Have a question about planning a trip to Disney or something you’ve read here? We’re here to help! We’ve visited every Disney resort around the world, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disney Resort, and have stayed in nearly every Disney-owned hotel.
Many frequently asked questions we receive can be answered by reading the posts on this site. If you are curious about a certain topic, use the search feature at the top of the page. Some of our most helpful pages include the following…
If you’re trying to plan a Walt Disney World trip, visit our Walt Disney World Trip Planning Guide. If planning a Disneyland trip, check out our Disneyland Trip Planning Guide. If you have questions about photography or want camera recommendations, read our Photography Guide. If you want to use one of the Tom’s photos from this site on your own blog, website, etc., check out our Photo Usage page. If you have questions about Sarah’s attire, take a look at our What to Wear to Disney and Unique Disney Packing List posts.
If you can’t find a post that answers your question, please leave a comment on a relevant post, and we will do our best to reply to your question. We see all new comments, even on old posts. This is the easiest and most effective way of asking us a question. Unfortunately, we do not have time to respond to questions via email–you’re much more likely to get a response to a comment on a post.
Please note that we just two passionate Disney fans writing a blog about our experiences with advice based on those experiences in our free time. In other words, don’t expect instantaneous responses or post an ALL CAPS comment when we don’t respond to you within a day. If you don’t hear from us within a week or two, consider re-posting the comment, as we might have missed it.
We are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company nor is this an official Disney blog, so if you have questions or complaints about a booking with Disney or anything of that sort, you’ll want to contact Disney Guest Services for that.
Thanks,
Sarah & Tom Bricker
This blog is amazing. We are a couple from the UK (no kids) who have booked our first trip to Orlando next April (19th) doing 3 night universal then 7 nights animal kingdom hotel however I am getting so confused as to planning. Where do we start! The magic hours do we know them in advance? I know restaurant bookings opens up for us soon so need to get organised!
Park hours and Extra Magic Hours are published in advance, but often–frustratingly–not until the window for ADRs begins.
Hi there,
Our family will be attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party next September. Am I allowed, as an adult, to wear a Snow White costume (obviously as long as I’m not signing autographs)?
Thanks for your very informative blog!

Hi guys
just wanted to check if you happen to know anything about the rare, commercially not available Shanghai Disneyland book that was given to the VIP guests at the Grand Opening. Unlikely to pop up on eBay I guess?
Thanks,
Daniel
This is the first I’ve even heard of it!
I love your blog. We are regular WDW visitors as we go at least once a year (love DCL too) and really appreciate the information that you provide. Especially your Christmas tips. We are headed there for our second Christmas-New Year week this year. The information you provide is very helpful with our planning. Thanks!
Can I hire you to do a personalized Disney World plan for our family?
Tom, do you guys (or anyone else reading) happen to know if annual pass rates ever change during the year or will specifically decrease this year? I’ve wondered if they ever get discounted. We’ve had them before when we were traveling to WDW a lot, but having an infant put a temporary stop to that. We’re thinking we need to start having a Magical Day again.
Incidentally, my wife and I love this blog. We think we missed our calling in life. She chose business, and I chose mental health. Oh well.
There *was* a promotion for Annual Passes that offered a bonus month, but that ended on January 3, 2017. I have literally never seen Disney lower the price on any kind of park tickets, but they will offer promos like that on rare occasion that are effectively discounts.
If anything, Annual Pass prices are due for an increase with the coming ticket price increase that’s likely to occur in February. AP price increases did not increase last fall (as they historically have), which is probably because the last AP price increase was ‘too large’ (in the sense that it caused many people not to renew). However, it’s unheard of for Disney to go this long without an AP price increase.
Thanks, Tom.
Hello, I thought I remember reading that we could contact you about camera questions. I bought a camera for our November 2016 trip but it did not work right out of the box and I had to return it. I had ordered it online so could not have a replacement in time for our trip. I forget which brand but it was the one you most recently recommended for the video being slightly better than the Sony 100. What I did not like about the camera was the size, it was too small. I feel like it was too small for my hands and I was fearful that I would have a lot of blur in my pictures. I am looking for a beginner camera, but also one that I can learn and grow with. I am very interested in taking classes also. I would mainly be taking pictures of my family, my dogs, Disney , and other vacations. I also bought the books you suggested . I was wondering if you thought that one of the Nikon cameras you wrote about would be a good starting point for me? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Debbie Marsters
I am a bit older than you two. I’ve been trying to google my question, even joined the forum but can’t figure out how to post the question there. So here it is….
Is there or Was there a Disney Hotel that you could enter via the park and it looked like royalty inside? I’m not sure if my memory is of the Disneyland Hotel in 1986 or a hotel connection to the Tokyo Disney Park in 1994. I can just remember, it seemed to be off of the castle area. The lobby was mahogany wood and velvet chairs and settees. Any chance you can help provide answers to these questions?
Hello Tom,
I am a fan of your work. I am thinking of entering more into the travel writing field after several years in the international education field. I was wondering if you could give on any advice on someone looking to building their craft and image? If possible I would prefer the response via email. Thank you for your time.
I’m really sorry to hear this. Someone told me about this problem 2 weeks ago, and I did a bunch of updates and had it taken care of–at least temporarily, I guess? I don’t know what else to do, but will talk to a friend who is knowledgeable about the tech side of things to see what other security measures need to be added to protect the site.
