Value Resort Rankings at Disney World
Which Walt Disney World Value Resorts are best & worst? This list ranks Art of Animation, Pop Century, and All Star Movies, Music & Sports. Our #1 hotel might surprise you, but we’ll cover why it’s our top pick–plus pros & cons, photos, transportation, and other info about each! (Updated May 3, 2023.)
If you’re unfamiliar with Walt Disney World resort pricing or how far your money will go, start by consulting How Much Does Walt Disney World Cost in 2023? That should help you narrow down your search to a tier or two of different on-site or off-site hotels. Walt Disney World can be unexpectedly expensive, so be sure you calculate all costs before booking.
For those who have a bigger budget or want to splurge (as always, we’re big fans of split stays!), you might also consult our Moderate Resort Rankings and Deluxe Resort Rankings. If you really want to be inundated with info, check out our Rankings of ALL Walt Disney World Hotels from Worst to Best. (Spoiler: #1 is a Value Resort!)
If you’re trying to do Walt Disney World on a tighter budget, the good news is that the Value Resorts can be great hotels. They’re excellent options for people who won’t be in their rooms much, families with small children who enjoy animated characters, guests doing Disney on a dime, or even those who are frugal and don’t think the higher-tier hotels offer sufficient bang for buck. (As much as we enjoy the Deluxes, they’re tough to justify without great discounts!)
To be sure, the Value Resorts are more expensive than off-site accommodations, but the added perks like park transportation and Early Theme Park Entry can tip the scale in their favor from a money-saving perspective. In Are Walt Disney World’s Cheapest Hotels Actually Good? (second spoiler: yes, they are!), we make the case for choosing Value Resorts over off-site accommodations or more expensive on-site ones. Frankly, we love the Value Resorts and think they’re tough to beat from a cost-benefit perspective. (Truly living up to their name!)
Let’s begin the breakdown of Value Resorts by discussing the single biggest differentiator among them, which is transportation. Previously, this simply focused on bus transportation, which tends to be better at Pop Century and Art of Animation. This is the case because the three All Star Resorts sometimes (but seldom) share buses.
Now the much bigger reason is the Skyliner gondola transportation. This offers aerial transportation from a shared station between Pop Century and Art of Animation to Caribbean Beach, where guests transfer for either Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Total Skyliner transit time from Art of Animation or Pop Century is under 10 minutes to DHS or under 15 minutes to Epcot. This is a considerable improvement over buses.
We’ve used the Skyliner countless times, including from Pop Century to rope drop both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. In our view, this transportation system is an absolute game-changer. Instead of relying on inconsistent and unpredictable buses–which can be frustrating if you’re in a hurry–you can take the smooth Skyliner for efficient transportation to two of Walt Disney World’s most popular parks, plus a whole bunch of hotels.
With that said, the Skyliner hasn’t been free of problems. It goes down regularly between the months of June and September due to storms, and bus transportation often is not efficiently deployed as a backup. Due to this, and the nature of the transportation, those with fears or heights or other concerns may not wish to use it.
For those guests, it’s less of a perk and more of a drawback for both Pop Century and Art of Animation. The Skyliner is built into the cost of both hotels, and is a huge advantage that justifies the premium pricing…but only for those who will use it. If you will not use it, you’re paying extra for no reason. (Moreover, Pop Century and Art of Animation have scaled back their bus frequency to Epcot and DHS, doubling disadvantaging those who don’t use the Skyliner.)
Now, let’s cover some commonalities of the Value Resorts. All of Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts are large and spread out, and don’t have internal transportation. We don’t consider it that long of a walk, but if you are trying to herd a slew of kids, you might disagree. At every Value Resort except Art of Animation, preferred rooms are available that are located closer to the lobby, but they have an additional cost.
Standard rooms are all fairly similar, too. It cannot be stressed enough that the Value Resorts are very basic accommodations in terms of the rooms. These rooms are small and along the lines of what you’d find at a nicer Best Western or Motel 6.
Disney fans may gasp at that comparison, but we feel it’s true–at least to an extent. The big way Disney’s Value Resorts deviate from other budget accommodations is that they include Disney decor, which alone is probably enough for the average Disney fan or guest to consider them a great deal superior to those other brands of hotels. The point is, at their core, these are not high-end hotel rooms.
