There’s a new free event at Walt Disney World for Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premier Annual Passholders! During V.I.Passholder Nights, select attractions, restaurants, and shops at Magic Kingdom or Epcot for open an extra 2 to 3 hours after park closing.

V.I.Passholder Nights return again for 2019 after being quite popular last year. The new dates are April 28, 2019 from 11:00 p.m. until 1 a.m. at Magic Kingdom; plus May 18, 2019 and June 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.

Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier Passholders can pre-register by making an online reservation for one of these nights. Event capacity is limited. The number of reservations for this event is limited and subject to availability. There is no additional charge for this event. Valid annual pass and photo ID required at check-in.

Eligible Annual Passholders should have received an email, but any Walt Disney World AP knows these emails are incredibly hit or miss (only one of us received ours), so you can register here if you’re eligible. With only 3 nights of the parties, we’re expecting them to fill up quickly.

After a 2-minute wait in the virtual queue, I was able to complete registration for both Sarah and me. Other friends (in My Disney Experience) who are eligible for the events were presented as options during the registration process, which was nice. (But also could’ve been an issue if I was quickly clicking through and not paying attention, as they were auto-selected!)

As we noted in our Walt Disney World News & Rumor Round-up today, we’re expecting these events to be a somewhere between evening Extra Magic Hours and Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic events in terms of quality and “specialness.”

In other words, you can expect there to be special photo ops and maybe a few rare characters, but probably not free food, exclusive fireworks, or ultra-low crowds. These V.I.Passholder Nights are a nice perk for those already in town, but nothing around which we’d plan a trip to Florida.
