Best 2022 Amazon Prime Early Access Sale Disney Deals!

Prime Early Access Sale is Amazon’s new “epic” two-day deal event starting October 11, and promising holiday shopping season discounts over a month before Black Friday or Cyber Monday. This post rounds up the best deals during Amazon’s “Christmas Before Halloween” deal days for your Walt Disney World vacations, plus products that will make great gifts for yourself or others. (Updated October 12, 2022 at 12 pm EST.)

If you feel like you’re having déjà vu all over again, that’s because Amazon Prime Day already happened this summer. This is Amazon Prime Early Access, which is essentially a bridge between the last sale and the holiday shopping season. Hence the “Early Access” name–it’s a headstart on Cyber Monday sales exclusively for Prime subscribers. (If you’re not already a member, click here for a FREE 30-day Amazon Prime trial membership that allows you to take advantage of these deals!)

Like Prime Day was Amazon’s “Christmas (shopping) in July” sale, this is the company’s “Holiday Headstart” deal days. Amazon’s unstated goal is to undercut its competitors, moving forward the shopping season in an effort to move excess inventory. This is something we’ve mentioned before when discussing a sudden spike in discounts (including on merchandise at Walt Disney World and Disneyland), and it’s known as the bullwhip effect.

For the last two years, retailers could barely keep items in stock due to record consumer spending and supply chain disruptions. That resulted in businesses ordering more and merchandise, much of which wasn’t arriving in a timely manner. As pressured have eased in 2022, inventories have surged to record levels…right as consumer spending started to shift to services.

Retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and more now face a glut of inventory as inflation-squeezed shoppers are making fewer discretionary purchases due to the rising prices of gas and groceries. Consequently, retailers are reporting a steep jump in inventory levels from a year ago from a mix of items not selling and supply chain delays easing. This is great news for consumers looking for bargains–deals now abound as retailers look to unload excess inventory!

This post aggregates the best Amazon Early Access Day deals likely to be of interest to Disney fans and travelers. Some items are Disney-specific, others are travel gadgets that are not exclusively Disney-related. The former are fun items for collectors, parents, people doing gift shopping, and so on. The latter are practical items that would be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations.

If you want a broader selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Early Access Sale page for the biggest savings and most popular deals. Even then, the options can be overwhelming, as there are literally tens of thousands of items on sale for the Prime Early Access Sale.

As with any of these promotional event sales, some “special offers” are great and some are…not so special. We’ve combed through the various deals and are sharing only those we deem good. We receive a small commission from Amazon for your purchases, so buying through these links helps support the site. However, neither the price you pay nor our recommendations (or lack thereof) are impacted by that.

We’ve purchased these items ourselves, have friends who recommend them, or are debating the purchase. It should be clear from each item’s description how we feel about a particular product. On with the list of the Best Amazon Prime Early Access Sale deals for 2022…

Disney Travel Accessories

Personal Neck Fan – We bought one of these neck fans last summer, and it’s shockingly effective. It’s like that refreshing feeling you get when walking past an open doorway of an air-conditioned building. It’s not perfect, but it’s a really fantastic idea, and is a breath of fresh air during hot and humid days in Florida (which is ~10 months of the year). If you want a more powerful and high-tech model–check out the TORRAS Coolify Portable Air Conditioner Neck Fan, which is also on sale.

Anker Slimline Phone Charger 10,000mAh External Battery Pack — Even before Genie+, we recommended bringing a backup battery pack to charge your phone while using My Disney Experience or social media at Walt Disney World. This one has great capacity and the fastest quick-charging capabilities. This is the battery pack we bring to the parks now—perfect for the two of us. BE SURE TO CLIP THE COUPON FOR 30% OFF! (The updated USB-C version is also on sale.)

Anker 335 PowerCore 20K Portable Charger – Double the capacity of the above charger and with USB-C fast-charging as the default. The downside is that it’s larger, but the value for money is great.

Anker PowerPort Cube Strip with 3 Outlets and 3 USB Ports – Disney has refurbished many of its rooms, adding USB ports in the process, so this isn’t really necessary for those. It is for many off-site and older hotel rooms, though. Plus, this has fast-charging to get devices recharged quicker. CLIP THE COUPON FOR $2 OFF! (There’s also this “future-proofed” version with USB-C.)

Life Straw Go Filter Water Bottle — Florida water tastes awful straight from the tap, so it’s key to get a bottle with a filter. This bottle is the best option, hands down–what we take to the parks every day. It’s durable, BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and uses a 2-stage activated carbon filter reduces odor, chlorine and leaves zero aftertaste! It may not seem like it, but this is a GREAT DEAL (look at the normal price–this is an excellent water bottle).

Hydro Cell Water Bottles – This patented, BPA-free design is a cool idea that’s new-to-us, but incredibly popular. It’s a great way to keep drinks cold all day long, too.

