Boo To You Parade Disney Photos
The Boo To You Parade is right up there with Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade as the best parades shown at Walt Disney World Resort.
This parade is shown only during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and features several “units.” The first unit is called Mickey’s Trick-or-Treat Bash, which has a lot of characters and is heavily themed to Fantasyland. This is the cheeriest unit of the parade. Next comes the Yo-Ho Pirate-Palooza, which contains the pirate floats, including Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook. Following that is the Haunted Mansion Cemetery Soiree, which has some of the best performers of the parade, and is by far our favorite unit. Next is the Halloween Hooten-Nanny Hoedown, which is the Frontierland portion of the parade. The villains come next, in the Villains Groove-A-Go-Go. Goofy’s Trick-or-Treat Candy Hop concludes the parade with another lighter unit focused on candy.
These units are all great, and the music soundtrack for the Boo To You Parade is VERY catchy. It’s available on the Disney Magic Kingdom Event Party Music CD. We play ours almost daily during the Halloween season!

Your Thoughts…
Have you attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party? Do you think it’s worth the money? What do you think of the Boo to You Parade? Share your thoughts on these questions, or anything else, in the comments!
We are planning a trip to Disney this October and haven’t decided yet to get tickets, since they haven’t published the cost yet. Can you tell me if we don’t get tickets to the party can we still dress up in costumes in the Magic Kingdom? I have two older girls one wants to meet Sally and Jack Skellington, and she wants to wear her Sally costume (we love Halloween and dressing up, so last year she was Sally at age 16). I really want to go to the Halloween party but for a family of 5, not sure that we will be able to. Thanks for any information, and your pictures look great, I rrreeeaaaallllllyyyyy want to go now.
Tom,
Great pics! What lens did you use to shoot the parade? I’m assuming a fast prime like a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 or f/1.4. Trying to decide on what zoom range lens to rent for our next MNSSHP!
Thanks for any advice you can give!
Will be doing our very first Halloween Party, Sept 1st. Can’t wait!!
Our 60 day out, fast pass+ res’s are coming up, and trying to map out our touringplan.
Do you know what time the Boo parade, Hallowishes, and Villains starts?
Great parade, but they used to give out a ton of candy during the parade, not anymore, you’re lucky to get some at the end.
Next time you should try to get a shot when the gravediggers are shooting off sparks with their shovels on the ground. That is one of the best parts of the parade, I think
We just got back from WDW and went to the party. LOVED this parade! I thought the parade and the fireworks alone were worth the price of admission. We’ve seen many parades down Main Street through the years where the performers looked like they were phoning it in (especially in the heat of the day). It looked like they were ALL really into it! The grave diggers, the dancers, the goulish rock band…. LOVED it! We plan to go back next year… and we’re WAY older than you are!
Also… would you recommend eating supper after photos w/ characters and before the parade since all this excitement goes on during supper time? And if so, where in MK should we eat that would be quick, convenient, etc? Thanks so much!
This might be a silly question, but we’re going to the party on Thu 10/17. We will definitely go early, but what time should we be ready for the parade to start and how long does it last? Where is the best place to watch it with 2 6 year olds and 2 9 year olds? I’ve never been to DW before, totally overwhelmed b/c I don’t know the names of streets, stores, etc. Any advice would be appreciated! 🙂
We LOVED the Boo to You parade at Magic Kingdom in 2011. You can NOT get that song out of your head. We watched the parade twice, once right on Main Street to see that awesome headless horseman (kids still amazed by that) and once in Frontierland with ourngrub from Casey’s. Almost two years later and we are headed back in Sept to do it again. We thought the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom was worth the extra ticket splurge…although since we are only doing two days of park tix around a Disney cruise….the park ticket costs are staggering this time! I just saw that Disney cruises also do fun Halloween extras. If I would have known that I would have booked our Sept cruise just a few weeks later to see them because in our opinion there is nothing as cool as the characters in costumes. I read even Jack and Sally are on the cruises at Halloween. We saw those two at Disneyland last November for Christmastime and it was a highlight for my girls – their make up and mannerisms are off the hook!!
Tom, thanks for the awesome blog and photos. Please start blogging the cruises, too! We are first time cruisers with Disney.
I went to the parade with high hopes, but like Melanie, I was disappointed. I know we are in the minority, but I think it’s over-rated.
Really?! Wow… the only parade that we think might be better is the Christmas one, but we’re biased because we love Christmas!
We purchased tickets to the Halloween party at Disneyland this year and were so excited to see the parade. I’ve read your blog and marveled at the photographs for so long! I told my family all about the headless horseman, the awesome villians, etc. To our great disappointment, Disneyland doesn’t have this parade, merely a “kiddie” version of what they call a “costume cavalcade”. My boys missed going on rides, and we missed getting a decent standing area for the amazing fireworks, all because we waited for this extremely lame parade. I will most likely never live this down, and I have lost my cred with the family as “Disney Trip Advisor”. Beware Disneylanders, you will not see the Boo to You parade.
I think the Boo to You parade is the best thing about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party. We were considering buying tickets this year just to see the parade again, but decided to hold off on hard-ticket parties in the Magic Kingdom until the Fantasyland expansion is complete. I worried that without all of the former Toon Town area in use, the rest of the party would feel more cramped, or that I might feel like something was missing. What was your take on this year’s party as compared to previous years?
awwwww, this makes me so want to go!!! great pics!
The halloween party is my favortite 🙂
