Prime Day Deals for Disney Fans & Travelers
Amazon is back with another Prime Day, and this one includes more great deals on Disney items, travel accessories, and much more! Perfect for those with upcoming trips to Walt Disney World, or for fans who want to save money on cool Disney stuff. We’ve already bought several “essentials” (okay, mostly books and gadgets, but those are essential, right?!)
In case you missed the first one, Prime Day is basically Black Friday for people who are too lazy to put on pants and leave the house. Amazon, you get me. 😉 Joking aside, we ended up buying more last year during Prime Day (including our Alexa Echo and Philips Hue–totally unrelated to the subject matter of this blog, but we absolutely love both) than we did during the post-Thanksgiving sales. For us, Prime Day was better than Cyber Monday.
In this post, I’ve aggregated a bunch of the best deals that are likely to be of interest to Disney fans and tourists. Some of these are Disney-specific items, whereas others are non-Disney things. The former are just plain fun, and the latter are practical items that would be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations. If you want a broader selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Day Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals…
As with any of these promotional event sales, some of the “special offers” are great and some are…not so special. We’ve combed through the various deals and compared them to prices elsewhere and we’re only listing the deals here that are actually good…
Maps of the Disney Parks – With discount code PRIMEBOOKS18 (which is good for $5 off any book purchase over $20), this works out to being over 60% off. Great deal on a great book!
Walt Disney’s Disneyland – Not a Prime Day deal per se, but there is an extra coupon for this TASCHEN pre-order, which is my most anticipated book of 2018. Anyone who has owned or even held a TASCHEN book knows why this is going to be something special, and this deal can’t be beat!
Eat Like Walt: The Wonderful World of Disney Food – This is not a cookbook, nor is it a phony attempt at sharing foods Walt Disney might’ve liked. Rather, it’s an interesting look at the history of the parks, along with rare photos. Truly an excellent book–be sure to clip the coupon below the price to save even more!
2-Pack Folding Travel Power Strip w/ USB Ports – A nice, compact solution for charging devices with regular outlets and USB ports.
6-Piece Packing Cubes with Laundry Bag – Anyone who has read our Ultimate Disney Parks Packing List knows that I swear by these things. Not only is this set available at a good discount, but it also comes with a laundry bag (another thing we recommend!).
Compact Waterproof Beach Blanket/Ground Cover – This might seem like an odd recommendation, but these beach blankets make great parade mats, and are rarely discounted. Not every color is on sale for Prime Day, so make sure to choose one that is!
Thomas Kinkade 4-in-1 Multi Pack Disney Puzzles – Get 46% off these 4 Disney puzzle designs featuring Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Winnie the Pooh, and Little Mermaid. If you’re serious about puzzles, there’s also this 40,000 piece behemoth, which is half off–but still quite pricey.
Mogix Phone Charger 10400mAh External Battery Pack – Great for charging multiple phones while at Walt Disney World, which will be imperative if you’re using My Disney Experience for FastPass+, or using social media at all. Make sure to use the coupon (on the product page, below the price) to save more!
American Tourister Disney Mickey Face Spinner – This is a fun, durable suitcase for Disney fans that has solid reviews.
Invicta Mickey Mouse Stainless Steel Watch – A sharp silver and blue metal watch with the iconic ‘Standing Mickey’ pose, with another 30% discount at checkout.
Anker 5-Port USB Travel Charger – Some newly-refurbished Disney hotel rooms are starting to get better about having enough charging ports, but we still always travel with one of these to charge our phones, cameras, watches, etc. at night.
Memory Foam Neck Pillow Airplane Travel Kit – This kit also includes a velour cover, sleep mask, and earplugs. Sarah swears by all of these things for longer flights (although she now uses an inflatable pillow to save space), and this Prime Day Lightning Deal is a great discount!
Waterproof Travel Backpack with Charging Port – With the daily Florida showers, having a waterproof travel backpack at Walt Disney World could really come in handy. It also has anti-theft and other features, making it a solid option for travel. (Here’s a great alternative if you want something lighter and packable.)
Pixar Cars Micro Racers 10-Vehicle Pack – 10 mini metal Disney/Pixar Cars racers with wheels that move–41% off.
Okay, that’s it for right now. There are a bunch of other great deals that are totally unrelated to Disney on the Amazon Prime Day homepage. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!
Also, check back here throughout the deal, as I’ll share more Lightning Deals as they become available if they’re any good. Oh, and if you find anything that you think would be useful for other Disney fans, please share in the comments below!

I’m too late to contribute to the Prine Day bonanza, but I’ll add one item that i percieve as as Disney Fanatic Must-Have.