Design, in general terms, is pretty consistent among the Value Resorts. All are very plain buildings that are dressed up with oversized icons that relate to the hotel name. They’re decorated, not themed. While the Moderate and Deluxe Resorts attempt to transport you to another time and place, the Value Resorts look more cartoonish. Their style is very divisive, with some Disney fans finding them garish clutter tacked onto low-rate motel buildings and other fans finding them to be fun and whimsical ways to experience a Disney hotel on the cheap.
If you are in the former camp, you probably already know Value Resorts are not for you, and there’s little point to this list of rankings for you. Regardless of how you feel about the Value Resorts, the fact is that they have plenty of fans. Many people, especially small children, prefer this larger-than-life style to the more elaborate and nuanced design of the higher-tier hotels.
We’ve stayed at each of the Value Resorts on numerous occasions, most recently in Spring 2023 with a stay at All Star Sports. In fact, we’ve stayed at every single Value Resort in the last calendar year, including 3 separate stays at All Star Sports. While their style isn’t our favorite, we can understand why they appeal to kids. We find the criticism to be a bit over the top and cynical. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.
The All Star Resorts have more in common, too. They also use shared buses to get to the parks during slower seasons (or times of day), which can be a big issue and time drain. While kids who are fans of sports, movies, or music may disagree, we feel that the decor is pretty much the same across the three resorts.
Movies and Music seem very similar to one another (most Disney movies are musicals, so this makes sense), with Sports differing more. The All Star Resorts are also older than Pop Century or Art of Animation, and in many places, the age difference really shows.
With that said, let’s take a look at the rankings!
5. All Star Movies
All of the Value Resorts have received very similar reimagined rooms, with the All Stars getting completely identical designs. Above is a photo of the new room from the opposite perspective as the new room (below that) at All Star Music. We’ve stayed in these new rooms several times, and find them to be huge upgrades. They’re not perfect–you can read about the pros & cons in our Photos & Video: Newly Reimagined Rooms at the All Star Resorts post.
These new rooms are definitely a step in the right direction, but All Star Movies could still use some more help. The Mighty Ducks are still heavily showcased, despite no longer being relevant. Photos in the lobby are faded, as is hotel signage. It also doesn’t help that All Star Movies was the first to receive the new rooms ~4 years ago, whereas Sports and Music have received their updates mostly in the last couple of years. That means the same style is fresher at Sports and Movies.
4. All Star Sports
All Star Sports has now received the new room upgrades that are huge improvements in terms of utility and aesthetics. If you’re booking a room at All Star Sports going forward, you’ll receive a new room. Of our three stays here in the last year, all of them have been in new rooms, and these have had noticeably less wear and tear than their counterparts at All Star Movies. That makes a big difference, and is pretty much the reason why Sports ranks higher than Movies.
It’s not just the rooms. As a whole, Sports looks like it has received more TLC than the other All Stars, with freshly-repainted icons and well-maintained grounds. In years past, it was common to see faded and dirty details; that’s not the case now. Beyond that, the food court was never overly-crowded and the recreation options were surprisingly good.
However, All Star Sports still ranks below Music because it’s frequently the home base for groups attending ESPN Wide World of Sports events. If you consult the ESPN Wide World of Sports Calendar and you’re completely sure there are no groups, you might decide to opt for it. We stayed at All Star Sports during a recent youth event and had a room in the “Touchdown” section right above the football field where kids often play, but had zero issues with excessive or late night noise. That has not been our experience in the past, so we generally recommend avoiding All Star Sports during these ESPN events.
The other big upside to Sports is that when the All Star Resorts are sharing buses, it’s the first stop the buses make. During busy hours, the bus will often fill up completely at All Star Sports, skipping All Star Music and Movies completely. For this reason, the bus service at All Star Sports is the best of the three. (During our recent stays, we’ve found this is most commonly an issue at the end of the night when the parks are busiest; transportation ops will pack everyone heading to the All Stars on the same bus, and have another ready to go when one is full.)
3. All Star Music
All Star Music has now been totally updated with the new rooms, pictured above. Again, these are a significant upgrade from the old rooms, as they have numerous functional and space-saving improvements. All of that is incredibly useful given the small size of Value Resort rooms.
Other upsides to All Star Music are that it’s less expensive than Pop Century and Art of Animation, it has a refurbished food court, it’s rarely (if ever) overrun with pre-teen athletic groups, the decor is good and not too dated (by All Star standards), and it’s the middle bus stop. Another point in the favor of All Star Music is that it’s the only one of the trio to offer family suites, which are far cheaper than their counterparts at Art of Animation (but not as good as those Lion King, Cars, or Finding Nemo family suites).
