Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? Hopefully this blog can help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland, have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel in the world, and have dined at the majority of Disney restaurants.
Presumably, most of you coming to this site are here for Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip planning advice. Common questions you have can probably be answered by posts we already have written that pertain to these topics and contain links to most critical vacation planning info.
If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. If you look on the right-hand sidebar, you’ll also find links to other key planning-related posts. You can subscribe to our FREE email newsletter here.

Sorry, but we do not respond to emails pertaining to planning. If you have questions pertaining to trip planning or other topics, leave your question in a relevant post or contact your travel agent. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to emails soliciting advice regarding Disney. Please understand that doing so would take several hours per day, consuming too much time better spent writing blog posts and planning resources for all.
If you need comprehensive or personalized trip planning advice and help booking your trip, we recommend contacting an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disneyspeak for a travel agent). Try our sponsor, Be Our Guest Vacations.
We are just passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences. We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.

Tom, your latest FL COVID update has a math error, I think.
You said that the rolling case rate is down 73%, but it appears that you calculated that by dividing the drop by the current number instead of the original number.
I’m not sure exactly which dates you used, but a month ago the rolling case rate over 7 days was around 21300, so the drop to 12660 is 8640.
That’s a 40% drop, not 70%.
If you divide by the current number, you get 68%, so you could say the case rate was 70% higher a month ago, but you can’t say it dropped 70%.
Thanks for your site, and please straighten me out if I misread you.
Thanks

