Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? Hopefully this blog can help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland, have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel in the world, and have dined at the majority of Disney restaurants.
Presumably, most of you coming to this site are here for Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip planning advice. Common questions you have can probably be answered by posts we already have written that pertain to these topics and contain links to most critical vacation planning info.
If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. Sorry, but we do not respond to emails pertaining to planning. If you have questions pertaining to trip planning or other topics, leave your question in a relevant post or contact your travel agent. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to emails soliciting advice regarding Disney. Please understand that doing so would take several hours per day, consuming too much time better spent writing blog posts and planning resources for all.
If you need comprehensive or personalized trip planning advice and help booking your trip, we recommend contacting an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disneyspeak for a travel agent). Try our sponsor, Be Our Guest Vacations.
We are just passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences. We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.

Hi Tom, I noticed that Hollywood Studios’ reservations are sold out June 7-10. Is something going on that would cause the park reservations to fill?
Hi Tom
What is the best day to visit HS? Should I stay away from Sat or Sun?
Hello Tom,
Can Disney World Platinum Annual Passes that have never been activated be sold or given to someone else? They were purchased in 2019 through Sam’s Club & I have the Exchange Certificates. The passes are good through 2030. They are linked to My Disney Experience account because I had reservations at one time that were canceled due to Covid. Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much for the amazing content you work so hard to put out. IT’S AMAZING! First question is, do you have a podcast? And second question, could you point me in the right direction of tips and tricks for WDW with a newborn? (well she’ll be two months old! So an infant). I’m struggling because usually I’m a rope drop to fireworks kind of girl, but I’m REALLY excited to have a more laid back trip if that is even possible. I’m thinking of staying at either the Art of Animation or Pop Century so I don’t have to fold down the stroller (skyliner) but I’d really like to stay at Coronado Springs 🙁 – however, we’re going week before Christmas so the buses will be busy. Not an option for us not to use the skyliner really.
Gah! That was a lot. Sorry!
Hey Tom, sorry to startle you today at MK, I recognized you as we were passing, even when your incognito in the mask. lol We were in a congested area… If it wasn’t such a busy area I would have stopped you just for a minute to thank you for the great blog over the years. It is one of my go to sites for Disney. Thanks again! Chris
Park Hopping.
Hi Tom,
I know you have posted information on how park hopping works (2pm for 2nd park, etc.)
We are planning a trip April 11-18 and have always park hopped so planning on doing that again. Even taken your advice and booked a couple of days a Studios and figure we’ll switch at least the 1st day or 2 if we can’t get RoR…..anyway, I was hoping you would have a post about you hopping. Have there been times you can’t hop? How can you check to see if a park is available?
Thanks…your website is the BEST!!!! I look at lots of sights and your site is by far the best as you try to be objective and give all the facts instead of just your opinion and of course I love your humor!!
Hi!
I was reading your “What to Pack for Disney” article and saw your picture with Eeyore. Eeyore is my absolute favorite character. I went to Disney World for the first time in September and the Crystal palace was closed so I was not able to see him. I was wondering if you could tell me how you saw him? Y’all have masks on so I assume it was during these COVID times. I’m going back in a few weeks and will do anything to be able to see him! I know Crystal palace is open for dining now, but it says online that there is no character dining. Any help would be SO appreciated.
Thank you,
Kassidy
I’m planning a one day park visit on Sunday Feb. 28th- my plan is to drive to the park from The Animal Kingdom Kidani Village hotel. My intent is to get there an hour ahead of MK opening time of 9am but I’m reading where they sometimes make cars wait until the Security is open and the health screening is open also. Do they open an hour ahead of the park? I know I have to park at the Transportation Center — and then take a boat or Monorail to get to MK, how early would you suggest we get to the Transportation Center? We are hoping to hop later in the day, but want to get as much in as possible.
Hi I’ve been a follower of yours for years and Disney fanatic. We had a wdw vacation cancelled last spring break due to covid closures.
We are planning a trip this spring break and wanted your help. I’m trying to figure out how to bring back the magic of fastpasses or characters or shows or anything besides waiting in lines for hours and hours.
Any suggestions? I can’t understand why there are no fast passes and instead people are forced to wait in lines forever sharing common spaces and risking getting covid.
The outdoor shows could be a place for people to get respite from the lines, seats could be marked off, actors could lip sync to prerecorded shows.
Characters could wear masks under their costumes and people could pose 6 feet away.
Castle shows could be put on safely while people watch outdoors.
Disney is not being innovative and it’s so disappointing to spend so much money for so little magic.
What do you think? Any ideas on how to get Disney to bring back more magic while keeping everyone safe? Disney is really missing the mark with the covid restrictions and it’s starting to seem like an excuse for them to save lots of money by providing less of everything we have come to know and love about disney world.
Does anyone in WDW decision making care about making Disney the happiest place on earth again?
Hello Tom,
I was just wondering if there is any rumor as to when the rest of the resorts will open at Disney World? My wife and I want to plan a trip for the end of November but the Riversides are not open yet and will the dining plan be back by then?
I’m considering a second trip to Disney BUT I found the food overpriced for the quality. Can you put your restaurant reviews on a map grid, so that when I am in a certain location, I can find a decent plate of food? $59 filet at the California Grill felt rushed in/out, the $23 cheese plate was very small bites and it was way too loud to be “fancy”. The food issue might make or break my return……Aulani is much better!
What the heck is going on with Disney vs Universal? Disney should have been sitting on piles of cash with the pre-pandemic response successes of their theme parks and multiple massive movie franchises. Yet Universal, with their inferior and less successful movie franchises, is still opening new rides and getting stuff done while Disney is steadily cutting back and canceling planned improvements. Before the response to the pandemic I would have said Universal will never catch, much less surpass Disney World, but now it appears that they are full steam ahead while Disney is out of gas.
Would like to see the Jungle cruise one last time before it’s revamped. Any word on when the changes will be implemented (disneyworld specifically)
Hello! I’ve been following your blog for years so thank you for all the great information and advice! I am hoping to plan a trip to Orlando over the summer. Do you guys have any insight on what may happen over the summer at WDW?
hello

Just wondering if you have updated itinerary plans for the parks – specifically for Magic Kingdom during the pandemic time – and no fastpass time.
Thank you for your blog – I’ve been reading it for the past 9 months in preparation.
Any idea when Spyglass will reopen, we are coming end of March and don’t wanna have to hike down to the main pool for a snack.
Thanks
Tom,
Would you ever consider doing a recap of your most “commented on” posts? The numbers on the Magical Express post have me wondering where it ranks on the list of your most commented on pieces. Love your (and Sarah’s) work!
Thanks!
Hello,
Now that magic bands are no longer free, if we choose to purchase one, will every member of our group need one or can I store all tickets/fastpasses for our group on one magic band?
hello,
do you know if french tourist (and fan of disneyworld !) can come in february 2021 ? (with PCR test ok of course) ?
i’ll be disappointed if i cant come this year…
i dont find any information for my travel. and it’s difficult to have a translater with wdw service of reservation.
thanks very much !
Hi Tom and Sarah,
Was wondering if you have a list of favourite Disney parks podcasts?
I have been listening to Disney Deciphered and Confession’s of a Disney Cast Member; but wondering if you know of (and suggest) any others?
Many thanks,
Lily
We actually don’t listen to any podcasts (Disney or otherwise) anymore. Nothing against any of them–there are undoubtedly some great ones–just not something we do. Sorry!