Finally, none of the All Star Resorts is better than the others by a wide margin. If your kids are most interested in sports, movies, or music…stay in the “topic” that appeals to them, especially if decor is a big deal. The only time we might caution against that is when a large group event is happening at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, in which case you should probably avoid All Star Sports–or at least request a room away from the football field.
2. Art of Animation
For the sake of this comparison, we’re only looking at the common areas and standard rooms in Art of Animation, all of which are in the Little Mermaid section of the hotel. The family suites are incredibly nice and worthy of consideration for families who want more space, but they arguably don’t even belong in the Value Resort category. Their nightly rate is considerably higher, making them more comparable to the Fort Wilderness Cabins and other unique room categories.
When it comes to rooms, the Little Mermaid rooms fall short of the newly-redesigned rooms at Pop Century and All Star Movies. The Little Mermaid rooms have received a light refresh recently, but nothing on par with Pop Century. You can read all of our quibbles with these in our Little Mermaid Room Review. Suffice to say, these are minimally decorated, a long walk from the lobby, and way overpriced.
However, the common areas make Art of Animation winners among families and elevate it further. This is especially true of the Cars wing, which is the best area at any of the Value Resorts. The Nemo, Lion King, and Little Mermaid grounds have fun decor and some interesting design touches, but they don’t have the depth of the Cars wing, which feels like a low-budget Radiator Springs.
Art of Animation also scores points for the Finding Nemo pool, which is the best pool at any Value Resort, and one of the better pools at Walt Disney World (if you don’t mind the noise). For a quieter option, the Cars pool is also exceptional, and has a Cozy Cone Motel vibe to it.
Landscape of Flavors, the food court at Art of Animation, is one of the better counter service restaurants on property, which is another strong selling point. However, it’s literally as easy to dine at Landscape of Flavors if you’re staying at Pop Century as it is if you’re staying in the Little Mermaid rooms.
That’s ultimately what weighs Art of Animation down to the #2 spot for us. You’re paying a significant premium for inferior rooms (unless your kids are diehard Little Mermaid fans), and for being just as far from Art of Animation’s main amenities as you would be if staying in some rooms at Pop Century. Why not just pay less, have a better room, and walk over to Art of Animation Resort to enjoy it?
1. Pop Century
In the course of discussing the other Value Resorts, we’ve more or less touched upon the biggest upsides of Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which has been the long-time top pick for Value Resorts among Walt Disney World fans. To reiterate: new rooms, Skyliner transportation, lower price points, and convenience to Art of Animation via Generation Gap Bridge all make Pop Century a winner and our #1 pick.
Pop Century’s biggest downside is that the cartoony, oversized icon style simply works better in the context of Disney animation. This style appeals primarily to kids, and Disney characters will resonate with them more than pop culture references.
Personally, I think in terms of overall ‘value’ (not simply what’s cheapest), Pop Century excels. It is worth the slight premium for superior dedicated bus service, better dining options, and far superior rooms. If you’re a couple without kids simply looking for the cheapest way to stay on-property at Walt Disney World, Pop Century should be your top pick.
So there’s our take. Whether a Value Resort is right for you in the first place is something you should also consider. If money is no object and you don’t have kids, you’re likely better off in a Moderate or Deluxe Resort. If money is an issue or you think your kids will prefer the Values, give them serious thought.
If you’re still undecided after reading this or overwhelmed by the complexity of planning a Walt Disney World vacation, you might want to consult an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Disney’s term for a travel agent). They receive commission from Disney, so most authorized planners will not charge you for booking the vacation package and planning services. The fee-free Authorized Disney Vacation Planner that we recommend is Be Our Guest Vacations. Their services don’t cost extra, they’ll help choose the right resort for you, book your vacation, help you with dining reservations and itineraries, and apply the best discounts to your reservation.

Your Thoughts
Is it worth it to you to stay at a Value Resort, or would you rather just splurge and stay at a Moderate or Deluxe Resort? Which Value Resort is your favorite? Do you agree or disagree with our WDW Value Resort rankings? Any questions we can help you answer? Hearing your feedback–even when you disagree with us–is both interesting to us and helpful to other readers, so please share your thoughts below in the comments!
