Buy 2 of Our Favorite Disney Parks Books, Get 1 Free!
Prime Day is right around the corner, and already Amazon is offering discounts on a variety of everyday essentials, electronics, home goods and Father’s Day gifts–most of which are totally unrelated to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or other trips. However, one very relevant early deal that we’ve spotted is on Disney Parks books, with many over 50% off or B2G1 free.
Prime Day is basically Amazon’s Christmas in July late June sale. It makes sense for the retail behemoth to create its own money-saving holiday, as Amazon is already the single-biggest source of deals in November and December. The last few years we’ve spent about the same amount during Amazon Prime Days as we have on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Amazon’s Prime Day is once again a multi-day sale this year, running from June 23-26, 2026. Prior to the official kickoff, there are a number of Amazon Prime Day Early Access Deals. Again, many of those are on electronics (especially Amazon-owned brands) or random items like toothbrushes, vacuums, and $5 large pizza from Little Caesars (my personal pick).
While browsing Amazon this morning for more books to add to our already way-too-large collection, I discovered there’s an Early Amazon Prime Day ‘Get 3 for the Price of 2’ limited-deal. Whenever there’s one of these promos (which is usually 3-4 times per year), we buy 3 books. Or rather, buy 2 and get 1 free.
If you’ve never taken advantage of one of these free item offers from Amazon, you simply browse the ‘Get 3 for the Price of 2’ page (or look for the green notation on product pages) and do the following:
- Add 3 items from the products below to your Cart using the Add to Cart button or select See Options for specific product variations.
- When you’re done shopping, select Go to Cart.
- The offer will automatically be applied at checkout, if eligible
When it comes to these items, we receive a small commission from your purchases, so buying through these links helps support the site. However, neither the price you pay nor our recommendations are impacted by that. These are all books that we actually own. And at least two of the three of us loves each one of them.
Best ‘Buy 3 for the Price of 2’ Disney Book Deals
A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of The Most Magical Place on Earth – Our favorite Walt Disney World coffee table book ever. In style, structure, and quality, this is unrivaled. Truly the best thing to come out of the 50th Anniversary celebration, this covers everything from development to the evolution of Walt Disney World, with tons of rare photos and concept art.
You can read our full review if you want, but the bottom line is that this is the best book ever about Walt Disney World. If you somehow don’t already own it, 42% off and being part of the ‘buy 3 for the price of 2’ promo makes this a no-brainer. Given that we’re 5 years post-50th, you can expect this book to go out of print (OOP) soon. Once that happens, prices on new/mint copies of collectible books like this typically increase.
Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour Through His Life and Legacy (NEW) – When it comes to the “what would Walt want?” debate, we often joke that there are only two things of which we can be certain: canned chili on restaurant menus and more trains. Walt loved trains, and this book purports to explore how railroading influenced Walt’s films, theme parks, and personal life, as well as how Walt, in turn, influenced the perception of railroading in America.
Xavier “X” Atencio: The Legacy of An Artist, Imagineer, and Disney Legend (NEW) – This book depicts the life, art, and lasting legacy of X. Featuring previously unpublished artwork and photographs from X’s personal collection, this book grants readers the unique opportunity to discover the true depths of influence X attained on his life journey. It covers X’s curious career path, from “small-town Colorado boy” to art school attendee, Disney animator, attraction scriptwriter, lyricist, voice-over artist, and Disney Legend.
The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic – If you’ve followed this blog around Christmas-time, you know we are huge fans of Muppet Christmas Carol. I’ve seen it more than any other film (the next closest is Terminator 2, for those keeping score at home).
We’d love this by default simply because it’s Muppet Christmas Carol. But it’s actually a beautiful book, and one of our favorites to read to her. She’s expressing more of an interest in it this year, aided by truly exceptional (not really) voiceover narration for each character by me. We’re debating purchasing a spare for her, because it’s such an affordable, artistic book.
Women of Walt Disney Imagineering: 12 Women Reflect on Their Trailblazing Theme Park Careers – Capturing an era–and preserving the stories they have told their daughters, their mentees, their husbands, and their friends–a dozen women Imagineers have written personal stories from their decades designing and building the Disney world-wide empire of theme parks.
