Hello and welcome to our Disney blog! We’re Sarah & Tom Bricker, and we founded this site as a place to assemble our photos, tips, and opinions about Disney. Our goal is a fun website providing informative and entertaining commentary to like-minded fans and tourists planning trips to the Disney Parks.
With that, we take seriously being objective and critical, but we still enjoy the parks a lot. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t visit the Disney parks so regularly or have a blog devoted to the subject. Our goal is to present a frank and candid assessment of all things Disney. You will seldom meaningless fluff words like “magical” here, and this blog most certainly is not “sprinkled with pixie dust.” This is written by real people trying to offer unbiased advice based on actual experiences visiting the Disney theme parks.
We take our honesty and integrity very seriously, and are proud of how we cover all things Disney. While we don’t believe we are biased towards anything (aside from excellence), as you can see, there are ads on the site. You can read more about the various bribes, kickbacks, hush money, and potential conflicts of interest on our marketing disclosure page.
Our personal approach to the Disney Parks is fairly laid back. While attractions are important, we try to savor the experience of being there with one another. We enjoy the art of the Disney theme parks, dining, and the exceptional ambiance that makes Disney theme parks so much more than just simple amusement parks or kiddie parks.
Since first opening the doors on DisneyTouristBlog, we have been honored and humbled at the response to our website. The site has seen a strong surge in readership, growing from 2 readers (our parents!) back in mid-2011 to over 11 readers today (the dog and cat count, right?).
There has also been a precipitous increase in hate mail, and the undeniable highlight of the site’s history is when it was attacked by robot walruses. That last part hasn’t actually happened yet, but we fully expect it to occur in the year 2055. Here’s where most websites would feature some reader testimonial quotes showcasing its greatness. Unfortunately, we could only find two such quotes that weren’t laced with vulgarity:
“Wow, this weblog is totally tubular.” -Tom
“Bodacious internet site, dude.” -Sarah
As you can plainly see, our many fans adore Disney Tourist Blog. Actually, the blog has been cited by the New York Times, MarketWatch, Huffington Post, Yahoo, BuzzFeed, Examiner, and a myriad of other resources far more reputable than this one…oh…and Perez Hilton! 😉
This is all great, but it is not enough. We started Disney Tourist Blog for the sole purpose of surpassing Google as king of the internet. Sadly, this day has not come (yet), but it has been a good ride, nonetheless. As for the future of DisneyTouristBlog.com? Well, there’s a great big beautiful tomorrow (and robot walrus) shining at the end of every day!
By the way, all photos on this blog are by us as are all of the blog posts. You will never find a guest post here, because we strive for this blog to have a consistent voice. If you’re interested in purchasing Disney photo prints for your office or restroom, check out some recommendations and tips (and where you can just download my photos for free).