In any case, I hope you have a great trip; sorry to have you leave. 🙁
Hi Tom,
I loved the blog! We are planning a honeymoon trip to Tokyo Disney Resort. We purposely planned it to be early December knowing it won’t be as crowded. We are also planning to stay in MiraCosta for 1 night. Do you think it is possible to try check-in at the Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center and rush to the MiraCosta right before the park opens?
My plan is to do the DisneySea first by using the on-the-check-in-day 15-minutes early entry, then go to Disneyland on the second day.
We have also booked to have dinner at OCEANO at the MiraCosta in order to see the Fantasmic. Will it be visible there?
TLDR for Tokyo Disney Resort:
1. Is it possible to try check-in on the day at the Welcome Center for Hotel Miracosta and rush to get the 15 mins early from Hotel Entrance?
2. Does OCEANO restaurant in MiraCosta offer a good view of Fantasmic? (This will be our “formal”-ish honeymoon dinner.
Thank you so much for the blog 🙂 It helps a lot on planning the seemingly daunting challenge of squeezing Tokyo Disney Sea and Land on 2 days.
Hi Tom & Sarah,
Love the site, and have been following for years. I have a camera question. My wife owns her own dance studio and takes all the pictures for the studio and its website. She also has a “picture week” at the end of the year and takes all the class pictures and individual student pictures for the parents to purchase. The studio is 4 years old and she has gotten quite good. She borrows her father’s Cannon DSLR camera. For Christmas I would like to get her, her own DSLR camera and would love to get her one of the Nikon cameras that you have reviewed here on the site. She takes a lot of stills, but is looking to take more “action” shots of the girls in motion. I’d like to give you her website address, so you could take a look at some of her work but I don’t want to leave it here. If I could send it to you via email please let me know. After all of that, sorry, my question is; do you think the D7200 is my best choice as she continues to grow or is the D3200 more than enough for what she needs. I appreciate any response you have, and thank you for all the effort you guys put into this site as it continues to grow. Anyone who asks about Disney, this is the first site I tell them to go to. All the best.
Hi there,
We are visiting Orlando this Christmas time, we have visited a few times before but always in the summer.
We stay off site in a villa but would really like to look at some of the Disney hotels, could you point me in the direction of any info you have about visiting hotels as a non-resident please.
Thanks so much
HUGE fan here! Spend hours every day on your site 🙂 Was just reading your Be Our Guest Restaurant Lunch Review and thought I’d let you know that there’s quite a few spammy /bot comments in the comment section that you may want to delete…
ps – is it true that now there’s only the ADR for BOG for lunch?
Hi, I’ve been relying on your site as a home base for planning my Disney trips the past 5 years, thank you for the thoroughness! However, in the new (to me) layout since my last trip, I cannot find a way to search the posts for a keyword. Specifically, I’m looking for a post on the DVC. Thanks!
If you go to the right sidebar (on desktop, not mobile), you will see a “Search” field halfway down the page. That’s one option. Below that, there are also tags you can click, one of which is Disney Vacation Club. Hope that helps! 🙂
Hi: I’m planning a trip to Florida in early December and although I’ve done Disney on both coasts, this year I’m going alone as a senior age 74. No kids, no grandkids. Over the years I’ve done the spring flower show and other special events and this year is the Christmas season. My question is: Are there special things I should know as a senior? Have you written anything for my target group? I like Epcot and plan to include it. I’m certainly amblitory but would like to mix the walking with sitting events.
I just got my first email from you and I’m trying to digest it all. Thanks for all your hard work. MB
Hi Mary Beth,
Unfortunately, I have not written anything specifically for seniors, but much of what we enjoy is the “little things” and quiet moments in the parks, and I’m assuming that’s what you’re after. You will find information on this in our WDW Itineraries: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/disney-park-itineraries/
Additionally, during Christmas at Epcot, there’s the “Holidays Around the World,” which features excellent treats in each country! https://www.disneytouristblog.com/epcot-holidays-around-world-tips/
Do the beverages at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival come in a normal serving size or are they sample sizes, like the food?
Hi! My husband and I are heading over to Disney World for my 30th birthday and we only have one day, so we are taking on the challenge of visiting all the parks (we might regret this decision later…)! We want to find a restaurant that has really good food AND a fantastic ambiance, does such a thing exist? We love all kinds of food and are mild foodies so we are up for anything! Help!! Thank you!!!!
Hi Tom and Sarah,
today it is time to say a big THANK YOU! Your blog helped me set up the most wonderful vacation for the graduation of my boyfriend and my birthday. (although we are facing a serious Disney blues ever since and can’t get that song from the Riverside Foodcourt out of our head – it has been 3 weeks now). Thank you for all your posts that gave me detailed knowledge to make the most out of our time and money (and when you have to fly over from Europe – every bug and pound in your suitcase counts) Thank you also for keeping up your amazing work so that we can fight that blues with every new entry of yours (by the way I love the Halloween costume from Sarah – we could easily face octoberfest next week with it)
Greetings from Austria
Marie-Luise
I’m using this article as a current event for my 7th grade social studies class and I was wondering if you can tell me what day you posted it? Based on the comments and few points in the article, I think it was August 30th. Thank you so much! It’s due tonight…of course…