Bring the Magic Home: An Exploration of Design Inspired by Disney Parks (NEW) – A mix of Disney history, interior design, garden design, and DIY project studies, this visually detailed coffee table book charts how to infuse your personal spaces with the wonder and whimsy found at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. This is another newer book, and is 40% off on top of the buy 3 for the price of 2 deal.
Figment Little Golden Book – This adorable Little Golden Book is about creativity and imagination, and is perfect for children ages 2 to 5, plus Disney Parks fans and Little Golden Book collectors of all ages. We own two copies and highly recommend it.
Frozen Ever After Little Golden Book (NEW) – Sail through a winter wonderland with Olaf and Sven, visit Elsa’s ice palace, and watch fireworks over Arendelle Castle! This Little Golden Book captures every exciting moment from the Disney Parks attraction Frozen Ever After.
Mickey’s Walt Disney World Adventure 50th Anniversary Little Golden Book – Another great option to round out your Little Golden Book trio, should you need a third comparably-priced title.
There are a ton of other Little Golden Books that are part of the ‘buy 3 for the price of 2’ promo. If you can’t find anything else, these are a good fallback option. But obviously, you’ll save more money aiming for books in the $20+ range.
Disney Who’s Who: A to Z of Characters (Autograph Book Substitute) – This is a fun book on its own, but the reason we highly recommend it is because you can use it as an autograph book for characters at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. After the trip, it’ll be a treasured keepsake for your kids. (We own this but have not yet used it for autograph purposes.)
Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World – This is a cookbook, with recipes for iconic dishes like the Grey Stuff, Tonga Toast, Kungaloosh, Ronto Wrap, Hollywood Brown Derby Grapefruit Cake, and Le Cellier Steakhouse Cheese Soup. However, it’s also so much more. You’ll also find rare restaurant concept art, history (my favorite is “Walt Loved Fried Chicken”), and old menu scans.
Other Great Deals on Disney Parks Books
The Happiest Place on Earth: The Incredible Story of Walt Disney’s Disneyland – This is one of the highlights of the 70th Anniversary, and another excellent book about Walt Disney’s original magic kingdom. It brings a shocking amount of new content and fresh perspective to the table, and is a gorgeous and gigantic coffee table book that’s worthy of display.
Even seasoned fans will appreciate how much new ground it covers about the creation and early years of Disneyland. It’s truly a testament to the authors that they’ve been able to revisit the Walt-era well yet again, and still manage to publish one of the fresher Disneyland books in years. This is a must-own for lovers of Disney history.
This highly-recommended title is 50% off as part of the Early Access Prime Day Deals. On top of that, it has this offer: “Save $24.78 on 3 select items.” Honestly, I have no clue how that works and can’t find a list of the other eligible products. Good luck with that–this book is a great deal even at “only” half-off!
Walt Disney’s Disneyland – The best theme park book to be released in years (read our full review of it here), this is another must-have for Disneyland fans. Even if you’re a more of a Florida person, there’s a good amount on Walt Disney here, making it a worthwhile option for WDW fans, too.
Not only is this 57% off, but there’s also a clippable coupon dropping the price to $22. That makes it a scorching sale. Be warned that there’s another version of this title that’s even cheaper–don’t buy that, because it’s also smaller.
Marc Davis in His Own Words: Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks – This tremendous tome is now 57% off, which is a great price on a book that’s OOP and will someday cost hundreds of dollars. It’s one of my all-time favorite Disney books, and although it’s a bit more niche, it’s a must-own for diehard Disney fans.
This two volume behemoth by Pixar director Pete Docter and Imagineer Christopher Merritt is a passion project about one of the true Walt-era Imagineering heavyweights. Disney Legend Marc Davis is the creative mind behind countless clever gags in iconic attractions, including Country Bear Jamboree!
The Official Disney Parks Desserts Cookbook: Remembering 101 Sweet Delicious Disney Recipes – The past ‘Delicious Disney’ titles have pleasantly surprised, offering a nice mix of history and recipes with unique content (food!) that is incredibly significant to our sentimentality for the parks. This one also offers extra savings if you purchase multiple items; again, good luck with that.
If you want a broad selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Day Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!
If you’re looking for other book recommendations for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or beyond, check out Our Disney Theme Parks Library post. Many of the newer releases from the last few years will almost certainly be on sale during Amazon’s Prime Day. Several other books are now out-of-print, but are available used for pennies on the dollar. Others are OOP and cost a small fortune. Like any collectibles, prices are really all over the place for old Disney books!