Repel Travel Umbrella – This is windproof, durable, and compact. You may not think a windproof umbrella is necessary for Walt Disney World, but during storm season, it absolutely is. (We’ve also lost multiple umbrellas under the Spaceship Earth “wind tunnel.)

Gonex Compression Packing Cubes – They key here is that these are compression packing cubes, which normally cost more and will save you even more space when packing. If you need the suitcase space, we recommend this set over the one below. At 38% off, this is Amazon Early Access Sale price is cheaper than we’ve seen during past Cyber Mondays.

Packing Cube Sets (Multiple Sizes) – Another staple of our packing list, we are fans of packing cubes and these are a solid deal. (With that said, there are a LOT of packing cubes on sale, so you might want to browse the results for “packing cubes” on the Amazon Early Access Sale page and see which sizes/colors/etc. best suit you.)

Maxtop Packable Backpack — Takes up minimal room in your suitcase and more importantly is super lightweight. That minimizes the amount of back-sweat you’ll have to endure from the Florida heat and humidity. (Seriously, it makes a world of difference!)

BCOZZY Chin Supporting Travel Pillow – This is new-to-us travel pillow is incredibly popular, rating better than our favorite pillow (that had its design cheapened and no longer scores well). At 52% off, it’s worth checking out!

Save 39% on Crocs – So ugly, yet so incredibly comfortable!

Disney Home Goods

H2O Bath Products – Okay, so H2O products are not technically “Disney.” However, given the reaction to the news that Walt Disney World’s bath brand is ending…I think it’s fair to say that many fans have a strong sentimental attachment.

Mickey & Minnie Salt & Pepper Shakers – The vintage style figural ceramic shaker set features the original Mickey and Minnie head design from 90 years ago! According to the Amazon product page, they can double as…cake toppers?! (That doesn’t seem right.)

Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts Inflatable Lawn Decor – We highlighted this incredible inflatable last week, and now it’s on sale for 38% off as part of the Amazon Early Access Sale! It’s not as good as the gigantic skeleton from Home Depot, but it’s up there!

Disney, Star Wars & Marvel Hoodies – These low key hooded sweatshirts feature retro inspired designs and are mostly simple and sharp-looking. I especially like the yellow Mickey Mouse and blue Boba Fett styles.

Ravensburger Disney Treasures from The Vault Minnie & Mickey 1000 Piece Puzzle – For those unfamiliar with the brand, Ravensburger is a high-end board game and puzzle maker. They have a few Disney designs on sale for Early Access, including a Three Caballeros design and this Minnie & Mickey puzzle.

Thomas Kinkade The Disney Collection 4 in 1 Multipack Puzzles4 puzzles in 1 package, with 500 pieces per puzzle!

Cricut Items – I say the same thing whenever this stuff is on sale: I have no idea what any of it does. Sarah said I should add it because her friends love this for Disney use, and there are some great deals on the various products.

$10 Off $50 Purchases

$10 off $50 Purchases – As part of the Amazon Early Access Sale, you can take $10 off $50 purchases of select items, including many Disney board games, toys, and accessories.

  1. Add items from the products page to your cart.
  2. When you’re done shopping, select Go to Cart.
  3. The offer will automatically be applied at checkout, if eligible.

Magical World of Disney Trivia (2,000 Questions) – This game is perfect for superfans to casual viewers questions covering a wide range of Disney and Pixar stories, and with easier questions for kids. (Part of the $10 off $50 promo.)

Mirabel Encanto Fashion Doll – All things Encanto still seem incredibly popular, so taking $10 off this with a $50 purchase is noteworthy. (The doll itself isn’t discounted.)

Princess Activity Tote – Pretty far from my area of expertise, but this playset looks fun (maybe?) and offers great savings as part of the Amazon Early Access Sale and the $10 off promo.

Captain Minnie Mouse Disney Cruise Line Plush – Stuffed animal featuring the new-ish Captain Minnie Mouse from DCL. Looks reasonably high-quality to me, although I’m not the ultimate arbiter of that.

Disney Descendants Audrey Doll, Inspired by Disney’s Descendants 3 – I have absolutely no clue what this is (Descendents is Disney…right?!), but the toy is 35% off.

Funko Disney Happiest Day Magic Kingdom Game Visit exciting attractions, meet cherished characters, and experience magical moments throughout Magic Kingdom–a great way to relive the magic, complete with a 3D Cinderella Castle and day-to-night versions of the park. This is 20% off, plus part of the $10 off $50 promo for the Amazon Early Access Sale.

Disney/Pixar Puzzle (2,000 Pieces) – Featuring scenes from films. (Also part of the $10 off $50 promo.)

