2019 Black Friday Weekend Disney Deals

Black Friday 2019 sales continues this weekend with more great deals on Disney toys, books, collectibles, travel accessories, gadgets, tech, and more! In this post, we round up the best discounts for your Walt Disney World vacations, or that will make great gifts for the Disney fans on your Christmas gift-giving list. (Updated December 1, 2019.)

While Black Friday is almost a week later than normal this year, retailers seem to be making up for that by offering some aggressive deals to get retail sales flowing! We’ve already received a ton of emails the last couple of days from retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon–plus our favorite deal aggregators about some super sales. Of course, not all deals are created equal, and some “special” offers are simply marketing.

That’s where this post comes into play–separating the cream of the crop from the marketing fluff to bring you the best deals related to Disney and travel! In this post, I’ve aggregated the best deals–some of which are Disney-specific, whereas others are non-Disney items. This includes a lot of fun items for collectors, parents, people doing gift shopping, plus things that will be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations…

Black Friday is increasingly dominated by a few major retail players, most notably Amazon.com. If you want a broader selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Black Friday Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals. For Disney fans, we’d recommend checking out using code AMAZING in ShopDisney’s Black Friday Sale for up to 50% Off. (Note that while we obviously can’t promise anything, ShopDisney’s Cyber Monday sale is almost always better than their Black Friday deals.)

Many things on sale for Black Friday are also on our 2019 Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide for Disney Fans or our Ultimate Walt Disney World Packing List, so double win! Even without special offers, those are great ways to get your holiday shopping started–or create your own Christmas list!

We’ll add and remove Black Friday deals as new discounts spring up and disappear. Also of note is that once this weekend ends, Cyber Monday begins. Suffice to say, there’s good reason why this is the biggest shopping week of the year, and there are a surplus of deals for Disney fans and travelers!

Note that many online retailers are not getting in on the action until Cyber Monday, or are saving their best discounts until Monday. We’ll hit refresh and be back with another list of Cyber Monday deals. We’ll start with our top picks across all categories…

Top Picks

Thomas Kinkade 2020 Disney CalendarKinkade Studios returns with another dreamy Disney landscape calendar, with some fantastic scenes. Our favorites feature Winnie the Pooh, Tangled, Mickey & Minnie, and 101 Dalmatians (the last of which is the best–can’t go wrong with puppies!).

Frozen 2 Monopoly – Half off this edition of the Monopoly board game that celebrates Anna and Elsa’s journeys through Arendelle, with royal decree cards, family chest cards, and snowflake spaces/tokens that offer an icy new twist on Monopoly.

Disney Apples to Apples – 40% off this award-winning card game with a whole new twist–just watch out for the poison apple card, exclusive to the Disney version.

Disney A to Z: The Official Encyclopedia – By the incomparable Disney Legend Dave Smith, this comprehensive encyclopedia covers everything you want to know about the Walt Disney Company, from theme park attractions to songs, and animators from Disney films and shows and so much more!

Aukey Slimline Phone Charger 20000mAh External Battery — A super slim charger that’s perfect for keeping multiple phones fully charged while at Walt Disney World, which will be imperative if you’re using My Disney Experience for FastPass+, or using social media. This one has a huge capacity—enough for the entire family. (Be sure to apply the coupon!)

Firestick 4K with Voice Remote – Now that Disney+ has struck a deal with Amazon, this is a no brainer at 50% off!

Marc Davis in His Own Words: Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks — This monster of a book by Pixar director Pete Docter and Imagineer Christopher Merritt is nearly 50% off, which is a great deal. It’s a passion project about one of the true Walt-era Imagineering heavyweights, who was a driving force behind Country Bear Jamboree, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, it’s a small world, Jungle Cruise, and more.

Travel Gadgets

9 Piece Packing Cube Set — Anyone who has read our Ultimate Disney Parks Packing List knows that I swear by these things. This set is is a great deal!