I stayed for 2 nights at Pop and agree with the assessment of Pop and the comments about the grounds of Art it Animation. I’ve traveled 3 times previously to WDW and only stayed at Deluxe (Poly studios , Beach 2 BR, and split stay BLT and AKL- Kidani). Met a friend for an adults only. My only negative about Pop is the exterior entrance to the rooms, motel style. We did hit the pools and they are bland. We did walk around Art of A and I agree the pools seem much better. But for adults only Pop is great. And both Pop and Art of A have the benefit of the skyliner. I was skeptical and I even commented such on Tom’s posting about the skyliner incident. But I was impressed. So having that clearly gives Pop and Art of A an advantage. If you truly need more than a studio sized room but can’t afford the suites at deluxes or Coronado , Art is definitely an option as the kids will love the theming. But without kids, I’d go Pop. Their food courts are almost identical in their offerings. But who needs that? Just take the skyliner to the world showcase entrance and get your food that way !
Thanks to your rankings, I decided to use my Unique Offer Code on a stay at Pop Century rather than one of the all star hotels. Just booked my stay for mid May, right before Memorial Day. I personally will enjoy the nostalgia of the hotel, but not sure my 5 year old will like it as much as she probably would have enjoyed All Star Movies or Music.
Thanks as always for pointing out the best options!
We have always stayed at Pop with our older teenage daughters, mainly for the cost, but the rooms are small. I think it’s a better place for 2 people but gets tight with 4, especially with a lot of luggage for a week.
The pool is “boring” according to my kids, but again, we are hardly at the resort.
Trying Port Orleans next August.
I vote Pop as #1 also but must confess I’ve never stayed at any other resort during my 4 trips! Seriously though, I love the over-sized cartoon icons at Pop and feel that they deliver the true flavor of a Disney fun-resort experience. I’ve visited moderate and deluxe resorts during my stays and, although they’re very nice, they lack the Disney WOW factor for me ( a solo traveler with no children!). Plus, the cast members at Pop are so wonderful and do everything they can to make the stay memorably excellent.
I LOVE the oversized animated icons too!! That’s what Disney is really all about! â¤ï¸
I agree, and I have stayed at all the All Star resorts and a couple moderate. Pop has been my favorite without competition.
Geri..I totally agree 100%. Husband and I dn’t travel with kids..and have only stayed at PoP! New rooms, its own bus, proximity to AoA, hourglass lake and bridge…wont stay anywhere else!
We recently stayed at the All Star Music Hotel. It was my favorite resort until my visit this month. I believe the person that came to my room was the building manager, but he did not introduce himself. This man came to my room thirty minutes prior to check out and wanted to know why we had not left yet. I am not exaggerating. We had to put down the bags we were loading up to answer the second room’s door ( we still checked out early). He knocked for a few minutes till we stopped what we were doing and answered the other door. I have never been asked by any hotel why I had not left yet. Plus, we had two rooms with eight people. They kept leaving us six towels and four washcloths for eight people. I asked them to give us eight for the number of people. Guest services told me they could ask, but it was too much paperwork to guarantee the towels. She told us to call every morning, and wait for them to come to the room. It took time to wait on towels at this hotel. We had this problem at another Disney hotel, and it sometimes takes a while to get the towels. If we rented the rooms for eight people, I should not have to ask every morning for eight towels and washcloths. Disney is raising prices, and this trip lost the magic. We love Disney so I hate to even write this. We are even annual passholders. I just wish Disney would realize that customer service should be number one.
Just recently stayed at AOA in Sept and walked across to Pop, I felt it was less visually appealing than AOA but I know it is so popular! I am concerned that they may cut back on bus frequency times though. I’m assuming that would only affect HS and Epcot buses?
We have been staying in these hotels since becoming AP holders in 2013. Not a fan of their recent rate hike for the All star resorts…..170 is a BIT high when we were spending 99. and of course the parking fee at the hotel Yuck. I guess we will go for a day at a time and drive home usually having to miss the fireworks…
I love Pop Century. Will be there in February 2020.
Hi Tom! I am fed up with the constant criticism of the All-Star Resorts! We’ve stayed numerous times at all three of them and we’ve always found them very clean and very nice; by far superior to the Motel 6 chain ( I doubt that you’ve ever stayed in one of these)… Of course, if you compare them to the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian they will not be up to par. The problem is that not all families can afford the prices that these Resorts charge per night. You could also say that the Disney Deluxe Resorts are dumps compared to the Four Seasons Resort! By the way, because of the prices that they charge, I don’t consider the Pop Century Resort and the Art of Animation Resort to be Value Resorts.
Thanks for the great work!
Actually, we stay in Motel 6 quite frequently. They have a great pet policy and we’ve had to drive cross-country with our dog and cat several times in the last 3 years.
