Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? Hopefully this blog can help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland, have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel in the world, and have dined at the majority of Disney restaurants.

Presumably, most of you coming to this site are here for Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip planning advice. Common questions you have can probably be answered by posts we already have written that pertain to these topics and contain links to most critical vacation planning info.

If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. If you look on the right-hand sidebar, you’ll also find links to other key planning-related posts. You can subscribe to our FREE email newsletter here.

If you have a media request, advertising, or marketing inquiry, please contact tom [at] disneytouristblog [dot] com.

Sorry, but we do not respond to emails pertaining to planning. If you have questions pertaining to trip planning or other topics, leave your question in a relevant post or contact your travel agent. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to emails soliciting advice regarding Disney. Please understand that doing so would take several hours per day, consuming too much time better spent writing blog posts and planning resources for all.

If you need comprehensive or personalized trip planning advice and help booking your trip, we recommend contacting an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disneyspeak for a travel agent). Try our sponsor, Be Our Guest Vacations.

We are just passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences. We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.

Thanks,
Tom Bricker

  1. You should do a post about how to get a paper map at each park. It’s become remarkably difficult. I just want my paper map so I can mark off what I’ve done with a golf pencil!!!

  2. Dear Friends
I just wanted to let you know with deep regret that my family will not be visiting your city or tourist spots this June, as Canadians we no longer feel like a friend or neighbour, your government’s actions and comments regarding a country, that has supported and fought with you for years is depressing. Thank you we hope that the relationship between our two countries will improve in the future. We will miss visiting your great state and of course Disney, as a proud Canadian we have no ill will towards Americans they are are friends and neighbours. Cheers
    Sincerely
    Patrick, Mary, Liam and Connor

  3. Hello! Thanks for all of the great tips and information. We frequent WDW and are planning a trip for NYE 2025 to celebrate a family milestone. We have been to Epcot on NYE before (2019 and 2023). We have always stayed onsite, but this year I booked the Swan because I was priced out of Yacht club (where the rest of my family is staying) but I wanted to be close. If the Epcot reaches capacity, what “tier” of closure would the Swan be considered? (Similar to onsite hotels?) In 2023 we still had a park reservation, so we easily left the park mid-day for a break and then returned in the evening for the party. In 2019 we stayed at Contemporary but definitely had dinner reservations at Biergarten to ensure our park entry. Trying to plan ahead.
    Thanks!

  4. Hi Tom, I appreciate your analysis on Canadian attendance. I did not find it political. I also appreciated the thoughtful remarks by Mark.

  5. I guess I missed my chance to comment on the Canada story, which is unfortunate for me. I wanted to share a story that may break your “no politics” rule, but I think you and your readers (all of them) will like what I have to say anyway. I guess you won’t approve it if you think it may cross the line, and sorry for this “workaround”, but I assume all your comments are moderated. I don’t want to “sneak through”.

I am Canadian. I am definitely cheering for Team Canada tonight, but unlike many of my fellow Canadians, I am not ok with booing your anthem or anti-American people rhetoric. I travel to the U.S. all the time, mostly for Disney and sometimes for NBA games, and I have found all Americans, coast to coast, in every context, to be as friendly, warm, welcoming and big hearted as anywhere in my own Country. And maybe even moreso. Regardless of state, or (apparent) politics, I love every American I’ve ever met, and there have been many.

I live in Alberta. This is a very conservative Province (=State). It’s often described, accurately, as the Texas of Canada. But I am largely a very liberal person, for the most part. I have many many great friends and family members, and most are conservative. Always have been, always will be. We love each other despite our differences, because we know the differences are very few, and nothing compared to what we share. It breaks my heart to see how partisan and divided we have become, both in my Province, and in my Country, and in yours. We have, in my Province, likely the most polarizing political figure in Canada, our Premier, Danielle Smith. Naturally I do not care for recent comments from your President, but I don’t hold you responsible for that, anymore than I want to be seen as responsible for my Premier’s (or my Prime Minister’s). I hope something will cause this anger and hate (on BOTH sides) to end soon, in a good way.

Anyway, to my story: Maybe my single proudest moment as a Canadian was in 2006. My hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers, was in the Stanley Cup playoffs in a series against the San Jose Sharks, and it was an ugly series on the ice. Regrettably, some fans in San Jose’s arena (for one game only!) booed the Canadian national anthem. I don’t know if it was a big story in the U.S., but it was in Canada.

How did we respond? For the rest of that series – and the entire playoffs as I recall – every home game in Canada every fan stood up and sang along LOUDLY to both Oh Canada and – even moreso – The Star Spangled Banner. That continued all through the rest of the playoffs, and as best I recall, American fans responded in kind. It made me proud then, and I wish I could say I felt that way about either of our Countries now, but I sure don’t.

Most of my friends (even the very conservative ones) are taking a “Buy Canadian, don’t go to the U.S.” policy. I am too much of a realist to see that as even possible – our economies are far too intertwined already. But I support their goals, and they support mine: I am still VERY looking forward to a long-planned trip this Summer to WDW and Universal. I hope I see some of you there, and we can give each other a warm friendly greeting!!

    1. Thanks for the incredibly thoughtful comment.

In real life, I think most people are like you, most of the time. The internet does seem bring out the worst in us all, heightening polarization and giving rise to more charged rhetoric than exists offline. Although at this point, that’s barely true. There’s been lots of needless antagonism towards Canada–so it’s unsurprising Canadians responded by booing the National Anthem.