Compression Packing Cubes — These are compression packing cubes, which normally cost more and will save you even more space when packing. If you need the suitcase space, this is the way to go.

Packable Backpack — This is great not just because it’ll take up minimal room in your suitcase, but also (and more importantly) because it’s super lightweight. That minimizes the amount of back-sweat you’ll have to endure from the Florida heat and humidity. 😉 It truly makes a world of difference!

Aukey 6-Port USB Travel Quick Charger — Some newly-refurbished Disney hotel rooms are starting to get better about having enough charging ports, but we still always travel with one of these to charge our phones, cameras, watches, etc. at night.

TravelPro Crew11 Suitcase — TravelPro is the only brand of suitcase I use (see my Luggage Tips & Recommendations post), and at 63% off, this is a great deal. The blue and brown versions are even cheaper, but I’d stick with black. It’s the most popular brand with flight attendants, and for good reason—mine still looks new after years of heavy use.

50% Off Samsonite & American Tourister LuggageWe far prefer the TravelPro above, but these prices on Samsonite and American Tourister sets are so good that they bear mentioning if you’re in the market for new luggage and favor this style.

Travel Eye Mask – Sarah uses this for flights and hotel rooms to block out all light for better sleep. She’s a huge fan.

Disney Books

Poster Art of the Disney Parks – There’s a good chance you already have this, but it’s worth mentioning given that it’s nearly 50% off. If you or a Disney fan in your life doesn’t have it, it’s a must-buy. (Read our full review here.)

Ink & Paint: Women of Walt Disney’s Animation — This book is a beautiful, informative book that’s shockingly large, making it perfect for coffee table display as well as in-depth reading. At nearly half-off, it’s a great deal, too.

5-Minute Frozen Stories – At half-off this new Frozen book, you’re getting a really good deal on a stocking stuffer!

Be Our Guest: Perfecting the Art of Customer Service – Disney Institute, which specializes in helping professionals see new possibilities through concepts not found in the typical workplace, is revealing even more of the business behind the magic of quality service. (Be sure to apply the coupon!)

3 Books for the Price of 2

Amazon has a Black Friday promo offering 3 books for the price of 2. To take advantage, simply add 3 items from the books on this page to your Shopping Basket via the “Add to Basket” button. The offer will be automatically applied to your total at checkout.

Here are our recommended titles from this offer:

Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters – This is the popular “autograph book substitute” we recommend in our Ultimate Packing List, and you honestly might just want to order 3 copies of this if you have multiple kids or friends with kids going to Walt Disney World. It’s a really clever idea to use this as an autograph book, and it’ll make a nice keepsake for your kids.

The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company – I’m currently about halfway through Bob Iger’s memoir, and am loving it. Surprisingly candid and transparent.

Disney Storybook Collection – A large, 300+ page hardcover book retelling several classic Disney stories complete with artwork from the Disney Archives.

Disney Princess Cookbook – From Rapunzel’s Frying Pan Eggs to Ariel’s Sea Turtle Cupcakes, this beautiful cookbook is filled with delicious recipes inspired by the Princesses’ many adventures.

Disney Ideas Book – The perfect rainy-day gift for kids who love Disney and enjoy crafting. More than 100 arts and crafts, party games, puzzles, paper craft, and many other fun & practical activities.

On the higher end of the spectrum, all 4 of the books pictured above are included in the ‘buy 3 for the price of 2’ offer. This is a killer deal if you’re in the market for 3 of these titles (we haven’t read/seen the Star Wars Archives, but the other 3 are fantastic options–presumably the Star Wars book is, too.)

Links for each of these:

Disney Toys & Games

Lionel Disney Mickey Mouse Express Train Set – If you’d prefer a more traditional train, this awesome Lionel holiday train set with remote is a great alternative to the LEGO one below. At 47% off, it’s a great deal!

