Disney Cool Weather Scarf/Bag Ideas and Giveaway!
I’m back with another look at some Disney styles, this time with some options for cooler weather and a giveaway of another Harveys bag! I want to start by saying thank you for the positive response to my “New Outfits for Disney” post! I was really surprised by how many people read the last post, so I just want to say I really appreciate your readership.
We are heading to Disneyland tonight and the temperature is supposed to be in the low 60s. The last post focused more on what to wear in warmer weather, but I get cold easily, and want to look at cooler weather options and also festive ideas for upcoming celebrations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. One of the best options for cooler nights and festivities in Disneyland is scarves.
I love wearing scarves during the colder months because they are easy to pack, practical to wear, and can add specific Disney flare to regular outfits. Scarves are also nice because you can wait to put them on until it’s colder at night, take them off if you are too hot, and trade them amongst friends.
Here are some ideas:
Season of the Force starts Monday at Disneyland, and I’m thinking about what ways I can infuse my outfits with Star Wars so they fit the celebration. I love my R2-D2 dress above, but it’s too cold in California to wear that now. I have been looking for accessories to wear in colder temperatures that fit the theme, and scarves are perfect.
Here are some options that I like:
- Star Wars R2D2 Viscose Scarf – This scarf would give personality to a solid blue, black, or grey outfit.
- Star Wars VII Vs. Foil Print Infinity Viscose Soft Scarf – The foil print scarf would look awesome with a black top or any solid color jacket.
- Polka Dot “Minnie Mouse” Infinity Loop Scarf – This scarf is an very inexpensive, fun way to add a hint of Minnie Mouse to any outfit. The scarf is very thin and great for cool weather but not to be worn for warmth frigid temperatures.
- Disney Lilo & Stitch Grey Scarf – I’m a huge Stitch fan and think this is such a cute scarf!
During the colder months, I like to layer my clothing. I typically throw scarves, sweaters and/or jackets into a backpack or messenger bag. I already have several bags and will share some in a later post, but I came across a cute Inside Out (great price!) and Little Mermaid Backpack on Amazon and thought I would share now:
I’m still in the process of deciding which other ones I will get. I’ll make sure to post in our “Outfit of the Day Thread” over on the Disney Tourist Blog Discussion Forums, so keep tabs there if you are interested.

YOUR THOUGHTS…
What did you think of these scarves? Any recommendations for scarves or other cooler weather accessories? Please share thoughts or questions in the comments.
Last year I was at Disney World during the first week of Christmas. It was cold at night, so I invested in the fuzzy Minnie ears with attached scarf and gloves. I wore them 3 nights and loved them. Being from California, I haven’t had a chance to wear them since, but I will for Thanksgiving, since I’ll be in Tahoe!
I always love your park dresses, the Minnie one above is my new favorite! 🙂 I’m such a sucker for anything cute & Star Wars, I really shouldn’t have looked at those first few links!
I love this!! And I also love the Harvey Bag giveaway!! I have a Harvey Bag now and LOVE IT.
Great tips!!
Dresses, tights, long socks, boots. Layers on layers 🙂
Layers, layers, layers! You never know what kind of weather you’re in for (or the size crowd).
I genuinely did not know how to wear a scarf until I watched Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. I used to just wrap it around my neck like a weirdo. So my recommendation for cooler weather is to watch Sherlock, and check out how the ‘Batch wears it. (–unless there are multiple ways to wear a scarf, in which case my introduction paragraph just made me look foolish).
Last year, my wife and I went to Knott’s Berry Farm after Christmas, and I was not prepared for the cold weather. First of all, I almost wore shorts, but good thing I wore pants. I wore short socks, which was not sufficient, so I’d recommend wearing longer socks, or perhaps bringing an extra pair of socks just in case. Perhaps wear or bring sufficient headwear to protect your head/face from the cold; I have one of the TMNT persuasion, specifically a Michelangelo one from Hot Topic, that I can buckle under my chin. Just be prepared, because last year at KBF, the cold put a damper on our trip, and towards the end of the night I was just ready to go home, and you don’t want that feeling when you’re trying to have fun and enjoy yourselves. Maybe in the afternoon it’ll be “cool” but at night it can get pretty chilly, uncomfortably chilly, you never know, so just be prepared and perhaps keep a ‘cold preparation back pack’ in a locker or something. Just my 8 cents. My favorite number is 8 so I say 8 cents instead of 2.
I like to use layering and nuetral colors.
I live in Canada so it’s cold here a lot of the year. I like to wear layers. I almost always have a hoodie or sweater of some sort on.
Sadly, i live in Miami. We get like 1 – 40 degree weather day a year and never get anything cooler than that. I have no cold weather tips!
Layers! I wear leggings under jeans to keep extra warm. Or if it’s hot at the parks during the day then chilly at night, I pack a pair of (usually Disney themed) leggings in my backpack to put on under my shorts later that night. 🙂
Love any Disney scarf. I have a pretty big collection of them. I think I bought at least 8 on our last trip. I might have to get that R2D2 one though!
I love dressing up for the parks! Ears are my favorite accessories!
We are heading to Disneyworld in February, I need to get some of these scarves! I love your style.
I’ve never been to Disney in the winter but definitely want to!! Love your blog; your packing list helped so much!
I would say lightweight layers – zip-up hoodies, leggings, scarves. Being from the Northeast, and hating the cold, layers let you subtract when it gets warm to enjoy that glorious warm FL and CA sunshine!
I think it’s a good idea to wear layers when you aren’t sure how cold it will be outside. That way you are prepared for colder weather.
I’m always cold! Scarves definitely warm you up a bit but for me the key is layers and layers of clothing lol
I love the bags! I’m a massive fan of packing a cardigan in my bag. I go for solid colours that complement the outfit rather than take away from. Leaving them open also means any feature pieces you’re wearing underneath stay visible. I also wear tights under everything once it gets cold, again just basic colours so any feature pieces stand out. I even wear them under my graphic tights when it’s too cold to wear them by themselves.
Love the scarf idea! We wore cardigans this weekend when it got a little chilly at night 🙂
