Disney World Sets Soft Opening for Six Ravens!
The brand-new Six Ravens restaurant by Gideon’s Bakehouse is soft opening this week at Walt Disney World! Here are details for location, including the full menu of food & drinks, operating hours & virtual queue details. Plus, why this is our most-anticipated WDW dining spot in years, and is sure to be a huge hit with fans.
Previously announced as debuting in Disney Springs at the Landing in Summer 2026, Six Ravens is the new restaurant concept by Gideon’s Bakehouse, the fan‑favorite local bakery. Six Ravens is taking over the former Art of Shaving storefront, and is steps away from the beloved bakery.
Six Ravens specializes in grab-and-go hand pies. Their signature creation, known as Coffyns, is a house‑made yeast‑roll stuffed with savory fillings that draw inspiration from Medieval European pastry cases. The original “coffyns” were designed to preserve hearty meals for long pilgrimages, and at Disney Springs, they’re sure to be a delicious on-the-go snack.
It’s been a roller coaster couple of weeks for Six Ravens. Back on July 20, Walt Disney World updated its official website indicating that Six Ravens would officially open starting that Monday, with hours from 10 am until 11 pm. That was wrong. Shortly thereafter, Six Ravens took to Instagram to refute the ‘strange reports’ that the location would open, apologizing for the false hope.
Fast forward two weeks later, and we now have confirmation that Six Ravens will soft open on this Monday, August 3, 2026. Really for real, this time! At least, that’s the word straight from the beak of the chief Raven, founder Steve Lewis in a new interview.
August 3, 2026 Update
Ahead of today’s debut, Six Ravens took to social media to clarify some of the policies of the exceptionally soft opening. Here’s what they shared, to help set guest expectations:
Let’s train for the great quest to Seek the Six! Today we will attempt an exceptionally soft opening. Six Ravens is a relentless beast that needs to be understood, and we are now looking for noble adventurers to help us prepare.
Getting this menu to you is challenging, given the scratch-made uniqueness of what we do and the constrained space in which it dwells, but our crew is mighty, and we’re ready to win the day. Will it be bumpy? Most likely. Will there be waits? No doubt. But we hope you enjoy our work and help us to figure out exactly what Six Ravens wants to be. It takes a village. Let’s talk expectations:
– We will engage in our Virtual Queue when the line grows excessively long, meaning we will take your number and text you when it is your time. This will allow you to enjoy the beauty of Disney Springs while you wait.
– Each Six Ravens Coffyn and Smashed Potatoes comes with a dipping sauce. You can mix and match, but trust our pairings during your early visits. We are our harshest critics, and have time-tested the best outcomes.
– Limit of 2 Coffyns per paying guest. This menu is built to be enjoyed right away. We are a small grab-and-go with no seating. Find a nice place out in the shade and enjoy the experience. Inside each Merry Meal box, you will find a knife, a tiny spoon, and collectible sticker. PROTIP: Cut your Coffyn in half and use the spoon to put the perfect amount of sauce on your bite!
– We’re shadow creatures. Prepare for your eyes to adjust. It’s dark and cozy inside, giving you a retreat from the lava storm called Florida summer.
– In Six Ravens, you are surrounded by the finale of the story. Behind you is the moment the King and his crew complete their six trials and gain audience with The Six. They are depicted in carved ancient stone. In front of you is the found mural of The Six Ravens, which some say still holds otherworldly capacities.
We don’t do media events or influencers. All are welcome and equal. Please give us some grace. The team will be learning. The grand opening will be announced when we feel unstoppable, offering a gorgeous free gift for attendees (More later). Ok. Let’s do this.
That’s pretty much everything you need to know before you go, but we’d emphasize the “excessively long line” part of that. If you don’t have a few hours to devote to Six Ravens, you might want to try later this week or next (but not the weekend). Our hope and expectation is that things will quiet down a bit once the locals and influencers get their fill.
What follows is the rest of the original news and our commentary about the soft opening of Six Ravens…
Thus far, the soft opening is not being publicized by Walt Disney World. The operating hours have not returned to the official website. We expect this soft opening to remain relatively hush-hush, at least, officially.
It won’t matter. Sites like ours are publicizing the soft open, and a full day in advance. Word will spread on social media like wildfire. Gideon’s Bakehouse has a large, loyal, passionate, and (most importantly) plugged-in fan-following.
There are enough Central Florida locals coupled with tourists who just so happen to be at Walt Disney World this coming week to descend upon Six Ravens, like a rave of ravens (a group of ravens is also, apparently, called a conspiracy–a term I like even more) on a deer carcass.
