Walt Disney World Resort Guests Save Up to 25% Off Future DCL Sailings

Earlier this week, Walt Disney World dropped a new bounceback discount of up to 35% off resort rooms for recent Disney Cruise Line guests! Now the tables have turned, and DCL has released a new future sailing offer for recent WDW resort hotel guests. Here are full details, plus a list of eligible sailing dates & ships.

For starters, to be eligible for this discount, you need to have a current, recent, or upcoming stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel in 2026. If you don’t already, you might want to book with a special offer for the WDW side to save on both that hotel stay and the future cruise. For the general public, there are only two room-only discounts currently available at Walt Disney World, offering up to 25% off and 30% off depending upon travel dates.

More discounts at Walt Disney World are likely coming within the next month or so, and that will likely cover dates deeper into the year. We’re also expecting another release of summer discounts including multiple ticket deals, and (hopefully) more aggressive last-minute resort discounts that once again offer ~2019 pricing. Whenever more discounts are released or rumored, we’ll send you an alert ASAP if you sign up for our FREE Walt Disney World newsletter.

As for this new Disney Cruise Line discount being extended to recent Walt Disney World guests, there’s undoubtedly going to be some confusion. It’s basically the opposite of yesterday’s special offer: Walt Disney World’s Biggest & Best 2026 Discount on Resorts Expanded to Recent DCL Guests!

To clarify, this is not a land and sea deal on WDW + DCL bundled vacation packages. This is basically a bounceback deal or a twist on DCL’s onboard offer, just targeted differently than normal.

Hopefully that makes sense. Now let’s dig into the specifics of the Walt Disney World Resort Guests: Save Up to 25% Off Voyage Fare on Select Sailings Special Offer:

Keep the magic going! Guests who recently stayed in a Walt Disney World Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort can save up to 25% off your voyage fare on eligible sailings—including departures from Florida, Texas and California—when you book a Disney cruise within 7 days of your current check-out date at select top tier resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort.

See list of sailings to save 20% or 25% off voyage fare below. Save 10% off voyage fare for most other sailings (blockout dates apply). Here’s the list of eligible sailings for each ship:

The remaining sailings not listed above are 10% off, albeit subject to blockout dates. In perusing those, all of them are around Spring Break 2026 and 2027, as well as this Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are no blockout dates for the Disney Adventure or Disney Magic. This 10% off even includes the new Disney Destiny!

This Future Cruise Offer is only available to Guests who book a cruise within 7 days of check out of select Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort. The offer is non-transferable, meaning that at least one member of the original Resort hotel party must sail in one of the staterooms.

As always, we highly recommend working with Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Be Our Guest Vacations is our preferred travel agency, and they have many agents with extensive cruise experience and expertise.

Using a travel agency is incredibly advantageous when it comes to cruising–most will provide on-board credits based upon the size of the booking, along with itinerary advice and suggestions for the cruise. They’ll also deal with Disney on your behalf and, speaking from experience, this can be invaluable when something goes wrong. Especially if, like me, you hate talking on the telephone.

There is no mention of which Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts are the eligible “select” ones, but our assumption is all of them. Disney frequently uses this select language even with a categorical offer without exclusions.

The lack of an eligible hotel list strongly suggests it’s any resort in those two top tier categories, and likely does not make a difference whether you pay with cash or book with DVC points. (As noted below, you can’t book the cruise with DVC points–but that same restriction is not applied to the hotel reservation.)

Disney Cruise Line voyage must sail within 24 months after the Guest’s check-out date from their stay at select Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort. Cannot be applied to existing cruise reservations. Limit one cruise reservation and a maximum of 2 staterooms per household.

Here are some other important details:

  • Savings based on the non-discounted voyage fare for the same stateroom type and sailing.
  • Discount applies to voyage fare. Taxes, Fees, Port Expenses, Port Adventures and Gratuities are not included.
  • The following stateroom categories are eligible for this offer: categories 04A through 11C.
  • The following stateroom categories are not eligible for this offer: Concierge and suites.
  • Standard cancellation policies apply.
  • The number of staterooms allocated for this offer is limited.
  • If a confirmed reservation is changed and the future cruise is not an eligible sailing, this offer will not apply and the prevailing voyage fare as quoted on DisneyCruise.com will be charged.
  • Blockout dates apply, and eligible sailings are subject to availability and change without notice.
  • Cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts, including the Guaranteed Staterooms with Restrictions (GTY) Offer.
  • Disney Vacation Club Points cannot be used to book sailing.
  • Offer is subject to availability.