Have you or anyone on heard when the Club Level rooms will re-open at the Poly?
We are going there next March and they do not show up as an option.
Dear Tom: Do you know if on the nights of the Mickey Christmas party, will the general public fireworks be at 8:00 pm park closing (those without the Mickey’s party tickets). Thank you.
Tom, I know you love all things food at Disney, and I was wondering if you know anything about Turf Club reopening at Saratoga Springs. We fell in love with the restaurant about a year before Covid, and we have a trip planned back to Saratoga right after Thanksgiving. Hoping it might be open, but have not seen or heard a word about it. What do you know?
This is an odd request, and I understand if you can’t help me with it. You are an expert on Impressions de France, and I was wondering if you could identify for me all the compositions and their composers used in the track included on the WDW soundtrack album. I already have the Impressions de France medley on a couple of my Amazon Music playlists, but I would like more of the individual numbers on my classical music playlist. I already have “Clair de Lune”, which I know is one of the compositions featured.
Hi Tom, love your website. My question is regarding the Howard Johnson Hotel in Anaheim. As an early riser I like to find somewhere nice to sit indoors to write my journal before the rest of my party is awake, are there nice indoor seating areas where I could sit in the morning at this hotel? I love the common areas in Disney Hotels but for this trip I don’t think I will be able to afford to stay there so I am looking for a nice themed hotel close to the parks that perhaps can provide me with a nice seating area. Would love suggestions.
My question is how far in advance you can make dining reservations which I know are currently 60 days. But all the info I read regarding this says 60 days out plus the length of your stay if staying at a WDW resort hotel up to 10 days. I spoke to WDW about this during an unrelated matter and they insist it’s only 60 days, even though I explained to them that their own website says plus the length of your stay up to 10 days. My WDW trip runs from October 30th to November 6, 2021 and according to my calculation, based on staying at a WDW resort hotel, I should be able to make dining reservations around August 23rd 0r 24th. Who can I call to clarify this?
I’m heading down for the birthday. My first time in over a decade. I’ve been impressed with your pictures. What type of camera are you using.
Hi Tom,
I would love to see information on the bathrooms at the Disney Resort Hotels. I am planning another trip to Disney World with my 88 year old mother. She does not need a roll-in shower, but needs a walk in shower. Every time I ask on the website they tell me there are no walk in showers, even though some pictures show them, with the exception of the Gran Destino Tower. I noticed in Sarah’s video of the new Poly rooms they had walk in showers. Are walk in only for club level guests at let’s say the Yacht club, etc.? Also, would like to know if the sinks are outside the main bathroom or included in the main bath. If outside the main bath, is there a door between the bedroom and the sink area. When someone is sleeping and someone else goes to the bathroom and wants to wash their hands they wake the sleeping person. If there are 2 sinks one in the main bath and one outside that is great for two people to get ready. I haven’t seen any Disney info centering on the bathrooms. Do the tub accessible bathtubs have any benches in them? These may not be important questions for a lot of people, but for those of us with elderly parents, these are important.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
I’m wondering if you have any info on if/when the trams will be back at Disneyland?
Hi Tom & Sarah, I’m wondering if you can do some sleuthing to find out what happened to the Disney Family website, a great resource for fun Disney-themed crafts, recipes, and free printables for our kiddos? I hope Disney didn’t take that away, too!! The website was family.disney.com, but now it redirects to Disney.com and there is no mention of Disney Family anywhere. 🙁
I have some information that, of course you will want to check out yourself, as I cannot guarantee the reliability of the cast member from whom I heard this statement: We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge on the back half of a split stay, and taking the boat back from the Magic Kingdom after park closing at night on Saturday, July 31st. Several people started talking with the skipper (this was one of the smaller boats with no interior, the fake wooden bowsprit, only one crew member on board), about various past things, such as how personal boats used to be able to be brought to the lake, how the water bridge uses physics to get the larger passenger boats across it, and how more marina activities were returning. Then the topic turned to the Sea Raycers, with a bad news/good news reveal. The Sea Raycers will not be returning and all but two have been destroyed. The reason: They were not Coast Guard compliant. The good news is that they’re going to be replaced with a new small boat (no idea what brand, he didn’t mention it, even if he knew). Also, there are plans for some age restrictions, and a course requirement if you’re below a certain age. Based on the 1988 date he mentioned, it appears those 33 and older are not required to take the course). The reason for the restrictions and new course is due to the interference with the ferryboats and the resort boats, with 14-year-olds (though 12-years old is still the minimum age listed) who don’t even know how to drive a car zipping around on the lagoon and lake.
So we were told. And so I pass on to you, who has a much better chance of finding out more about this, or something to consider placing on your radar.
Why haven’t you posted anything about how well the new masking policy is working? When will you post something? We’re going to WDW in a few weeks and I would like to know if the new policy is being enforced (I hope so); if people are complying (I hope so); and whether social distancing will be re-instated (I hope so).
Thanks,
Heard that Disney is reviewing AP attendance data from peak/capacity days during previous anniversary seasons at WDW to justify NOT selling new APs again for the foreseeable future, if not until the entire anniversary year has concluded. I’m a new-to-Orlando local and so very frustrated that I can’t afford to visit without one.
just curious I notice all your emails today do not have the option for comment. Is that for just me or everyone and wondering why.
Park reservations for Thanksgiving week are already filling up. Do you expect Disney to release more spots for that week?
Hi Tom,
I’m a casual/regular reader of your blog and I was wondering if you could put date tags on your posts. I would think that these would be particularly helpful on your resort reviews with the seemingly constant renovations going on. When reading a review on the Polynesian Resort (our DVC home resort) I couldn’t tell how old your review was and whether it incorporated the most recent renovations.
It’s just a thought/enhancement I had. Again, love the Disney Park and Resort updates.
John

Hi, Tom, we’ve been readers for a long time and I’ve found your blog incredibly helpful and interesting. We have a son with autism who is a Disney fanatic. The world is a chaotic place to him, but Disney World is a well-ordered haven. We’ve taken a number of trips south from Michigan to see Disney World. He is constantly asking questions about the park – detailed questions about its history – that I don’t know how to answer. Is there any way he could write you with his questions? He’s tried writing Disney with them but Disney keeps brushing him off. Any correspondence would be a huge boost for our son!
Many thanks for your columns,
Paul