Suffice to say, sky-high demand for Six Ravens is highly likely. This restaurant is even smaller than Gideon’s Bakehouse, which will complicate crowd flow logistics. Plans are in place for a virtual queue, as is used sometimes at Gideon’s Bakehouse, to manage crowds and minimize the time guests spend waiting in a physical line. As guests show up, staffers will be on hand to place them in the queue on a first-come, first-served basis.
Due to the nature of a soft opening and this being the debut of a new highly-hyped restaurant concept, don’t be surprised if operating hours are inconsistent or items sell out. (The latter might even cause the former if demand is really off the charts.) Our advice would be going as early in the morning as possible during the soft opening period, which could last a few days to a few weeks.
This feels like history repeating itself. Back when Gideon’s Bakehouse soft opened, there was also a quiet announcement one day in advance, which spread like wildfire on social media…
The biggest difference then versus now is that the soft opening was Festivus 2020 (December 23rd). Meaning it was both the lead-up to Christmas and in the midst of COVID when people weren’t traveling as much.
We lived locally at the time, and headed out to Disney Springs bright and early to rope drop Gideon’s Bakehouse. Our Feat of Strength that day was waiting in the virtual queue, which ended up being modest as contrasted with the multi-hour waits Gideon’s would draw when it officially opened in early 2021.
It’s difficult to gauge how the Six Ravens soft opening will compare to that. Honestly, August 3, 2026 may not be that much slower than December 2020. One big difference is that locals already had access to Gideon’s cookies back then, whereas Six Ravens is an entirely new concept.
On balance, we expect Six Ravens to be busier the first week of August 2026 than Gideon’s Bakehouse was in December 2020. Our expectation is that lines will be long and the wait will be measurable, but still not as bad as in October through December. We’ll be heading out for the soft opening this week, and will report back with a full review soon!
“To guide guests on their journey…you’ll get to explore the many offerings of Disney Springs while you wait,” Lewis told the Orlando Sentinel about the virtual queue, who asks for guest grace as they navigate curiosity-driven demand for Six Ravens. “Seek the Six! We’ll be waiting, and doing our best for you.”
Lewis also shared a few more interesting morsels in the interview. For one, that the Tart’s Tempest is the lone dessert at launch, with the Six Ravens team wanting to ease into the process. But more will come, including via collaborations with local bakeries. And although it was a given due to the success of merchandise sales, but Lewis also confirmed Six Ravens will sell limited-edition collectibles.
Most interesting to me is the development process that brought Six Ravens to fruition. “Gideon’s is filled with characters and lore. Some of those little creatures could be set free into the world to become their own thing,” explained Lewis. He and his team created five (!!!) sister concepts to present to Walt Disney World.
Six Ravens best filled the grab-and-go need that Walt Disney World had, and the project began to move forward. Personally, this really makes me wonder what the other four concepts were that were left on the cutting room floor! Is there overlap among these with Six Ravens, or are they all distinct concepts that could, at least in theory, also join the Walt Disney World lineup in the future?
Obviously, there’s risk in overextending and Disney having too much exposure with a single small business that could see its fortunes fall (just look at Sprinkles or Ample Hills), but on the other hand, Gideon’s Bakehouse is a massive success and has a level of originality, art direction, and storytelling that is just unrivaled among other third party restaurants at Walt Disney World. Based on what we know so far, it sounds like Six Raven is going to take that to the next level.
If Six Ravens proves to be a commercial and creative success–and all signs point to the case–it might behoove Walt Disney World to delve deeper into the Steve Lewis business. Honestly, it’s almost a bit sad that we’re getting another soap shop at the BoardWalk when we could’ve instead had another concept from the Gideon’s team! (And I’m otherwise very bullish on the BoardWalk changes!)
Previously, Six Ravens founder Steve Lewis shared an update on the new menu, which he described as accidentally leaked without key details. Namely, the behind-the-scenes collaborations with Orlando restaurants.
Lewis also confirmed that every Coffyn purchase will include a healthy dose of dipping sauce! No baby cups here. He also shared that, although a breakfast Coffyn was on the leaked menu, it will not be available when Six Ravens first opens. The restaurant needs time to find its footing first.
Along with that, he shared the following Six Ravens menu updates:

Six Ravens Background
Six Ravens is considered a quick service restaurant by Walt Disney World. The official website for Six Ravens also indicates it will not participate in the Disney Dining Plan. Not a huge surprise given the price points, as the Coffyns are sort of in-between snack and fully-fledged counter service meal status.
