The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Photos
The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a dark ride attraction at Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort (a substantively identical attraction exists in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland at Walt Disney World). The attraction was added to the park as part of Disney California Adventure’s $1.5+ billion expansion. Since opening on June 3, 2011, The Little Mermaid has received several tweaks, most recently when Walt Disney Imagineering changed some animation in the attraction and replaced one Audio Animatronic Ariel’s hair (the “soft serve” hair as some fans dubbed it) with more natural looking hair.
Since opening, Disney’s Little Mermaid dark ride has become one of the most popular dark rides in both the Magic Kingdom and Disney California Adventure. While it doesn’t marvel guests with special effects, it has some well-done Audio Animatronics and some pretty cool scenes. Plus, more upgrades are coming to it in 2014! (At least in Disney California Adventure.)
If you’re a fan of Walt Disney World, note that this attraction is identical to Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland…so just pretend these photos were taken in Florida!

This is absolutely my fav!!!!!
We’ve been there once in 2013 and the trip was wonderful. My daughter is a fan of The Little Mermaid and now she plans to visit it again next week. After three years, there must be many awesome upgrades awaiting us. Photos are beautiful and appealing.
These are technically and artistically beautiful photos, and that’s a feat not easily accomplished from a moving boat. They really catch the experience. Many Disney joys pass by very quickly, and it is a pleasure to be able to savor them in still photographs.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of camera set up did you use?
