Up to 30% Off Disney World Resorts in Fall 2022 for Disney Visa Cardmembers
Walt Disney World has released new late summer and early Fall 2022 resort room-only discounts for Disney Visa cardholders. This post shares the details of these special offers, commentary about why there’s such a shortage of savings, plus sample pricing, analysis & other info. (Updated April 19, 2022 at 8 pm EST.)
In case you’ve forgotten, discounts of up to 25% off rooms at Walt Disney World have already been released for now through July 7, 2022. Those room-only rates, like the several rounds before them, were only available for Floridians and Annual Passholders, and had relatively limited availability. Additionally, Walt Disney World released savings of up to $100 off per night for the general public for Spring and Summer 2022.
Following that, there’s another discount of up to 25% off rooms at Walt Disney World for Disney+ subscribers that runs through the end of September 2022. That discount would normally be offered to Annual Passholders and Florida residents, but is instead being used to incentivize streaming service subscriptions. Now, Walt Disney World has released another more targeted special offer encompassing a subset of those late summer and early fall dates…
Before starting, we’ll preface this with a reminder that availability has been weak for many recent discounts. The Disney+ promotion seemed to buck that trend, but even that wasn’t good by normal, historical standards. We had many readers report finding nothing at all–or higher prices–for their travel dates.
Where there is availability, it often requires a room upgrade (e.g. from standard to preferred view, Pirate Rooms, etc.), thus at least partially negating the benefit of the discount. In other cases, the room discount won’t apply to previously booked reservations–despite them technically being eligible–because the special offer no longer has inventory for the resort and room combo. Just something to remember before getting your hopes up too much here. keep in mind before getting your hopes up here.
Disney Visa Cardmembers can take advantage of sensational savings:
- Save up to 30% on rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Save up to 30% on family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Save up to 25% on rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Save up to 25% on rooms at other select Disney Resort hotels
This offer is valid for stays most nights August 28 through September 19, 2022 when you book using your Disney Visa Credit or Debit Card.
Here’s the full chart of savings for all Walt Disney World resorts:
This special offer for Disney Visa Cardmembers excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom villas, campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Additional per-adult charges may apply if more than 2 adults per room at Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts and Studios at Deluxe Villa Resorts. Maximum length of stay under this deal is 14 nights.
Here are other important details about the late Summer & early Fall 2022 Disney Visa Cardmember room-only discount:
- The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited.
- Savings based on the non-discounted price for the same room.
- Length of stay requirements may apply.
- Must use a valid Disney Visa Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card to pay the deposit.
- Disney Visa Cardmember must stay in the room.
- Offer is non-transferable.
- Advance reservations required.
- Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
UPDATE: This Disney Visa Cardmember special offer is now up on DisneyWorld.com. To book, you can call Disney Reservation Center, contact your travel agent, or use the online booking tool here.
If you want to take advantage of this discount, we’d recommend requesting a FREE no obligation pricing quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and having them book for you. They will be happy to assist you with the planning process, help you choose the most economical resort, room options & dates, best add-ons, and so forth. They also monitor reservations and can retroactively apply new discounts if a better deal is released to save you more money.
Below are the best available rates for this Disney Visa Cardmember deal for late summer and early fall:
This search is for the night of September 6, 2022, which is part of the “Value 2” season at Walt Disney World. That has the cheapest rack rates of the year outside of January and February.
Note that this is not an exhaustive list of the lowest rates for all hotels. Some resorts listed above are showing prices for non-standard rooms.
This discount is generally better than the Disney+ subscriber offer by 5-10% off for most resorts. Many move up one discount level, whereas a handful move up two. Only one, Pop Century, actually has a worse discount (10% v. 15%) with this offer.
Most notably, there are several resorts discounted here that are excluded from the Disney+ subscriber discount. These include Beach Club, Bay Lake Tower, BoardWalk Villas, and more. (Unfortunately, still nothing for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.) With that said, this discount is also for a narrower range of dates that’s entirely in the early fall off-season when demand is significantly lower. By contrast, the Disney+ discount encompassed peak summer season, as well.
In terms of generalized commentary, some of the discounts we’ve seen released in recent months are superior to what we’ve been paying recently, and that’s when booking hotels both on-site and off-site near Walt Disney World. Granted, I’m comparing prices of stays in May 2022 when pent-up demand is (hopefully) worse to stays in September 2022, which (hopefully) will be the sleepy off-season once again.