In fact, Motel 6 recently finished a chain-wide room redesign called “Project Phoenix” that has a lot in common with what Walt Disney World is doing at the Value Resorts right now. The new-look Motel 6 rooms are sleek, light, and modern. Have you stayed there recently?
My family just got back from staying in Sports in Sept 2019. Wow. What a dump. Had to change rooms 3 times. 1st was just horrible…dirty old and nasty. 2nd had been smoked in. 3rd was better, but not worth the $99/night. In serious need of return. I prefer the values because I’m not there for the room and we are usually there for 9 days so cost is a factor. Pop has been good and Movies was reasonable. Wont consider Sports again until return is done. Im not the picky one in the family but even I was disgusted
Arriving at Pop Century tomorrow and can’t wait to see our refurbed rooms. I hope they’re as nice and roomy looking as the photos (taken with wide angle lens) show them to be.
Was looking forward to riding the Skyliner, but have nixed that idea. Having to take precautionary measures by having a full bottle of water and visiting the restroom prior to boarding adds one more have-to for the list and does not speak well for the Skyliner. When embarking on an African safari, yes; for a sky ride, I don’t think so.
Having said that, I hope people pay attention to your advice. It could make the difference between waiting out a delay in some semblance of comfort, or being edgy and anxious.
Every year I take a group of scouts and leaders to Disney for six nights/seven days. This year I was there with 71 people. All Star Music/Movies makes it very affordable for the girl scout troops, and the girls have no complaints about the resort or its decor. They are just happy they could afford the trip. PC is about $40.00/night more and AoA is about $70.00 per night more. I am happy Disney has these value resorts so that groups, such as scouts, can afford it.
tom (or anyone), do you have the room numbers of the updated/refurbished lion king suite rooms? i just saw a post on another site of the removal of the carpet and we’d like to score one of those room if possible but room number(s) would be helpful. the post didn’t say how many rooms were currently refurbished.
I would LOVE to know about this too!
We recently had a split stay between Pop Century and All Star Music. We liked the refurbished room at Pop a lot but All Star Music was our over all favorite. The pools were nice, the resort was pretty lit up at night, and the landscaping was mature and far prettier than Pop. We were in the 80s section of Pop and the pool area felt cold. There was little to no landscaping, and the simple square pool with the 3 story buildings surrounding it along with the plain cement deck, felt like an urban compound. There was no appeal at all to that area. I’ll take All Star Music any day and opt for a cab if the bus is crowded. I also agree about the Mighty Ducks, time to replace the Mighty Duck decor with a different movie, maybe the Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland, or Peter Pan.
Any advice on best family suites at ASMusic? Wish the other value resorts had these options for larger groups!! We were going to stay in an AOA room but moved due to lack of discounts (both there & in 5 person moderate rms!). Sigh.
Of the value resorts, we’ve stayed at both Movies and Pop Century, both prior to the room makeovers. We’ve visited the other values and Art of Animation. I understand that you’re trying to compare apples to apples by using the Little Mermaid Rooms at Art of Animation as your comparison point, and then point out the superior facilities at AoA.
But I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. AoA is NOT a value resort. It has theming to rival any moderate, or even any deluxe resort: No other resort at WDW can beat it for theming directed at this particular core audience: Children. All-Star Movies isn’t bad regarding theming, but you’re right, it’s hit or miss, as most kids won’t be familiar with either The Love Bug or The Mighty Ducks. The Toy Story section, with Green Army Men on the roof, seemingly headed towards the massive containers that serve as the stairwells, is an outstanding bit of theming towards kids, but it falls short of what Disney did with AoA. Heck, even the interiors of the Little Mermaid rooms are right up there with the Royal Rooms at POR and the Pirate Rooms at CBR (none of which even touch the shower/bath experience of being in Ariel’s secret grotto; I do give Royal Rooms the advantage due to the fireworks). The overwhelming percentage of the resort is dedicated family suites, 7 out of 10 buildings, and the prices there are more than any moderate resort and are more than the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness, the Deluxe Studios at either Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs, and are right up with many deluxe resorts on pricing. As I write this, with the Incredible Room offer, for our upcoming stay at WDW, it would only cost $1.00 more to stay at a standard room at the Beach Club, $6.00 more for a nature view at Wilderness Lodge. Of course we’re talking suites which are designed to sleep 6 at AoA, making the pricing more palatable than shelling out for 2 rooms at a value or moderate.
