Disney Parks Scenes: Spring in Bloom!

Spring is one of our favorite times of year at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Resort–and so on. From the temperate weather to the vibrant flowers to (occasional) lulls in the crowds–so long as you avoid Spring Break and the Easter holiday–it’s a great time for a trip.

Unfortunately, outside of Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival, spring is not exactly a season that is highly touted in the Disney Parks. A bit is done for Easter and a couple international parks have minor events, but this time of year doesn’t really receive the fanfare of Halloween or Christmas.

Because of this, we thought it’d be the perfect time to return with another installment of our “Scenes from the Disney Parks” photo posts with some spring photos to ‘raise awareness’ for this lovely time of year in the parks. Plus, we’ve spent the last week running around Kyoto for Japan’s beautiful cherry blossom season (check out my sakura photos from the temples and other places in Japan we’ve visited the last few days!) and between that and Easter, we’re really in the spring mood!

You can click on each spring photo below to view it larger (and with higher resolution) in my SmugMug gallery and to see the camera settings I used.

The photos in this post were all captured at different times, so the camera I used will differ for each one. Most will have been shot with my Nikon D750 DSLR, though. You can read about which cameras and lenses I am currently using in my new What’s In My Camera Bag? (2020 Edition) post.

That’s it–like we said, just a quick and fun post to “raise awareness” for spring in the Disney Parks. Although we’re not sure how much awareness an entire season really needs, we do think it’s good to acknowledge the beauty of other times of the year at the parks, outside of the big seasons.

We’re heading to Tokyo Disneyland soon, and if we manage to catch the tail end of sakura season there, we’ll share more cherry blossom photos from there. Be sure to follow along on Instagram (@tom_bricker and @sarahbricker) where we’ve been posting daily stories about our adventures!

If you want to learn more about photography to take great photos in the Disney theme parks and beyond, the best place to start is Tom’s Ultimate Disney Parks Photography Guide, which covers a variety of topics from links to tutorials, tips, and tricks to recommendations for point & shoots, DSLRs, lenses, and more!

Your Thoughts

What do you think of spring in the Disney Parks? Is it one of your favorite times of year to visit, or do you overlook it since there are no major special events aside from Flower & Garden Festival? Have a favorite Disney Park during the spring? Any photo-related questions? Hearing feedback about your experiences is both interesting to us and helpful to other readers, so please share your thoughts or questions below in the comments!