While it did heighten the stakes on the 4-Nations matchups, dialing down the temperature on this is in everyone’s best interests. I don’t think any reasonable person can look at the developments of the last month or so and say it’s been in any way productive, or that the path we’re heading down is a sensible one. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

  6. I have read the restaurant reviews and liked the ‘best chocolate cookie’ noted better then Gideon’s Bakehouse. I didn’t note the location at the time, now I ‘m having a time of it find in the review. Please help.
    Thank you, Cheryl

  7. Greetings!

I’m Roni, an Outreach Manager with experience working with clients in the construction and home improvement sectors, including doors, fire exit doors, exterior doors, shipping containers etc. And we’re interested in the possibility of adding a relevant resource to that piece.

I’d be happy to share more details if you’re interested.

We’re also open to discussing a fair editorial fee that fits within our clients budget.

Waiting to hear back from you,
    Roni.

  8. I had a housekeeping gestapo incident in January 2025 at the Disney All Star Movies Resort at 9AM. “No! You must leave immediately!” Except this one wasn’t just a simple knock. It included harassing comments and threats by the housekeeper who wasn’t wearing a badge, by the way. And none of the other housekeepers could identify who I was talking about, or why an incident this would happen… sure. Someone is going to get this on video, and that’s when management is going to be in a heap of legal trouble.

  9. Tom:
I have loved and used your newsletter advice many times over the last several years and trips to WDW. However, at my age, future trips to WDW are going to be limited if I go at all. Probably time to unsubscribe, at least for now. How do I do that? Thanks for all your help, it truly was helpful!
    Matt

    1. Sorry to see you go!

There should be an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. If you can’t see that for whatever reason, most email clients have buttons towards the top now. Hope that helps!

  10. Dear Tom and Sarah, I love everything about your website! I love your writing style, attention to detail, and opinions. I have one little, itty bitty ask….please add publishing dates to your articles. I value every bit of advice so when I realize I’ve read through an article and find it doesn’t include updates. You often have updates, but I totally understand how it would be impossible to report on all new things and update the old. Please, please add publishing dates so we, your dedicated readers, can navigate through and find the most recent and relevant articles for our trips. Cheers! (oh, and if I”m just not seeing the dates, please let me know where to find them;)

  11. Hello,

I am reaching out to you because I’m doing some research for a mental health awareness campaign I’m working on. I was looking at a page of your site here (https://www.disneytouristblog.com/star-wars-rise-of-resistance-ride-report-compromises-improvements/comment-page-1/ ), so I thought I would email you.

I noticed that you mentioned mental health on the page. I’d like to know if you’re actively working with outside organizations to continue covering this vital topic on your website.

In short, the goal is to find sites committed to keeping their audience informed about key issues like mental health and wellness. I’d love to explore if there’s an opportunity to support and sponsor your website to amplify these efforts—even if it involves a contribution or fee.

Please let me know if you want to hear more about this project. If not, I understand and don’t expect a response from you. Whatever you decide, thanks for your consideration & time.

    Marie

  12. I agree and disagree with some of your food recommendations at WDW. Casey’s was horrible. I had the regular dog and my wife the fake meat one, both so bad we threw them away and got Starbucks sandwiches instead. Backlot Express was not bad but far too crowded, needs more seating. Yak and Yeti Local Foods was fair at best, only the egg rolls were edible. Docking Bay 7 was barely fair, twohe salad was terrible. Les Halles was great but needs more seating, had to sit outside on the fountain wall.

On the plus side the following were wonderful: Boma, Tusker House, Cristal Palace, Tony’s, Chefs du France, 50’s prime Time and Hollywood and Vine.

  13. Hi Tom,
My wife and I made plans for WDW for 12/19 -12/26 via our grandson who got us 7-day magic your way ticket with park hopper option (age 10+). I’ve torn my hamstring and will probably be undergoing surgery that week. Is there a way to sell the tickets so we can get some of our money back and they won’t go to waste?

  14. I bought Groot sweatshirt at Disney World Flordia at Epcot. It was the guardian of the galaxy ride went out to their shop and bought a dark green Groot sweat shirt. Had groot in front about 7 inches tall and on back of sweatshirt had the backside of groot on backside on opposited side. Wanting to buy another since I lost mine in Airport please call or let me know how I can purchase it was 60.00.

  15. WEIRD? The only thing WEIRD about the 1937 Snow White is Zegler. She is WEIRD, very WEIRD!

The creators of the 1937 Snow White are Amazing! With what they had to work with back then, they are remarkable! Shame that Zegler fells she needs to destroy a classic that could never be recreated.

  16. Hi Ton. I have received your wonderful Disney information in my email box for year. A couple of months ago, the emails stopped arriving. Is there something I can do to receive them again??

  17. Hi Tom! We love your newsletter. Thank you for all of the valuable information! We are coming in January and we used your coupon code to buy our tickets from GAT. I also just purchased a Sam’s membership to get the 10% off Disney gift card deal. However, once I visited the listing on SamsClub.com the $200 gift cards are coming up $190 instead of $180. Is this showing for you too? I was hoping to get the full 10% since we’re buying a few of them. Thank you again!

  18. Hi Tom. Love reading the newsletter each week. Heading to Disneyworld in April of next year. We usually stay at the yacht or beach club but with the main pool closed thinking of booking Boardwalk instead. Do you think that pool will be overcrowded if they allow guests from the other hotels to use it?