Work started on Six Ravens late last year and the restaurant was announced in mid-January. That happened after walls went up around the empty Art of Shaving store and signs started to appear–literally and figuratively–that Gideon’s was the ‘mystery tenant’ filling the vacancy.
Early last month, the storefront appeared finished, with walls being replaced by planters suggestive of an opening being imminent. Our best guess is that the goal was to have Six Ravens open a while ago, but the project (as with so many other recent ones) encountered delays and got pushed back.
At this point, summer is winding down and school is only a few weeks away from starting to go back into session, so the Gideon’s team has taken “it opens when it opens” perspective, got the greenlight to debut Six Ravens, and is going ahead with starting August 3, 2026.
Six Ravens Will Be a Huge Hit
We expect Six Ravens to be a huge hit and instant fan-favorite, just like Gideon’s Bakehouse. Even though the menu prices are slightly above-average for this type of location, it won’t matter. Six Ravens will also almost assuredly offer a higher quality product than most locations of this nature.
Given that plus its partnerships with local businesses plus its overall experience, guests will be perfectly happy to pay premium prices. Although Walt Disney World itself has deviated from this approach in certain ways, including at restaurants (substituting ingredients to reduce costs), it’s been Disney’s philosophy since the beginning. And it’s the approach taken around the corner at Gideon’s Bakehouse.
The ‘quality will always win out’ strategy has been a successful one for the bakehouse. From day one at Disney Springs, Gideon’s has had a long line. It’s continued to grow in popularity since. Guests line up for cookies and coffee, but also limited-edition collectible merchandise, special releases, and more. Below is a photo of the line from a random weekday this summer when Disney Springs was otherwise uncrowded.
We’re huge fans of Gideon’s Bakehouse, and have been anxiously awaiting this second concept announcement since the signs first went up. We first “discovered” Gideon’s back in 2017 shortly before moving to Florida, and it was hardly a discovery–all of our friends who lived in the area were already raving about it.
Gideon’s Bakehouse has been a smash sensation since opening at Walt Disney World. The existing location still uses a virtual queue at busier times, even 5+ years later. It’s developed a loyal fan following, and understandably so from our perspective, as the cookies are incredible and the shop’s seasonal releases keep people coming back. It’s worked on us!
Six Ravens is the most excited we’ve been for a new restaurant at Walt Disney World in a long time. We’re looking forward to savory foods to offset the sweets, and collaborations with other Central Florida restaurants we love (and miss!). There’s a ton of potential here, and the savory snack scene at Walt Disney World has room for improvement.
It’s also nice to see Walt Disney World embracing more locally-owned small businesses. As it stands, arguably 3 of the best options at Disney Springs are all based in the Orlando area! Maybe this will be a new trend, displacing the arguably played out celebrity chef approach that Disney Springs embraced when the district was first reimagined.
It’s time for something different, and Florida-based businesses are a great evolution to give Disney Springs more texture and personality. If these hand pies deliver–and we fully expect that they will–the one-two, sweet and savory punch of Six Ravens and Gideon’s Bakehouse suddenly becomes our optimal meal at Disney Springs!

Agree about the long term not being as packed as Gideon’s. We buy cookies to bring home to freeze and for souviners and that obviously won’t work for Sic Ravens.
Can’t wait to read reviews and with them well with the soft opening and beyond!
*Six
I’m really looking forward Six Ravens, will be on my list in September. But I am wondering if it will impact Gideon’s. I’m not sure people are going to want to wait for 45 minutes in line at the bakery and then another 45 minutes in line at Six Ravens. Especially if it’s hot, I hope there’s some shade for the line. Even if there is a virtual queue, I remember sometimes it was 2 to 3 hours for Gideon‘s back in the day. One of the things you would do is go get something to eat to pass some time. If you’re waiting for Six Ravens, you’re probably not going to get something to eat somewhere. It’s going to be interesting!
My guess is that, over time, Six Ravens will not be as popular as Gideon’s. The cookies captured lightning in a bottle, and have a huge following beyond just the Disney fan community. They’re a must for a lot of tourists as a result.
I fully expect Six Ravens to be very good, but I just have a hard time seeing it being that popular long-term. I’m guessing it’ll have a line most of the time, but a manageable one that people can do before returning to Gideon’s. Guess we’ll see!
Thank you for a wonderful article. As a local we are so looking forward to Six Ravens opening this week. It’s going to be crazy busy!