Our Commentary

DCL’s ‘deluge of deals’ is something we first discussed in Rising Tide of Disney Cruise Line Discounts. I don’t want to rehash all of that, but the core point was that prices had skyrocketed for DCL due to pent-up demand for cruising, which lagged the theme parks due to the slower phased reopening. Over the last year, we’ve seen a significant increase in DCL discounting with revenge travel burning off.

Prior to this, Disney Cruise Line released a new discount of up to 20% off select sailings in Spring & Summer 2026. This is the latest of several special offers that are currently available, including a restricted categories deal that offers savings of up to 35% off. Obviously, this targeted future cruise offer is better than the current general public deal but not superior to the restricted categories one. That’s definitely not apples to apples, though.

If you’re looking at sailings further into the future, it’s probably worth noting that last year brought a 40% Off Sale on Halloween & Christmas Sailings. That flash sale lasted one week and it was right before the start of the new fiscal year. We wouldn’t be surprised if that discount makes a comeback in late summer and early fall of 2026. Walt Disney World also had a lot of discounts around that same timeframe.

That was just one of several special offers Disney Cruise Line released last year. There was also ‘50% Off 3rd & 4th Guests on Select Sailings’ special offer, stackable $250 onboard credit for Disney Visa cardholders, as well as a deal similar to the 20% off discount that DCL just released. There were also a variety of special offers on select ‘Categories with Restrictions’ sailings.

Ultimately, I won’t pretend to have my finger on the pulse of the cruise industry; nor do I track DCL discounts as (over)zealously as with Walt Disney World and Disneyland to the point that I feel comfortable offering analysis about historically good vs. bad discounts. As someone with an upcoming DVC stay with an eye on one of these San Diego sailings, I’m very tempted by this deal, though!

Disney Cruise Line has already been following the post-COVID trajectory of the parks in terms of discounting. My assumption is that this means even more aggressive DCL deals in 2026, and there were already some pretty attractive ones last year. My advice for anyone with a current or upcoming stay at a Deluxe/Villa Walt Disney World Resort would be to book this as a hedge, and then watch–or have your travel agent watch–for better discounts on the horizon. That’s what we’ll be doing!

  1. I thought DCL cancellation policy was really restrictive. How do people book placeholders with that policy?

    1. I’m not an expert, but I believe if you are modifying your reservation (ie changing dates or room categories) they will just apply what you’ve already paid towards the new reservation, so you don’t actually lose any money.

If you want to fully cancel the reservation, it depends on how much notice you give them. If you let them know 120 days before sailing, you get a full refund. After that they keep the deposit, then 50%, and finally the full cost of the cruise depending on how much notice you give them (I think 30 days before sailing is the cutoff to get at least some money back). I think it’s a pretty standard cancellation policy in the cruise industry.

  2. I have 3 veranda staterooms booked on Disney Fantasy for 10th October ending on 17th followed by a weeks stay at Beach Club on DVC points starting 20th October (even though there is a 3 night break at Universal). Do you think I would qualify for this discount?
    Thanks

  3. We just got off the treasure on Saturday after a 5 night stay at wilderness lodge prior.
used the bounce back to book a September trip to WDW. And a cruise placeholder to hook a sailing on the Fantasy in February 27 which DCL automatically bumped that savings up to 20%
then saw this post and thought “well if we don’t book were just loosing money” 🙂 so just booked treasure for January, saved 25%
Had to call DCL…they looked me up to see if I qualified for the deal. which I did. past 7 days since check out. so it must have been based on upcoming stay. or with the discounts they are throwing around this week…maybe they aren’t to strict with the rules?

  4. This seems like it could put a damper on the value of the placeholders DCL sells to people on cruises. Just stay one night at a deluxe resort and you can get the same or better discounts.

    1. I suspect they’ll be closely monitoring this for any signs of that happening. Probably why they’re limiting it to the top tiers.

My guess is that it won’t be an issue. “Just stay one night at a deluxe resort…” is a lot more friction than the first word in that sentence implies. 😉

If it does incentivize more Deluxe Resort stays, that probably ends up being a net positive–and without coming at the expense of DCL bookings.

  5. So if I have a reservation for a Disney Resort in December 2026, am I able to use this discount on a sailing before my reservation?

    1. No. It must be booked after you’ve completed your reservation on-prem.
