Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? Hopefully this blog can help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland, have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel in the world, and have dined at the majority of Disney restaurants.
Presumably, most of you coming to this site are here for Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip planning advice. Common questions you have can probably be answered by posts we already have written that pertain to these topics and contain links to most critical vacation planning info.
If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. Sorry, but we do not respond to emails pertaining to planning. If you have questions pertaining to trip planning or other topics, leave your question in a relevant post or contact your travel agent. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to emails soliciting advice regarding Disney. Please understand that doing so would take several hours per day, consuming too much time better spent writing blog posts and planning resources for all.
If you need comprehensive or personalized trip planning advice and help booking your trip, we recommend contacting an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disneyspeak for a travel agent). Try our sponsor, Be Our Guest Vacations.
We are just passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences. We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.

We took our kids to WDW for the first time December 2019. We plan on going again December 2021. Was thinking about a long weekend December/January this year and just hitting 2 parks to get a small Disney fix. Given all the COVID restrictions, is it worth it, or should we just wait until our planned 2021 trip and just do it bigger?
Hi Tom, please help, I’m desperate! Can you please do a post on where we can grab breakfast at Disney World right now? We’re there the last week in October and I can’t find many options whatsoever. Thanks!!!
How can I donate?
Hi Tom! I have been following your blog for several years. It must be so tough right now to do this type of thing. I want you to know that I really appreciate your posts. My husband and I are hoping to visit Disney World in 2021. My husband turns 50….and so does DW. My plan it to book a trip the first week of December 2021 as soon as the window opens. We have never been there during the holidays and that time seems as good as any. I do NOT want to go when it is busy, hot or during the hurricane season. No cold temperature in Florida is going to bother us….we live in Ohio where anything above 40 in the Winter is considered beyond wonderful! Given the issues with COVID, I wonder if booking out a year in advance is a good idea. Would we be missing out on the opportunity to score some possible deals? We have only been to DW twice before (2017 and 2019). We stayed at the two Port Orleans hotels which we loved. I want to book the Carribean hotel this time. We like to be comfortable, but our focus is on the parks. Our youngest son is graduating from high school so we will be free to go whenever we want for the first time in over 24 years! I would also love to go back to Disneyland. I am from California so that was the place we visited the most….it has been over 12 years since I have been in California since moving to Ohio.
Tom, are you sure about your #1 tip about making reservations on different country sites other than your own to find the best price? I live in the U.S., if you compare the U.S. prices to the Australian prices, the difference is substantial. Would Disney allow it?

For many people, it’s impossible to overstate the importance of this. There’s a certain x-factor that the Disney resorts offer that elevates the overall experience into something more special. This is true for us, and even with all of the complaints here, we still far prefer staying off-site. It’s tough to fully articulate why.
I think you meant to say: we still far prefer staying ON-site.
Sincerely, an old-school print writer/editor. (FYI I cover the Disney beat for a NY paper. LMK if you need my services.)
When will Annual Passes be available for purchase again?
Hello Tom,
I really enjoy your posts. They are very detailed and I can tell well researched. I am not sure if you can help me but I have tried for two days to reach a Disney consultant by phone, email, and chat with no luck. The people that finally answered the phone only placed me on hold again saying that they didn’t have the screens or ability to help me. I have linked our tickets and am on the next step of making my Theme Park Reservations. Is there anyway you could help me. I listened to the tutorial and attempted to follow the steps and kept getting a blank white screen. I really need the help of an expert. I hope you can help. Thank you, Lisa
Hi there:
Family of 4 here and we were planning our first trip to Disney in August 2020. That quickly got changed to October 2021 before being wiped off of the table altogether.
We would like to try again for the last week in August 2021. We saw on a few crowd calendars that is a good week to go. One thing I don’t see mentioned at all is the possibility of the entire 2021 season being busier than normal with people, such as us, planning make-up trips on top of those who originally planned to go in 2021. What do you think the chances of this happening are? It would be really un-fun if 3/4 of the season had Christmas / New Years like crowds.
