a while now.
Following that, we head to Disneyland Paris for the days leading up to Halloween and the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon, all of which will be covered in this trip report, as well. Finally, we offer a single installment that offers a whirlwind tour from Switzerland and Germany, where we make more Disney-related stops, including in Zermatt (the Matterhorn) and Neuschwanstein Castle (Sleeping Beauty Castle).
While this trip report includes a few days at Disneyland Paris, it spends more time outside of the Disney parks. Fair warning: for those who aren’t hardcore EPCOT Center geeks or European travel, this trip report might not hold a lot of appeal. From our perspective, this was one of the most memorable and fun trips we’ve ever taken…and hopefully that shows through in this report.
We’ll elaborate on each spot we visit, share some anecdotes, and provide travel recommendations (in case you want to emulate parts of this itinerary) along the way. In so doing, hopefully you’re able to join us for a virtual-visit to “Disney’s Europe” in what we hope will be a fun and entertaining read!
This trip report is currently a work-in-progress, and links below will become active once new installments are posted. Click the links below to go to each installment…

Thanks for such a detailed Europe trip report, I’ve really enjoyed reading it. I live in the UK and haven’t managed to get to the US parks yet, so it’s been great reading about places that are a bit more accessible to me here in England. I have a trip to Disneyland Paris planned for October, so will definitely be taking some recommendations from these posts, including checking out Agrabah Cafe for the first time.
I absolutely loved this trip report and the way you combined your travel with your love of disney. This is a way I would love to plan! Now that the whole report is done, I am planning to reread it all the way through so that I feel more of the flow within your trip.
Would you consider a post on renting a car in Europe, especially Germany/Austria?
Great trip report, really enjoyed it!!! Thanks for taking the time to write it and to post all the amazing photos. I like that you visit the non-typical places when you travel. If I make it to France again, I am going to visit some of your destinations.
My all time favorite trip report!! You’ve just added about 5 new places on my must-visit list! Thanks so much for putting all this together – your photos are incredible.