Hocus Pocus: The Game – Another board game for your Halloween gatherings. In this, players work together to protect Salem’s children and stop the Sanderson sisters from completing their wicked potion before the sun rises. Play potion ingredients to the cauldron and match all the colors or ingredients.

Villainous Disney Strategy Board Game – This Halloween-adjacent game is hugely popular and the winner of several prestigious ‘Game of the Year’ awards. We aren’t as big of villains fans as others, but it’s undeniably good (to be bad?).

Both of the Halloween-adjacent games above are also part of the $10 off $50 promo. There are a ton of other eligible products that are eligible for that $10 off, but nothing else seems worth highlighting. The games that follow have their own significant savings as part of the Amazon Early Access Sale…

Disney Games

Funko Disney It’s a Small World Game Collector’s Edition – It’s the happiest cruise that ever sailed! And you’ll be truly happy when cruising through checkout saving a whopping 46% off this game!

The Little Mermaid Monopoly – Take 32% off this version of Monopoly, which celebrates Ariel’s under the sea world.

Disney-Pixar Monopoly — Another great Monopoly deal at 46% off.

Disney Eye Found It Card Game — A card game version of the standard board game that we normally recommend—and an even better deal (40% off).

Haunted Mansion: Call of The Spirits Board Game – I’m a total sucker for cheesy and cheeky board games, as well as Walt Disney World board games. This is the perfect intersection of those interests. It’s a fairly strategic game that’s easy enough for kids but also deep enough for adults. At 56% off (or only $11!), this one is a MUST BUY!

Funkoverse: Marvel 100 4-Pack Strategy Board GameFour Avengers Funko Pop! movers made exclusively for this game. Each character is unique and has their own abilities, with game modes that include Scrimmage and Siege that allow you to explore the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and Shuri’s Wakanda Laboratory.

Funko The Rocketeer: Fate of The Future GameA two-player strategy game that immerses the players into the events of the movie and the golden age of Hollywood. Play a game of cat-and-mouse with the rocket plans and keep them hidden from your opponent. Original illustrations and design that evokes the art deco style of the 1930s, and are inspired by the 1991 Disney film. (44% off!)

Sorry! Board Game: Disney Villains Edition – This family game combines classic Sorry gameplay with a wickedly fun Disney Villains inspired board, Spell cards, and 16 Villain pawns.

Something Wild! Mickey & Friends Character Card Game — Another fast-paced and easy-to-learn family card game featuring beloved Disney characters and Pop! pocket figures.

Disney Books

Disney Eats: More than 150 Recipes for Everyday Cooking and Inspired Fun – From healthy snacks like a Minnie Mouse-inspired crudité platter and savory dinners such as Mulan’s Blossom Stir-Fry to Disney-character-themed bento box lunches and easy-prep treats such as Frozen Banana Dalmatian Pops, author Joy Howard shows that the creative possibilities are endless. 56% off for Amazon Early Access!

Disney Princess Cookbook – Same idea, but with recipes inspired by princesses. This one is 63% off for Early Access.

Thomas Kinkade Disney Coloring Books – Given that color and light are the whole point of Kinkade paintings, this strikes us as an odd one. Still, a great deal at 48% off.

The Haunted Mansion Little Golden Book — Disney Parks just started doing this new line of Little Golden Books last year, and they have been crushing it so far. We absolutely adore the art and style—they’re great for anyone with kids, theme park fans, or anyone who was a kid and has fond memories of Little Golden Book.

There are many other Disney Little Golden Books, which each appear to be $1 or $2 off today. (Savings might be better during Cyber Monday, as there’s typically a ‘book bundle’ discount for spending $25). In any case, here are the other titles:

Disney Storybook Collection — A large, 300+ page hardcover book retelling several classic Disney stories complete with 250 pieces of artwork from the Disney Archives.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic – If you’ve followed this blog around Christmas-time, you know we are huge fans of Muppet Christmas Carol. I’ve seen it more than any other film (the next closest is Terminator 2, for those keeping score at home).

The Art of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – This offers an inside look at the magic behind the Disneyland and Walt Disney World lands, documenting the art and innovations that led to the creation of Galaxy’s Edge. Featuring hundreds of full-color concept artworks, sketches, blueprints, photographs, and more, the book reveals Walt Disney Imagineering’s creative process.

Poster Art of the Disney Parks — This features posters from around the world, including a ton you’ve never seen before. This book was curated by Walt Disney Imagineering, and it shows—the design and artwork is fantastic. (Note that a new edition of this book is now available, but it costs over twice as much.)

Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making More Magic Real — This huge book by WDI is a classic that belongs in the library of every fan. This beautiful title is actually a sequel to another excellent book that’s now out of print (that we’d also highly recommend).

A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of The Most Magical Place on Earth – Last year’s #1 book by far and one of our all-time favorite Walt Disney World titles was impossible to find at Christmas. It’s available once again, and at a ~27% off discount.