For the recent and upcoming months, we’ve been booking rooms at Flamingo Crossings and elsewhere, and I’ve yet to book anything for under $125 per night. To the contrary, most stays have been significantly more expensive. I’ve seen many nights when rooms are over $200, and those are for “budget” or extended stay accommodations. Granted, they’re nice and new, but that area is supposed to be cheaper. The point is that hotel prices are up everywhere, not just Disney-owned resorts.
Relative to what I’ve been seeing for this spring, $126 per night for All Star Movies or $143 per night for Pop Century–with the perks and transportation each offer–is a downright steal. (Even though it’s cheaper, I would not book All Star Sports for $107 per night. Pay a little extra for something nicer.)
Of course, it’s not as cheap as what you would’ve paid this same time in 2019, let alone 2016. Back in my day, the All Stars had off-season rates that were routinely $79 per night or less! Unfortunately, absent a time machine, it’s impossible to book those prices.
With that said, I remain hopeful that Walt Disney World hotel prices will fall in the late summer and early fall as pent-up demand fizzles out, household savings decreases, stimulus money dries up, and inflation starts stinging more. Who knows if any of that will actually happen, though. I didn’t think “revenge travel” would run this hot for this long.
It’ll be interesting to see how all of this plays out. While pent-up demand among domestic tourists could slow down, the return of international guests in full force could sustain Walt Disney World’s strong demand even longer, as could special events and conventions. That could also be offset by the return of more hotel rooms to the inventory. No one knows how many rooms are currently out of commission at the operational resorts, but at some of them, it’s a lot.
We’ve been covering the dearth of deals for months, as well as the lack of hotel availability. (If you haven’t already read it, we’d recommend What’s Up with Sold Out Hotels at Walt Disney World?)
As covered in the latest update to that, we’re starting to see limited availability through early Summer 2022, but there are signs of improvement. Availability is not nearly as limited as it was last holiday season, and that has been true even during the peak weeks of spring break. So it bodes well that Walt Disney World is already releasing a discount through September 2022.
If that anecdotal observation is accurate–and it may not be–we still might see decent discounts for later in 2022. Hopefully, there will be more rooms unloaded on Priceline and Hotwire at the very least. (For what it’s worth, we haven’t been updating inventory in that post because there’s been absolutely nothing since last fall.)
Walt Disney World also might take a wait and see approach to releasing more deals. On the plus side, this discount is actually early by historical standards. Normally, deals for late summer and early fall wouldn’t drop until the end of April. A few weeks early might not seem like much, but it reverses a recent trend of discounts dropping much later than normal.
Ultimately, if you’re Disney Visa Cardmember who is eager for a late summer vacation or early off-season escape to Walt Disney World, these deals might be as good as it gets–at least, until pent-up demand fizzles out or Disney is able to operate its resorts at 100% occupancy.

YOUR THOUGHTS
What do you think of these Walt Disney World room only discounts for Disney Visa Cardholders? Disappointed that there’s nothing for the general public? I’m on vacation in Amsterdam right now and finding it impossible to access the US version of any Disney websites. I tried logging into mydisneyexperience and was welcomed by my name and directed to Disneyland Paris’s page. Out of curiosity, I searched my upcoming August dates via the EU page and was shocked limited availability and high prices. WOW. It must be frustrating for all the European readers to see these posted deals and have no access! Does anyone have a work around suggestion so I might have access to the US site to check these discounts? Side note – my family’s 9-day trip to Amsterdam has been a fantastic time, balancing a mixture of high end experiences against free and low-cost activities, history, culture and relaxation, staying in a beautiful, 2-bedroom apartment in a canal, all for half the price of our pending 10-day August trip to Fort Wilderness. Just saying. PS – Tom, I’m officially logging a vote for photos of the Tulip Festival on Travel Caffiene. I took dozens of shots, but I know yours would do it justice in a way mine do not.
This is the wildest group of discounts I’ve ever seen! Heck, despite listing the 30% off, the headline only lists 25% of for these late summer, not at all in fall discounts. I don’t remember discounts mixed across categories like this.
For what it’s worth, headlining this “Fall 2022” was my editorial decision–Disney hasn’t given it any season label.
