We visited Disneyland for 2012’s “One More Disney Day” Leap Day promotion, which took place both there and at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Our journey actually begins at Walt Disney World, ironically enough. It was there, on New Year’s Day, where the TouringPlans team gathered and discussed the “news” of the 24-hour Leap
We headed to Disneyland for the “One More Disney Day” 24-hour event. The highlight of the trip would be spending 24-consecutive hours in Disneyland, but a trip to The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California was another highlight, as was seeing the ABC television series Modern Family film an episode inside Disneyland. The definite “lowlight”
The next morning was our last at Walt Disney World. This trip felt especially short, and for good reason: it was! We arrived later on our first night than we normally do, and we stayed for one less day than we normally do. Going forward, we’ll probably have to do this, due to our work
We got to Disney’s Hollywood Studios before the sunset, but unfortunately, there wasn’t a beautiful sunset to photograph from any of the places I scoured in the park. I’ve had this issue many times at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: it appears the sunset will be gorgeous as the sky leading up to it looks great, but
Epcot was looking beautiful when we arrived, as there were some light scattered clouds that gave a cool look to the sky in photos. I made the most of this, capturing a couple shots of Spaceship Earth. This added to ever-growing collection of “Spaceship Earth Fisheye Photos.” I mean, who doesn’t want thousands of photos
The late night took more of a toll on Sarah than it did on me. I was up and ready to go bright and early, and after grabbing a couple cups of Coke at BoardWalk Bakery (it wasn’t until the next morning—the last morning of our trip—that I noticed I could have gotten refills at
I was, in fact, able to access the upstairs ImageWorks. As the Cast Member escorted me upstairs on the elevator, I felt like pinching myself to make sure it was actually happening. If you read this blog even occasionally, it’s little secret that the original Journey into Imagination is my all-time favorite Walt Disney World
We didn’t arrive at Epcot right at rope drop the next morning, but we needed to catch up on sleep a bit. Still, I think we were there by around 10 am. Not bad, and it was a slow day at Epcot, anyway. Our first stop there was The Land pavilion, as it’s almost habit
After leaving Disney’s Animal Kingdom we had to head back to BoardWalk to grab warmer clothing. After all, it was in the 40s, which converts to about -35 degrees elsewhere (so I guess Florida is somewhat like Canada, in that regard). Unfortunately, we didn’t have a bus to ourselves, and this bus was planning on
As we left the Studios, we debated whether we should walk back to Boardwalk first to grab our coats, or if we should just go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom straight-away and come back before heading to the Magic Kingdom for the evening to grab our coats. As we walked past the Animal Kingdom bus stop,
It was the second day of our trip, and we still had yet to experience any attractions. To be fair, our Epcot visit was short-lived, especially for Sarah, but it still felt a little odd to visit the park and not do any attractions. On the agenda for that morning was Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We
