Food & Dessert Guide to 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

The holiday season is here, and sweet treats are returning to Walt Disney World! Magic Kingdom has themed snacks and desserts for 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party available November 7 through December 22, 2022. In this food guide, we’ll take a sneak peek at the special items available for purchase during this hard ticket event.

Walt Disney World’s culinary teams have cooked up some yuletide yummies for the 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. During that event, the highlight for many guests is stopping for the “free” cookies, hot cocoa, and other holiday refreshments. There are stations to get these all over the park, and different cookies are served at each of them. Although reasonable minds can differ on this, I think these free refreshments are delicious. (More on this in a bit.)

In addition to that, several restaurants and snack spots will be open and offering even more Christmas-themed items that are available for purchase. If our experiences in the past–and the stock photos and descriptions Disney has shared–are any indication, some of these are worth seeking out, whereas others are a waste of time and money unless you buy food for Instagram photos.

Turning to the complimentary cookies and hot cocoa, Walt Disney World hasn’t shared the lineup and where each can be found this year during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Our sincere hope is that things go back to how they were “way back” in 2019, which was the last year the event was held. During that, here were the various “free” refreshments and where you could find each:

  • Pinocchio Village Haus: Snickerdoodle Cookie, Hot Chocolate, and Fanta
  • Storybook Snacks Cart: Snowman Pretzel
  • Miner’s Cove: Peppermint Cookie
  • Friar’s Nook: Chocolate Chip Cookie
  • Lunching Pad: Ginger Molasses Cookie and Apple Cider
  • Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café: Peppermint Cookie, Hot Chocolate, and Apple Cider
  • Jungle Cruise: Ginger Molasses Cookie
  • Tortuga Tavern: Snowman Pretzel and Fanta
  • Golden Oak Outpost: Snickerdoodle Cookie
  • Diamond Horseshoe: Chocolate Chip Cookie and Eggnog

(We’ll update this lineup if it ends up being inaccurate once an official one is released.)

Just thinking about them as I write this makes me hungry, and transports me back to memories of many a cold night sipping on hot cocoa to keep warm (it doesn’t work, but hey, why not try?!). Lines for refreshments can get bad near the front of the park near the parade-time and during the first half-hour of the event.

Assuming this lineup holds true, the best place to go for the free refreshments is Cosmic Ray’s or Pinocchio Village Haus. Not only do they have the most diverse lineups, but also the most efficient setups. Other locations typically only serve one item each. My favorite of the cookies is the Peppermint Crunch–anyone who doesn’t like that cookie is just plain wrong. (Snickerdoodle and Ginger Molasses Cookies are also top tier.)

Personally, I’d recommend just sticking to the free/included refreshments rather than buying anything extra–you already dropped $125+ for each party ticket alone. That’s especially true with the conspicuous omissions of yule logs, waffle sundaes, and weird burgers. (On the plus side, at least they put the Cherry & Pistachio Float out of its misery–Disney should’ve been paying guests to consume that culinary abomination!)

Finally, we also have more info about Table Service Dining & Dessert Parties During 2022 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We don’t recommend doing any of this, which is probably a good thing, because reservations already opened and have filled up–so you’d have to luck into a cancellation at this point if you didn’t already book an ADR.

As explained in greater detail in that post, reserved viewing for Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks is totally unnecessary. Even if it were, the reserved viewing area is not a great spot for viewing the fireworks (for the best spots, check out our Magic Kingdom Fireworks Viewing Locations Guide). Finally, these cost a lot and consume valuable MVMCP time, making them a bad use of resources (both time and money!) during this short special event.
