Epcot’s Fountain of Nations Photo

Fountain of Nations - Epcot

The Fountain of Nations is located in Epcot’s Future World at Walt Disney World, specifically in the center of Innoventions Plaza. A water-show performs in the Fountain of Nations every 15 minutes. The show is set to various pieces of music from Disney movies such as The Rescuers Down Under and The Rocketeer and from classic Disney attractions like Epcot’s “Surprise in the Skies.” Music from classical performers also rounds out the set.

The Fountain of Nations is an opening-day EPCOT Center attraction, and was part of the Dedication Ceremony with the “Pouring of the Waters,” which was an event that signified international cooperation and understanding as representatives from 22 countries each poured a gallon of water that was from their home countries into the fountain.

I like to watch the full show at least once per trip, as it’s one of those nice “slow down” Disney details that makes the park so charming. I also frequently find myself stopping here late at night in between photo sets just gazing off into the fountain. That didn’t happen on this particular night, as I was battling the rain and trying my hardest to get photos without getting my lens wet. This happened to be a good photo subject because I could point the lens downward while taking this photo (thus substantially decreasing the chances that rain-drops would land on the lens and ruin the shot). As soon as I got this photo, I booked it out of the rain!

Technical details: Nikon D7000 and Rokinon 8mm Fisheye Lens. See our Disney Photography Guide for more photography equipment recommendations.
