Disney World Brings Back V.I.PASSHOLDER Days for Longer Run in Summer 2026!
Walt Disney World has announced the return of Annual Passholder appreciation days in Summer 2026. This post shares the V.I.PASSHOLDER details that were teased in the latest AP Buzz newsletter kinda thing in the My Disney Experience app, plus our commentary.
For those who missed out on the fun the last few years, V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days offer limited-time offerings just for Passholders coming to Walt Disney World Resort. It’s the company’s way of saying ‘thank you’ to the most valued guests for being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!
V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days will run from May 1 through July 31, 2026 and feature special perks just for APs who visit the parks during this shoulder season and summer dates. This year’s version of the event is a little over two weeks longer than last year, or a full month longer than 2024.
As part of the V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, APs will be able to take advantage of exclusive perks and discounts throughout the parks and resorts during the month-long appreciation event. Walt Disney World is still in the process of revealing details about the ways Annual Passholders can take advantage of the appreciation months, so keep an eye on our Guide to V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days for regular updates.
More details are to come soon, but here’s a first look at what’s coming…
Special Discounts – Specifics on the discounts for the 2026 V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days have NOT yet been revealed. Two years ago during V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, the discount at select Disney-owned and operated merchandise locations across Walt Disney World Resort temporarily increased from 20% to 30%.
Also back in 2024, Annual Passholders could enjoy an increase from 10% to 20% on discounts for food and nonalcoholic beverages at select locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort. This 20% discount applied to the regular price of food and nonalcoholic beverages, excluding applicable tax and gratuity.
Walt Disney World switched up the discounts for V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days last year, offering 40% off 5 select restaurants in two phases. From mid-May through June, eligible restaurants were Boatwright’s Dining Hall, Cape May Cafe (dinner only), Hollywood & Vine, Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood, and Tusker House Restaurant (lunch and dinner only).Â
Following that, the second phase of restaurants offered 40% off Monday through Thursdays in July. Those restaurants included Ale & Compass Restaurant (breakfast and lunch only), Coral Reef Restaurant, The Diamond Horseshoe, Tiffins Restaurant, and Whispering Canyon Cafe.
While we don’t know which route they’ll go last year, my hope is that the list will be longer than last year. While we took advantage of the 40% off several times last year, only 5 restaurants in each round was too few–especially given the dearth of ADR demand.
Spreading it out and offering 20% to 30% off a higher number of locations makes more sense to me. Walt Disney World really needs to get serious about filling tables. About the only thing of which we’re certain is that the Diamond Horseshoe won’t offer a discount this year (because it’s not a restaurant and is instead a dance party sorta thing for Cool Kids’ Summer).
Exclusive Lounge – While this has not yet been confirmed, it’s safe to expect that this is a reprise of the V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days Lounge. This was open from park 11 am to 7 pm in the Morocco pavilion last year, offering up light refreshments plus a place to unwind. Previously, the location had been a dining room in Sunshine Seasons.
The free AP lounge is subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Each Annual Passholder must be present and show their valid AP card, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile pass, as well as a valid government-issued photo ID to be eligible to enter the VIP Passholder lounge at EPCOT.
Free Magnet – The ‘main event’ during V.I.PASSHOLDER Days is the free magnet! Disney hasn’t revealed the character for the 2026 offering, but our guess is that it’ll be a character from a new marquee movie or attraction. So perhaps the Muppets if they’re leaning into the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster overlay or maybe something from Toy Story 5 or Baby Yoda.
My guess would be that it’ll once again be available at the Creations Shop in EPCOT, as that’s the go-to location. But I could also see Animal Kingdom being the pickup spot as attendance has improved at EPCOT and DAK is now the park most in need of an attendance reallocation.
…And So Much More – This is probably PhotoPass photo ops, which was the case last year. Maybe a few other, largely inconsequential, offerings that could fall under this umbrella.
Walt Disney World has also indicated that there will be new Annual Passholder merchandise, as well as exclusive food & beverage items. There’s usually an exclusive milkshake, sundae, and other random stuff. Plus merchandise with a few too many graphics on it, if you want to advertise that you bought an AP.
