Hyperspace Hoopla has been retired and will not occur at Star Wars Weekends 2014. In its place, a Star Wars-themed fireworks show called “Symphony in the Stars” will conclude each day of Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. If still you’re curious about Hyperspace Hoopla, here’s some information about it…

Hyperspace Hoopla concludes each day with a dance-off event called Hyperspace Hoopla. Each Hyperspace Hoopla is different, but the general premise is that two or more groups of Star Wars characters have a fan-judged dance-off to contemporary music to determine a winner. This high energy show is a departure from the serious world of Star Wars, and mixes pop culture with humor and fun dance routines. We thought this year’s was VERY impressive, with the highlight being Slave Leia, Padme, Chewbacca, C-3PO and other Star Wars stars dancing to Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO. If you want a good spot for this, make sure you show up early–at least an hour before the show. We got our spots 45 minutes in advance and had trouble seeing. The ground slopes downhill away from the stage, so getting a good view can be tough.

Here are some of our shots from Hyperspace Hoopla from the first weekend of Star Wars Weekends. Make sure to check out our full Star Wars Weekends Guide, which includes tons of info, photos, and tips for Star Wars Weekends!