LEGO Disney Train & Station (with FREE Christmas Tree) – The best LEGO deal we’ve found thus far, but be warned that LEGO.com is having server issues, so checking out might be a frustrating ordeal.

LEGO Disney Princess Ariel’s Royal Celebration Boat – The Little Mermaid buildable playset featuring a celebration boat with gazebo and revolving dancefloor, ship’s wheel, vanity and firework launcher, plus a dock and Sebastian’s island with turning starfish decks!

Sphero BB9e App-Enabled Droid – The Sphero Star Wars droids are awesome, and this is the best deal of the bunch. If you’ve never played with a Sphero before, you’re in for a real treat.

Disney Frozen 2 Elsa Musical Doll Elsa sings “Into the Unknown” and says 14 film-inspired phrases, and also has a dress that lights up in a gorgeous pattern inspired by a dramatic film moment.

Disney Frozen Elsa’s Ice PalacePlayset with lights, sounds, and the hit song, “Let It Go.” Discovery Buttons “magically” reveal the staircase with lights and sounds, and also grow the castle with snowflake action. Includes Elsa and Olaf figures. (Be sure to clip the coupon here!)

Mickey Mouse “Hot Dog Dance” Plush – I don’t know what this dance is…and I’m not sure that I want to know…but this is a good deal if your kids are into this sort of thing.

Slinky Dog in Retro Packaging — Good for kids, but arguably even better for adults given the retro-styled packaging, which reminds me instantly of the Slinky Dog Dash queue!

Other Disney Stuff

Oral-B Minnie Mouse Toothbrush – Really want to test your kids’ love? Get them a toothbrush for Christmas! This is a great deal on an excellent electronic toothbrush (we have the same one, albeit minus Minnie Mouse).

Mickey Mouse Watch – I like the all-grey design here. A playful design that’s classy and not too eye-catching.

Enesco Disney Traditions Fab Four White Woodland Figurine – A beautiful collectible figurine vignette featuring Mickey Mouse and friends making a snowman, on an elaborately patterned rectangle base. (Note: this does *not* have free shipping.)

Travel Deals

Get Away Today Walt Disney World & Disneyland Ticket DealsThrough December 2, 2019, you can save up to $98 on Walt Disney World tickets (via promo code BLACKFRIDAYFL). Alternatively, you can buy score Adults at Kids’ Prices on Disneyland tickets. The Disneyland deal can also be stacked with hotel bundles to save even more. (And you’re also locking in ticket prices now before the inevitable February 2020 price increase.)

We cover both deals along with other recommendations in our Walt Disney World Money-Saving Ticket Tips and Discount Disneyland Tickets posts.

Discount Disney Gift Cards – We shared this last week, but will post it again here as this is a great way to save on literally every aspect of your Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation.

Right now, BJ’s Warehouse Club has the best deal, but we’re hoping Target and other retailers match by Cyber Monday!

Frontier Airlines: Save Up to 90% Off – Use promo code SAVEBIG for airfare discounts of up to 90% off on select routes, including some to MCO. There are a lot of restrictions and limitations, but it’s nonetheless worth checking out.

We do not like Frontier Airlines at all, but the savings here are undeniable if you happen to have a route that is deeply discounted.

Orlando, Florida to Tokyo, Japan Airfare for $500! – Obviously, most of you don’t live in Orlando (there are also deals to Tokyo from many other cities), but Air Canada is offering great deals on roundtrip flights to Tokyo–from a number of other cities in addition to Orlando.

With the time difference between the two cities, you’ll likely be landing back in Orlando at roughly the same time you leave Japan, making it easy to accomplish a “two parks in one day…on two continents” challenge!

That’s all of the currently “live” Black Friday weekend deals for the Disney fan, but we will be updating this list throughout the weekend, so stay tuned. Also, if you want to help out with the process, please share any Disney-relevant (either actual Disney products or ones that are useful when going to the parks) deals you’ve found in the comments!