The Little Mermaid rooms are in 30% of the buildings, and those rooms are value sized. However, they are themed as well (better than the pirate rooms, IMHO) than the special rooms at the moderates, in a kid friendly theming that none of the deluxe resorts can touch. I don’t care that Disney calls it a value resort; it belongs in it’s own subsection with the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness.
I think the undisputed king of the values is Pop Century, especially with the new room makeovers. I’d place Sports at the bottom, due to the substantial chance of running into a sport competition taking place. Music is quite nice, without some of the weaknesses possessed by Movies, but Movies can be on top of the All-Stars in the right circumstances: If you get rooms that appeal to your kid(s). So if you have a kid or two who are nuts about Toy Story, they’re not going to care that the food court might not be as nice as Music. And for a substantial number of parents, that’ll be worth the minor advantages other All-Stars might have over Movies.
ITA with everything you say about the Little Mermaid rooms, their theming, and especially the bathroom!
They’ve also started to be included in some discounts/dining offers, AND sometimes be priced so that two of them, with four beds, cost less than a Family Suite and their three beds. That’s why my family of six is staying in two LM rooms on our next trip instead of a suite. My 6’1″ teen gets his own bed, thanks to that fourth bed!
My wife and I have stayed at Pop every year for the past 6 trips and it is perfect for older adults that spend their days enjoying the parks. When we had children we stayed at Moderate and Deluxe. Now we prefer to spend $ on special dinners and events
Hi, we are booked into all star music for sep 2018. We have free breakfast dining plan included…can you tell me if we can use this breakfast credit for lunch instead?
You can. It’s sold as free breakfast but it is a quick service voucher per person per night so can be used for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I live in the UK and have been to Disney World twice. Both of these trips I stayed for 14 nights and I have to disagree with your blog. I stayed in both the all star movies and all star sports and honestly I thought the all star hotels were very good for there price. Both of our trips the hotel was clean and I feel it still had the magical Disney feel with good themes. Although the rooms were basic I actually feel all star movies was way better than the all star sports. Firstly the beds were some of the comfiest beds I have ever slept on (in fact when I went to DLP I stayed in a deluxe hotel and it was 100% comfier than that.) I felt the pool was amazing and I don’t know why people look down on these hotels so much. For the bus, we never had a problem and never had to wait more than 15 minutes. When you book a value resort I wouldn’t worry I loved every minute and will be returning in 2019.
I love all of Disney hotels, and I am just thankful for being there. However, the sports hotel was definitely my least favorite by far. Things kept breaking in the room, and it was disappointing since I love sports. However, it was still a great stay
My mom and I chose Pop Century to go to the Halloween party two years ago, then we were picked up in the lobby for our Disney cruise the next day.
Rooms are teeny, teeny- but it seemed well decorated (not garish), beds were very comfy and it was the perfect size, price and convenience for that.
They were nicer than I expected, having stayed in Disney moderates before that. Our linens looked new, everything fresh, pool was big (we didn’t use it), and we got Mickey soap. Also, no trouble getting buses in a timely manner. Only complaint was the serious hike to get to the main office building when we boarded a bus, and leaving the MK it seemed moderates and nicer properties got more buses 2:1 ratio. But still, not a bad wait.
Some said the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA are a bit too far away from reception and bus stop. They had to walk over 10 minutes to get to their room? Is this true? Thanks.
It felt like we had to walk half a mile to get to our room in the Little Mermaid section of AoA from the bus stop. Horrible after a long, tiring day in the parks. I much prefer staying at a moderate where the bus stop is just a short walk away.
The walk back to the mermaid rooms was 10 minutes! I timed it. We were in the farthest room on the backside, top floor. UGH! I would only stay in the Little Mermaid room if I were driving my car, which is what we did after our 1st night.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We have done all the other values and once did a single night in the Cars section of AoA with extended family, but were driving that time and otherwise always use busing so this is a big point towards the All Stars in our opinion as we are only a couple!
I believe when we stayed at AoA Little Mermaid rooms, we just drove from our building and parked in a lot closer to the bus stop. It may have been a 10 minute walk, but with a 4 year old in Florida heat and humidity, the drive won out (this was when WDW didn’t charge for parking, and we drive down from NJ). The resort looked beautiful lit up at night.
A plus not mentioned is that the Little Mermaid rooms were very close to the main pool.
I stayed at Pop Century about 10 years ago and the room was fine, but keep in mind that each room has only either two twin beds or one king bed which can only comfortably fit 2 people ( and perhaps a crib).
You mean 2 full size beds, not twin beds. We stayed at Pop Century in December 2016 with 2 kids and felt very comfortable.
