Journey into Imagination Reflection Photo

When you’re at Walt Disney World, sometimes mother nature gives you lemons that you must make into lemonade. More literally, sometimes there’s a torrential downpour that you should view as a positive and turn into awesome reflections photos. On the first night of our February 2012 Walt Disney World trip, most guests had left Epcot because it was pouring. Rather than avoiding the rain and staying in our room, I ventured out into the rain to capture some beautiful photos. I got absolutely soaked in the process (some people may think this is foolish, but I never wear a poncho–inhibits my range of motion too much), but I think my photographic bounty speaks for itself. Just take a look at some of the photos I’ve previously posted from that night: Spaceship Earth reflection photo (#1), Spaceship Earth reflection photo (#2), France Reflection Photo, Fountain of Nations Photo, and Flying Fish Photo. If you like those, check out the first installment of our trip report from that trip. As you can see, it was a great night for photography!

The lesson from all of this: one way or another, even a rainy day at Walt Disney World is better than a beautiful day at home. Heck, if you’re as crazy as me, a rainy day at Walt Disney World might be better than a beautiful day at Walt Disney World!

Technical details: Nikon D7000 and Rokinon 8mm Fisheye Lens. See our Disney Photography Guide for more photography equipment recommendations.