Not only is this a fascinating look inside Pixar Studios from the perspective of a co-founder, it is one of my top 5 leadership books. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Bonus- it came out before Inside Out was released, and one of the anecdotes in the book is about how they struggled for years to figure out how to make a “story about the emotions in a teenage girl’s brain” into a cohesive story. Needless to say, they eventually figured it out. It’s a great read for anyone.

How is it you get the extra 30% off at checkout? Is there a code? I’m interested in the Minnie mouse suitcase.
There was a little ‘coupon’ button right below the price, but the suitcase is sold out now. Hopefully you figured it out before now and were able to buy before it disappeared! 🙂
Not directly related to Disney, but something I will have with me for the plane/car or just hanging around at the hotel (if that latter ever actually happens…) – picked up another Kindle Fire 8 for $20 using AmEx rewards.
There are a handful of individual 750 piece Kinkade puzzles around for varying prices (Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Aladdin, Peter Pan)
I purchased a small luggage scale. Sometimes we go home with more than we started! It was made by Etekcity and was $9.59.
A Disney Ravensburg puzzle for the true Disney fan! (https://www.amazon.com/Ravensburger-Disney-Puzzle-40320-Pieces/dp/B01D24PK96/ref=sr_1_2?s=prime-day&psr=PDAY&ie=UTF8&qid=1531794449&sr=1-2&keywords=puzzle+disney+-kinkade&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)
A good price on a per-piece basis. I like puzzles, but I cannot even imagine attempting this thing,
I saw that, and while it looks like a good deal based on normal prices (and comparison sites) is that actually a good price? I have zero knowledge of this brand and just the idea of spending so much on a puzzle is a bit…puzzling…to me.
Ravensburger makes high-quality puzzles. the print quality is good and the pieces fit together well.
Is the price good? Maybe? If you look at it as forty 1000-piece puzzles you are paying $7.50 per puzzle, which is indeed a good deal. That said, I have no desire at all to put together forty 1000-piece puzzles concurrently!
I don’t even know where I could put together a 22 ft piece!
I’d certainly be willing to try though (if I could get over the mental block of dropping $300 on one puzzle, even though it’s not a bad price per piece!), although knowing me, there’s a not insignificant chance of me hyper focusing on it until it’s finished and I would probably sacrifice more sleep than recommended to do so… 😉
Send me a picture when you are done, Vicki! 🙂
I pre-ordered the Disneyland book. There was a $2.45 coupon and a code for an additional $5 off (PRIMEBOOKS18). Very good deal for a $60 book!
I also purchased packing cubes on your suggestion for my WDW trip this past April. I’ll have to admit I was torn because I’m more likely than not to take a women’s advice and you said Sarah wasn’t too jazzed about packing cubes. I LOVE THEM. My suitcase was SO organized. I rolled everything and I was amazed at how much I could fit in each bag. Thanks for that recommendation. I plan to purchase another set for my September trip.
If been seeing occasional lightning deals for the trtl (not a typo) travel pillow. It’s a different type of pillow (it’s more of a brace than a pillow), I like it much more than any type of traditional travel pillow for long flights, though it likely isn’t for everyone.
I am extremely excited for the new Walt Disney’s Disneyland book! In fact, I think that it will be extremely popular among Disneyland fans. I will definitely second your recommendation of packing cubes! Especially great for international trips when you bring more clothes.
Oh, that book is definitely going to be a huge hit among Disneyland fans. I’m anticipating something that joins the ranks of Inside Story and Nickel Tour. The early previews have looked great.
I have the Taschen film archives book and it is fantastic. I saw it in a shop in Disney World and it was not for sale, probably Epcot if I remember correctly, and I immediately came home and ordered it. It is by far the most impressive Disney book we have a lot of them!
I have never even been to Disneyland, and I ordered the Disneyland book just because I know the level of detail that book will contain being from Taschen. We are huge fans that hope to make it to Disneyland one day (we live in New Orleans), but I am sure we will still be able to appreciate it. Especially for the current price!
I wanted to plug the memory foam neck pillow – I have a similar one that I paid nearly $40 for instead of $16! (And it was worth it – I typically sleep about 2hrs on a transatlantic flight and with this pillow I was able to get about 5.)
I’d imagine the memory foam is much more comfortable, but if you’re tight on space (as we usually are), the inflatable option is more convenient.
Very true. One thing I like about the memory foam is that it does compact to a pretty small size, and can be attached to the outside of a carry-on via a small bag if you are still to tight on space (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZIKWJW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
You might want to give it a try.
What brand of inflatable does Sarah have? I bought one but could not begin to blow it up! Granted, I am 65 years old, but I can still walk the parks all day, so I don’t think my lungs are that depleted. Thanks!
Sarah has this, and she swears by it: https://amzn.to/2O1FH3A