Ultimately, V.I.Passholder Days is an interesting initiative for boosting attendance at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom during shoulder season and summer, trying to win back alienated ex-Annual Passholders, and more. After a few years of Walt Disney World being able to ‘get away’ with pretty much anything and still see record guest spending and insatiable demand, consumers now appear to once again have more leverage.
This should be an interesting saga to follow, and it’s almost certain that we haven’t seen the end of Walt Disney World’s efforts to woo back former fans and pull “levers” to incentivize more demand and guest spending, especially if May through July 2026 prove to be as slow as the same months last year.
What we’ll be watching most closely are the extent of the efforts to draw fans to EPCOT when there’s no festival happening (“Diet EPCOT”) and Animal Kingdom while it’s a construction zone. Just how much will the offerings and discounts be weighted to those two parks? Our guess is quite a lot!
We’re also quite curious as to the degree of discounting. Last year’s approach to the restaurant discounts was, frankly, a bit puzzling. Don’t get us wrong, we loved saving 40% at Tiffins and Toledo–but it seems like the savvier strategy would’ve been 20% or 30% off a higher number of locations to fill more tables.
Our expectation is that table service demand will continue to decrease, especially if guests are feeling the squeeze from higher gas and other add-on costs. Offering discounts at a higher number of restaurants strikes us as the more logical approach–but the same was true ast year, so we shall see. All in all, V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days should be great for Annual Passholders. We can’t wait!

We got our Crush turtle magnet at AK late last year and they had a quarter of the merch store roped off and about 4 CMs to manage the crowds to receive a magnet….I took pictures, it was mid afternoon and the entire area was empty. We walked in the opposite direction/exit and they didn’t say a thing to us. I asked for extra magnets for all 3 of us APs and they didn’t even ask for us to verify it on our app. Driving around CFL I see the magnets on many cars, meh, our magnets hold up little one’s art projects on the fridge. I’m not into them but we do like turtles. I did get the custom WDW plate with DVC on it so I can keep it as a keepsake instead of returning it back to the DMV. The magnets aren’t the “thing” Disney thinks it is. It reminds me of the people who hover around the food sampling stations at Costco or Publix, it doesn’t drive purchases. I’m interested in how Coral Reef will be included in this year’s deal since it is mostly only dinner now, though last year the deal was breakfast/lunch? The food isn’t that great and overpriced (bland Sysco) but watching sharks and fish in the aquarium while you eat is fun for little one. I know, Disney doesn’t see it that way. Instead of discounting and limiting availability, how about Disney leans into the ocean theme and make Coral a character themed restaurant for little mermaid and Nemo? I know, I know, then iger couldn’t expense as much out to Disney for his yacht tours around the DHL islands in his skinny capri pants.
Magnet lines were out the door and more when I was at AK around Princess weekend this past February. I went back at a different day and time and walked right in. Really depended on when you hit it. I think still popular.
Do we have an idea when the restaurants and their specific dates and discounts may be announced? Would love to take advantage of this opportunity for our early May trip.
Last year I took advantage of the 40% AP dining discount to experience Tiffins for the first time. We’re going back again in July, this time staying at BoardWalk with the 40% AP room discount – first time back at a Deluxe in years! Grandkids are dining free. Looking forward to whatever additional AP perks will be coming my way.
Wish they would offer more for the month of August it’s the only time we can vacation as a family and it never seems to offer many perks like the rest of the year has.
If they are trying to increase demand at specific restaurants, it would make sense for them to offer the steeper discounts for those particular restaurants, but if demand overall is low, then of course spread the love around.
I’m looking forward to finding out what the promotions will be. None of the incentives you listed moved the needle much for me, though I could see finally trying Tusker House and Tiffins if they are on offer again. The AP lounge is likely to be harder to get into than a DVC lounge (and with no MMB to LL our entry), but we’ll certainly go by to check it out. Photo pass ops are okay, if my kid is willing to take the photo (which is iffy these days), and the magnets are usually cute, but like most promotional items are going into a landfill some day.
All that said, here’s hoping 2026 will build on previous, on-board the need to really wow the guests more, years and be even better.
Already this July I’m pretty stoked with the Disney+ discount making a Cars Family Suite legitimately a good deal, and my kid is eating free. This is going to be my cheapest WDW since we started visiting. Granted, that was only a year ago, but we’ve been a few times!