For WDW’s purposes, fall usually starts Labor Day (just like summer starts Memorial Day). Seasons have no meaning in Florida, anyway. 😉
Any idea when Polynesian may see some discount offers??
I just got the email – here’s the link: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/disney-visa-summer-2022-room-offer/
Thanks! Just booked AKL Savannah view for August! Just want to say thank you just got back from crowded Spring break long weekend and thanks to all of your great advice we had a great time! Got on every ride we wanted RoR, Remy, Slinky 2x during early entry and closing . Plus each day 5-6 Genie+ Rides ! Still had time to go back to hotel and relax! Can’t thank you enough !
Thanks for sharing your experience–nice to hear that you had a great time!
Can you account for the disparity between discounts for Beach Club and Yacht Club? Is it the exterior work on Yacht Club?
I cannot.
I don’t think that exterior work is taking rooms out of commission. We just did a stay at Yacht Club and there were maintenance workers *on our balcony* during the middle of the day.
My mom and I stayed at YC last September and were constantly harassed by workers painting, sawing, tree trimming etc right outside our patio beginning at 8:45 am. The front desk said they had received a number of complaints and really thought the rooms should have been taken out of inventory. We were given some Pixie dust!
Its fascinating that the Polynesian is never part of a discount package.
Agreed. My favorite resort and I guess many feel the same! A lot of demand.
The apparently *significant* popularity difference between the Copper Creek Villas and the Boulder Creek Villas blows my mind.
Really? Boulder Ridge rooms are old and not in the main building.
If anything, I think this underscores that normal guests don’t care about thematic integrity in rooms nearly as much as hardcore fans. They just want new and modernized spaces.
I’m certain that I’ve seen that 20% difference for Kidani Village versus Jambo House but, but I thought this was new to the WLV.
Good catch with noting that DVC members care less about theming; they’re likely aware of the upcoming remodel that slipped my mind!
Not available for international guests as Disney Visa not available for applicants outside the US. Feels like another targeted baby step offer and should be more offers released in next few weeks for fall discounts. Even if non-US residents can’t use this offer, still positive news for those of us watching and waiting for fall offers to drop. Canadians and Aussies fall into the US general offer pool but not with this visa offer. Unusual and certainly no intent to cut us out. More likely just no thought given as very small markets compared to US and UK. But does bode well for decent UK offer soon. What ‘decent’ means ie food credit offer again or something more is up in the air. Wait, watch and see as usual.
100%.
It’s not what we’re used to seeing by historical standards, but far better than the last 6-8 months. Things could still change in a hurry from here, especially if oil prices result in a travel slowdown, pent-up demand starts fizzling out, etc.
The Disney+ offer is way better anyhow!!
Do you know of the explanation for the tiers of discounts? Are some resorts more likely to be offered discounts than others?
It’s all based on resort occupancy numbers and internal projections. If bookings are low, better deals are offered. If they’re high, worse discounts (or nothing at all) are offered.
It would be nice if you had a hyper-link to hit to take you to the reservation page that offers this discount. How do we get the discount? Automatically from the CC company when we receive teh statement after our stay?
From the post: “this Disney Visa Cardmember special offer is not yet up on DisneyWorld.com or DisneyRewards.com. You’ll either need to call Disney Reservation Center or contact your travel agent–for now at least. This should appear online later today.”
I can’t find the discount on Disney’s webpage and haven’t received an email from Chase/Disney about this. Does the discount apply after you checkout with the card?
It’s not online yet. For now, you need to call the Disney Reservation Center to book…or wait a few hours, when it’ll likely be bookable on Disneyworld.com.
Any discounts for UK citizens you think might be coming up? for 2023 holidays!
In a normal year, the big 2023 UK offer would be released any day now–between late April and late May. However, it would also be Free Dining, and there’s almost no chance Walt Disney World will release a Free Dining promo without the regular DDP being back.
So either they wait to release the discount or drop another one with a dining credit or something else. My expectation is something similar to the 50th Anniversary promo (https://www.disneytouristblog.com/2022-disney-world-50th-anniversary-uk-deal-not-so-free-dining/), but that’s just a guess.
Thanks for being on top of everything so that the rest of us can lead “normal” lives. You two are the best.
Thanks for the kind words!