This is Walt Disney World’s “Nickel Tour,” which is the highest praise possible. It’s going to be the souvenir that creates new lifelong fans among Walt Disney World first-timers, and the spark that sets young kids on a lifelong career path. For more effusive praise and why you should buy it, read our book review. (Or just buy the book and read that instead.)

Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks: Celebrations Around the World — This is an incredible deep dive into the holidays (mostly Christmas and Halloween, but also Easter and other seasonal events) with great photos, detailed information, and rich history. If you love the seasonal events, this is an absolute must-own.

The Imagineering Story: The Official Biography of Walt Disney Imagineering – This is the companion book to the highly acclaimed Disney+ documentary series, The Imagineering Story. This title greatly expands on award-winning filmmaker Leslie Iwerks’ narrative of the fascinating history of Walt Disney Imagineering. Pre-order it for 23% off.

Maps of the Disney Parks — This is a staple of our gift-giving guides, and that’s in part because it looks really nice, making it an eye-catching gift. We covered this in our Top 10 Disney Park Books list, but it bears mentioning again.

Marc Davis in His Own Words: Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks — This behemoth is by Pixar director Pete Docter and Imagineer Christopher Merritt, and it’s a passion project about one of the true Walt-era Imagineering heavyweights who is behind a bunch of iconic attractions, including Country Bear Jamboree. CLIP THE COUPON TO SAVE AN EXTRA $20!

Walt Disney’s Disneyland — This is one of my favorite Disney books of all-time. Anyone who has owned or even held a TASCHEN book knows why this is something special. At a whopping 68% off, this deal cannot be beat! Seriously, this is an incredibly high-quality coffee table book…at under $20?!?!

The Disney Monorail: Imagineering a Highway in the Sky — If you’re a fan of Disney’s monorails (who isn’t?!), you’ll love this. There’s a ton of concept art and photos, as the authors take readers on a historical ride the Highway in the Sky. From Walt Disney’s Progress City ambitions to the future of this innovative transportation system.

The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company — This is past Disney CEO Bob Iger’s memoir, and it’s shockingly candid and compelling. Iger is clearly a smart and interesting guy, but all of his interviews are played fairly close to the vest and feel meticulously scripted. This is a sharp and fascinating departure from that. Highly recommended!

The Walt Disney Film Archives. The Animated Movies 1921—1968 – Another great TASCHEN title, for an unbeatable price.

One Day at Disney – I don’t like this book, but it’s a popular one and the price is right at 55% off. YMMV.

Disney Toys

Disney Princess Fashion Doll CastleKids can imagine the “Comfy Squad” Disney Princess characters lounging in style in this large doll house, which stands over 32 inches tall. Castle includes a sofa, vanity, stool, wardrobe, shell-inspired chair, and a bean bag chair so kids can imagine all the dolls relaxing together. Can’t speak to the quality or appeal of this, but it’s a great deal!

Frozen Arendelle Castle – Same idea, but Elsa’s ice palace. At 64% off, it’s an even better deal than the princess castle above.

Disney Villains Maleficent Fashion Doll – It’s like a Barbie, but Maleficent. Wow, what will they think of next.

Galactic Snackin’ Grogu — A follow-up to last year’s the Child Animatronic Edition, which won several “Toy of the Year” awards. This new version is inspired by Grogu eating his way through the galaxy in Season 2 of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Snacking expands the range of Baby Yoda’s interactives and reaction. The Child Animatronic Edition is also a great deal–and even cheaper!

LEGO Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Resistance Y-Wing StarfighterBuild, play with and display a collectible missile-firing, bomb-dropping LEGO Star Wars Resistance Y-wing advanced starship model, featuring a color scheme as seen in the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie. 30% off for Prime Early Access.

Raya and The Last Dragon Sisu Dragon Doll – Good deal on this 26 inches long character plush from the movie.

Fire 8 HD Kids Tablet — An educational and entertainment tool for kids with parental controls, goal-setting, time limits, plus 1 FREE year of Amazon Kids+ with access to over 20,000 apps, games, books, videos, audiobooks, and educational content from PBS Kids, Nickelodeon, Disney, and more.

LEGO Disney Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters – This consists of classic-style Mickey Mouse collectible figures, and is categorized as an adult building kit. 30% off for Prime Early Access.

Disney Treasures from The Vault, LE Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Plush – These Amazon exclusive dolls are made in partnership with D23 as part of the Treasures From the Vault Plush collection. They’re now almost half off.

Okay, that’s it for right now. There are a bunch of other great deals that are irrelevant to Disney and travel (but also don’t appeal to me) on the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale homepage. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!

Also, check back here throughout the deal, as I’ll share more Lightning Deals as they become available if they’re any good. Oh, and if you find anything that you think would be useful for other Disney fans, please share in the comments below!