Can you please advise on this? Thanks
Do you have any information on pin trading in the current environment at Disney World? We heard they are still doing it, in a modified fashion…but wondering where they might be set up in Magic Kingdom, HS, or Epcot?
Hello Tom and Sarah. I love your blog and appreciate receiving the updates. You have helped with a lot of my planning. Anyway, I have been putting off a trip for the last 3 years for various reasons. Finally we surprised our 3 kids this past Christmas with the news that we would be going to Disney and Universal November 2020. Here’s the thing, I haven’t cancelled our trip yet, but I know I should. We live in Canada and this is probably going to be our big trip to Florida and don’t know when we will be able to do it a second time. I’m pretty sure with how things are going we will be unable to attend this year (sad face). I am planning on rescheduling for next November. I just want to get your thoughts and any advice you may have for me. My kids will be 13, 11 and 8 next year at that time. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Just to add. I have concerns about planning for November 2021 as I’m worried that the crowds are going to be insane from people cancelling their November 2020 trip for next year plus all the other people who have been already planning for 2021.
Hi Julie: I just posted the same question – about extremely heavy crowds due to people playing make-up.
Love your posts! Incredible. Your photos and comments are amazing! Also love the stuff on Japan, a bucket list trip for my daughter and me. Hoping and praying the best for you and Sarah during all this craziness!
Tom, I read all your blogs regarding DW. We were scheduled to go for a week in April, which of course was canceled and we rescheduled for arriving on Nov 7 and leaving on the 14th. We purchased park hopper passes for our initial trip in April. I have two questions I am hoping you can help me with: 1) now that they are not allowing hopping, will we be able to get some sort of refund on our ticket prices, and 2) I would like to start making our daily reservations now. Which park do you suggest we go to each day? We have a six day ticket. I appreciate any and all thoughts you have on these two questions. Thank you in advance.
Hi Tom,
We’re looking for the Fish Lamps that were in the lobby of the Beach Club Resort in 1992. They were at registration and also on the tables in the hallways on different floors of the resort. I think they were orange but it’s been years ago.
Thank you,
CathyR
Sarah and Tom …
There is no date showing on any of your posts …. how can I tell when something was posted?
Thank you.
I was just going to comment on this! It is especially important with news items. I think it would be great the date was at the top with the title and author. Covid times have taught us that information becomes dated quickly. I just found your site and really enjoyed reading multiple pages- very well written but so frustrated with no dates!!!
Thank you for your wonderful posts. My son was wondering if they are wiping down the rides after each guest? Or is that simply impossible.
Hi Tom,
Quick thought. Your photos are incredible and are always a highlight of each update. You even convinced me to purchase the Sony A lll and I too love it. Have you considered adding a “Photos” section to your blog? The old “1000 words” saying really applies here and would make an already great blog even better.
Thanks for all you and Sarah do for us Disney Fans! We do however miss your smiling faces hidden under those masks!
Be safe.
Tom, would love a post in the next few weeks about the possible reopening dates of the Water Parks. Thanks, keep up the great work.
Hi Tom,
We would like to know your recomendation to visit Disney Orlando. We’re from Barcelona (Spain)
We are planning to travel to Disney Orlando next summer 2021. But seeing the possibility of new attractions during next year do you recommend us to travel in August 2021 or wait for 2022?
Thank you so much.
Hi Tom,
I’m wondering if you could address any advice you would have for people with POR and POFQ reservations for later this year. We’re huge fans of POR and are hoping it will reopen for our December visit–but I’m getting increasingly pessimistic on that. I’m trying to find out if it’s better to reach out to Disney or wait until they reach out to me. I really don’t want to end up at Coronado, and even Caribbean is just not as wonderful for us as POR. Thank you! And thanks for all your work bringing the magic closer to all of us during this terrible time. Stay safe!