i love your website and cannot help but read every post you share on facebook, and thanks to you we are probably going to visit WDW for the fourth time in 6 years (we honeymooned there as well and it was our first trip tp WDW.)
I’m just curious, as I read your comments on each post, why are there so many lousy jokes about kids?
Just found your blog a couple of weeks ago when we decided to plan our long awaited first trip to WDW (this October) and I started researching. I’ve been here every day since! Your posts are so informative and fun to read–THANK YOU for sharing your wealth of Disney information! It is incredibly helpful for a first-time planner like me. (PS: Your photos are gorgeous!)
Hi Tom and Sarah. Just wanted to say how much I love your site. I keep coming back to it as a reference when making Disney decisions, as I adore the writing style, honesty and humour the site provides. Of course, the fantastic photos speak for themselves.
My friend and I are in the process of organising a holiday this coming September (which is gigantic for us as we are travellng from Australia). We are tremendously excited, as when we went to Disney World in 2012, we made a promise to ensure we would get back there again. This time we are doing Disneyland, Universal and Disney World in the one trip over two and a half weeks (and on my oart, doing as much Diasy duck spotting as possible!) Since there is so much to think about with the planning, I will be on this site very regularly.
Thank you so much for bringing the online Disney magic to us!
Whoops – I meant Daisy Duck spotting! The merchandise for her is even rarer.
Thanks for the kind words–that sounds like some cross-country trip. Have fun and good luck with the Daisy Duck merchandise. I can’t say I’ve seen much, but I’m never really looking. (Although I do know one of our friends got a Daisy Duck cape from Tokyo Disneyland!)
Hm, well if I am ever after a cape I shall know where to go!
Really enjoy your blog and tips! I have a question about extra magic hours. We’re staying on Disney property for a week, but may try to stay longer and may have to stay offsite the rest of the time. If we have 10+ day tickets for the park, do you think we can still use EMH after leaving Disney property. Last year when we stayed on Disney property, we had to show our Disney passes before being permitted on rides during EMH. So, for this trip, if we have a few more days to spend after leaving Disney property, do you still think we can show our passes during EMH? I sure hope my question makes sense! Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!
I just found your site & as a fellow Disney Dork I cannot believe I hadn’t found it sooner! I absolutely love it. You have a regular reader, & new imaginary BFF. 🙂
You guys rock! My husband and I are also huge lovers of everything Disney and of course Disneytouristblog. We don’t get to visit as often as you as we are some 6520+ miles away, so we kinda live vicariously through you 🙂 Keep up the super awesome awesome work! Jaimee and Ben from New Zealand.
Thank you for the kind words!
Hi guys, just wanted to say that I have really enjoyed checking out your blog the last couple weeks. You have so much great information here and have already given me a bunch of great ideas for our next family trip.
We have gone to WDW every Fall since 2007 and have been lucky enough to experience either the Hallowe’en party or the Christmas party each year. We are a running family as well, and we are doing our first Disney run next weekend (Tower of Terror) and it will also be our first trip without the kids…very exciting stuff 🙂 We will be heading back in November for a surprise trip with the kids as well and are planning on doing your Christmas Resort Tour the day of the Party…what a great idea!
We even get to head back to WDW in January as we’re going to be doing the WDW Marathon weekend…my wife Michelle and our friend Rhoda are going to run the Half Marathon while I’m getting Goofy and doing the Half and the Full Marathon the following day.
Thanks again for a great site…I’ll be checking in often for new tips and ideas, as well as to follow you guys on your adventures.
Cheers to your great big beautiful tomorrows!
I absolutely adore reading your blog. My fiance and I are going to Walt Disney World for our honeymoon next October and I’m not sure how I will cram in all the things we want to do in just 2 weeks. Keep up the great work!!!
This has become my favorite website!! My husband and I didn’t get a honeymoon when we were first married, and are finally taking one this November to WDW!! I am an avid Disney fan, always have been. I’m going wondering the same thing as the above comment, do you have any tips for an adults only/honeymoon trip? (We will be staying offsite.) Keep the greatness coming, I have become engrossed in your site!!
Hey there Tom & Sarah!
My husband and I are going to WDW this December for our honeymoon. This might be an odd question, any tips on how to be an adult, couple, in Disney without kids & still have fun? Its an odd question to ask and phrase. Sorry if I sound like a dummy.
when you two have kids to take to Disney- it will be a whole new world!!!
Hey Tom and Sarah,
We can honestly say that your site is ‘the’ goto site for everything WDW…. The hours you put into your site, the quality of the edititorial, the PHOTO’s!!, the enthusiasm are second to … None! I’m sure that Disney couldn’t do much better than to pay you to publish your blog and photos directly, however your enthusiasm, honesty (and integrity) shine through in your posts…. So I guess this is a thanks, and a request to please keep it up for those of us who are over the pond and can’t visit as often as you can!)
(Btw did you ever visit “The Chapel” when you were near Edgware Road in London? 🙂 ..)
Hi guys,
I am so happy I found your site, I absolutely love reading your trip reports and looking at all your wonderful pcitures. My partner and I are heading to Disney World in November this year (2013) for our first trip. We live in Australia and it will be the first time for both of us travelling to the US 🙂
We were both very excited and booked our trip in May, then would you beleive, not even two weeks later we found out we are expecting our first child. I will be seven and a half months when we get there and although our trip will not be what we originally thought it would be we are still looking forward to it so much 🙂
I was wondering if you had any good suggestions for things to do as I won’t be able to go on to many of the rides?
Thanks for all the information 🙂
Hi Tom,
Love the blog! I stumbled across it while researching an article I’m writing for Celebrations Magazine. I’m a Disney Geek, too, and proud of it! I loved hearing you did your honeymoon at WDW, we did ours there too (but it was 22 years ago) and stayed at the (then) brand new Dolphin…I read about your excitement at going to Disneyland for the first time ( I think you said 2010?) and totally related. I went for the first time in ’02, and as many times as I’ve been to WDW it was still cool to walk where Walt started it all. Anyway, I know I’m rambling here, but I wanted to say I’m glad I found your blog and look forward to reading more in the future!

PS–if you go for any running events, I know several bloggers going for the Wine and Dine half. It would be cool to do some kind of blogger meet-up!
Hi Tom & Sarah! I stumbled across your blog while my fiance and I started planning our October 2013 Disney World honeymoon. I was so happy to see that you and Sarah are Valpo grads! Us too! (class of 2011). Small world. We love Disney so much and your blog has been so helpful in our planning (especially choosing restaurants). We can’t wait for October!
Oh wow! Class of 2007 and 2010 here. Enjoy your honeymoon!!!
Hopefully, I can do the name justice as I am at WDW for the weekend.
Loooove your site & pictures. This site is one of my favorites to visit & get my “Disney fix” until my next visit. Thank you!!!

WOW! I honestly can say that this is the most interesting blog I’ve ever read. Love that it’s coming from a young couple’s point of view, which is what I’m looking for. Also, the photography is awesome and it really makes me want to buy a nicer camera before my next trip so my pictures wont be so non-creative! Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your stories!
Glad you’ve enjoyed the blog, thanks for the kind words!
Awesome site! I thoroughly enjoyed reading many of your posts tonight. We are preparing to our first family of 3 adventure to Disney World this November, and you provided us with some helpful information to employ on our trip.
Also, I have always love the 50’s Primetime Cafe, and can’t wait to take our 3 year old there.
Keep up the great writing and love your photography as well.

cool and good job
