There’s a new 2024 Florida resident discounted ticket at Walt Disney World with deals on 2-day and 3-day tickets for locals. This shares info & details about the limited-time offer, commentary about this Floridian special offer, and historical comparisons.
This is one of several new deals; if you also need to add a hotel stay, Walt Disney World has released discounts of Up to 30% Off Walt Disney World Resorts for Florida Residents through March 24, 2024. This is just one of many discounts available right now at Walt Disney World.
Thanks to those resort discounts and this special offer on a multi-day Disney Thrills Ticket, Florida residents can join in the excitement of the everything new that debuted last year at Walt Disney World–from TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom to Luminous: The Symphony of Us and Moana’s Journey of Water at EPCOT.
Florida residents can purchase a 2-Day Disney Thrills Ticket for $199 plus tax (total price: $235 plus tax). For even better savings and a lower per-day cost, there’s the 3-day ticket for just $219 plus tax. These discounted Florida resident tickets are available for purchase starting January 11, 2024.
The Disney Thrills Ticket is valid for use from January 11 to March 15, 2024 with an advance park reservation. Reservations are limited and subject to availability of reservations allocated to this ticket as determined by Walt Disney World, and park capacity.
In plain English, this means that Disney is releasing a limited “bucket” of reservations just for this ticket–so availability for other ticket types doesn’t guarantee it for this deal. Large swaths of the promo timeframe are the slowest stretches of the year, so that won’t be a problem most of the time. It definitely will over holiday weekends and school breaks, though, so plan accordingly and make reservations ASAP if you plan on visiting during those periods.
With this specially priced ticket, you can experience a world of magic and thrills in the theme parks. And you can visit Walt Disney World for the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts–a celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts that takes place from January 12 to February 19, 2024.

The 2024 Florida Resident Disney Thrills Tickets are flexible. Tickets can be used on consecutive or nonconsecutive days, subject to theme park reservation availability (which is currently wide open for the duration of the promo period)—so you can spread out your visits.
Floridian Thrills Tickets are valid for admission to one theme park per day (theme park reservations are required and are subject to availability). Tickets and add-on options expire March 15, 2024. All tickets and options are non-transferable and nonrefundable and exclude activities/events separately priced (such as After Hours at Magic Kingdom).
Proof of Florida residency required. All adults will need to show proof of Florida residency at park entrance. Both a theme park reservation via the Disney Park Pass system and valid theme park admission for the same park on the same date are required.

- Park Hopper Option $40 More Per Ticket, Plus Tax.Visit more than one theme park on the same day. You must make a theme park reservation for each date of your visit.
- Water Park and Sports Option $35 More Per Ticket, Plus Tax.Visit one theme park per day. Plus, get a certain number of visits to a water park, golf course or miniature golf course based on the length of your ticket. For example, if you purchase a 3-Day Florida Resident Disney Thrills Ticket with the Water Park and Sports Option, you can visit a Walt Disney World theme park on 3 days with an advance theme park reservation—and visit a Disney water park on 3 additional days by March 15, 2024.
- Park Hopper Plus Option $55 More Per Ticket, Plus Tax.Visit more than one theme park on the same day. Plus, get a certain number of visits to a water park, golf course or miniature golf course based on the length of your ticket. This option is a combination of the Park Hopper Option and the Water Park and Sports Option.
You must make a theme park reservation for each date of your visit.
As a reminder, the 2024 Florida Resident Disney Thrills Tickets do not offer the Genie+ add-on. Previously, this could be purchased for the duration of the tickets at a flat-rate charge of $16 per day. However, this option has been retired for all tickets and Genie+ now uses date-based per-park pricing that ranges from $16 to $39 per day.
Most dates during this ticket promo will be at the lower end of the spectrum, in $20 territory for Multi-Parks, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. For those wondering how this Florida resident rate compares to last year’s discounted tickets, they’re significantly more expensive. Last winter, Walt Disney World offered a 2-Day Disney Weekday Magic Ticket for $175 plus tax, or a 3-Day Disney Weekday Magic Ticket for $195 plus tax.
The year prior to that, the 2-Day Florida Resident ticket cost $149, the 3-Day version was $179, and the 4-Day Florida Resident ticket option cost $199. So the 2-day ticket for 2024 is the same cost as the 4-day for 2022.
That’s interesting given that 2022 was the height of pent-up demand and new additions, whereas 2024 is the backside of revenge travel. Things are slowing down, and Walt Disney World is generally offering more discounts.
The big difference, and why this is not an apples-to-apples comparison is that the above mentioned tickets from the last couple of years were weekday only and subject to blockout dates. That’s not the case with these tickets, which gives them a much higher value for locals with normal 9 to 5 jobs or school schedules, which is precisely why they’re more expensive. So it’s really less a price increase and more a different type of deal with tickets offering more value.
For our part, we’re pleased to see Walt Disney World not block out weekends. For the last year, Saturday and Sundays have been the least-busy days of the week at Walt Disney World, which is a trend partially due to ticket deal blockouts. This won’t undo that dynamic completely (AP blockouts, higher hotel prices, etc.) are also to blame, but it’s a start.
If you’re trying to choose the best dates to visit or ones to avoid, consult our 2024 Walt Disney World Crowd Calendars. There are going to be many dates that have low crowds during this Floridian ticket promo–but also, many dates that will have heavy crowds.
Ultimately, the 2024 Florida Resident Disney Thrills Ticket offer is the best way for locals to save on park admission right now, especially those who want to visit on weekends. However, if you prefer visiting on weekdays and won’t get added value out of Saturdays and Sundays being included, you really might want to look at the lowest tier of Annual Pass, instead. It’s pricier, but also gives you hundreds more days and, consequently, a per-visit cost that is potentially far less expensive.
As we’ve mentioned elsewhere, we’re expecting 2024 to be a huge year for Walt Disney World discounts as demand returns to reality and the company realizes that revenge travel is continuing to fade. With that, they may find that ticket deals that are more expensive than the last two years aren’t going to cut it–we wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see the return of the 4-parks ticket deal from last year (that wasn’t limited to locals) and a variety of other options to lure back fans and entice them to visit during the slowdown. The question will be whether demand can be reignited solely by discounts. I think Disney whittled away at a lot of its goodwill and the nostalgia in a very short time. And it just doesn’t seem like Disney executives understand what drives multigenerational visitors to Disney. And I don’t think it’s all money related. Nobody likes the price of stuff going up. But people who spend once in a lifetime money ought to have a once in a lifetime experience. And that’s not the sense I’m getting any longer.

ugh- i was really hoping for a ticket discount deal for non frorida residents for the beginning of March.
Disney does too good of a job of spreading out their discounts. I took advantage of their hotel deal for the time frame starting March 25 and I was hoping they would release a 2 park ticket deal. Now they did, but ends 10 days before the March 25 hotel deals kick in. This would have been perfect.

Best line: “backside of revenge travel.” I laughed out loud! For some reason I get targeted Florida resident promo emails though I don’t live in Florida. I wish that were proof enough of eligibility for these deals! My guess is that by including my in-laws on a couple of our trips, and they are florida residents, was enough to trigger it in my account somehow. Oh well!
