2019 Amazon Prime Day Deals for Disney Fans & Travelers

Amazon’s Prime Day starts NOW and runs through tomorrow, with great deals on Disney toys, books, collectibles, travel accessories, and more! In this post, we round up the best discounted items that will be useful for your Walt Disney World vacations, or that will make great gifts…for yourself or others. (Last updated July 16, 2019 at 8 a.m.)

In case you’re unfamiliar with it, Prime Day is basically Amazon’s Christmas in July sale, and a “flex” on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since the bulk of deals during November and December holiday sales are basically found on Amazon, I guess it makes sense for the retail behemoth to create its own money-saving “holiday.” No joke, the last two years we’ve bought about the same amount on Prime Days as we have on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

In this post, I’ve aggregated the best deals that are likely to be of interest to Disney fans and travelers. Some things are Disney-specific, whereas others are non-Disney items. The former are fun items for collectors, parents, people doing gift shopping, and so on. The latter are practical items that would be useful for Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacations. If you want a broader selection of the current deals, check out Amazon’s Spotlight Prime Day Deals page for the biggest savings and most popular deals…

As with any of these promotional event sales, some of the “special offers” are great and some are…not so special. We’ve combed through the various deals and compared them to prices elsewhere and we’re only listing the deals here that are actually good…

Disney Travel Accessories

TravelPro Luggage Set – I swear by my TravelPro bag (it’s not this one–I don’t like spinners), and this is an exceptional deal on two pieces of luggage!

9 Piece Packing Cube Set – Anyone who has read our Ultimate Disney Parks Packing List knows that I swear by these things. This set is is a great deal–9 pieces for less than $20.

Compression Packing Cubes – They key here is that these are compression packing cubes, which normally cost more and will save you even more space when packing. If you need the suitcase space, we recommend this set over the eBags one. Be sure to clip the coupon for a bonus 20% off!

Anker PowerCore Phone Charger 20100mAh External Battery Pack – Great for charging multiple phones while at Walt Disney World, which will be imperative if you’re using My Disney Experience for FastPass+, or using social media at all. This one has a huge capacity–enough for the entire family!

Memory Foam Neck Pillow Airplane Travel Kit – This kit also includes a velour cover, sleep mask, and earplugs. Sarah swears by all of these things for longer flights, and this Prime Day Lightning Deal is a great discount!

Cricut Items – To be honest, I have no idea what any of this stuff is. Sarah said I should add it because her friends love this stuff for Disney use, and there are some great deals on the various products.

Packable Backpack – This is great not just because it’ll take up minimal room in your suitcase, but also (and more importantly) because it’s super lightweight. That minimizes the amount of back-sweat you’ll have to endure from the Florida heat and humidity. 😉 (Seriously though, it makes a world of difference!)

6-Port USB Travel Charger – Some newly-refurbished Disney hotel rooms are starting to get better about having enough charging ports, but we still always travel with one of these to charge our phones, cameras, watches, etc. at night.

Disney Toys & Fun Things

Thomas Kinkade The Disney Collection 4 in 1 Multipack Puzzles — 4 puzzles in 1 package, with 500 pieces per puzzle! Two of these feature Mickey & Minnie Mouse, with Snow White and Pocahontas rounding out the collection in dreamy landscape scenery!

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader’s Castle – Over 30% off on a huge, really cool Star Wars LEGO set. Act fast, as this will probably sell out quickly!

Disney Eye Found It Card Game— A card game version of the standard board game that we normally recommend—and an even better deal (40% off).

Disney Books

Use promo code PRIMEBOOK19 to save $5.00 when you spend $15.00 or more on books offered by Amazon.com. This makes many of the titles listed below 50-60% off!

One Little Spark!: Mickey’s Ten Commandments and The Road to Imagineering– A great title by Imagineering Legend Marty Sklar. With the discount code, this is a truly great deal! (Marty Sklar also has the posthumous Travels with Figment On the Road in Search of Disney Dreams coming out in November; this code makes that a good preorder option!)

The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic – If you’ve followed this blog around Christmas-time, you know we are huge fans of Muppet Christmas Carol. I’ve seen it more than any other film (the next closest is Terminator 2, for those keeping score at home). I absolutely cannot wait for this to come out. Unfortunately, it’s under the $15 threshold, but add a filler item and you’re there!

Eat Like Walt: The Wonderful World of Disney Food – This is not a cookbook, nor is it a phony attempt at sharing foods Walt Disney might’ve liked. Rather, it’s an interesting look at the history of the parks, along with rare photos. Truly an excellent book–be sure to clip the coupon below the price to save even more!

The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company – This is current Disney CEO Bob Iger’s forthcoming memoir, and I’m really curious about it. Iger is clearly a sharp and fascinating guy, but all of his interviews are played fairly close to the vest and feel meticulously scripted. I’m hoping he let’s his guard down a bit here and offers some personal and professional insights.

Marc Davis in His Own Words: Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks – I have been excited about this for two full years, since first learning about it at the last D23 Expo. It’s by Pixar director Pete Docter and Imagineer Christopher Merritt, and it’s a passion project about one of the true Walt-era Imagineering heavyweights. Even with 30% off (and minus another $5), it’s not cheap, but the preview we saw looks incredible. Potentially a top 5 Disney book of all-time!

Walt Disney’s Disneyland – This is what I ordered last Prime Day, and as you can read in our full book review, it’s one of my favorite Disney books of all-time. Anyone who has owned or even held a TASCHEN book knows why this is something special, and this deal can’t be beat!

Random Things We’ve Bought

While we’ve bought a few Disney books and travel accessories, most things we buy during Amazon Prime Day have nothing to do with Disney or travel. In this section, we’ll share some of the other items we’ve purchased today…giving you a glimpse into our boring day-to-day lives.

Fire TV Stick 4K bundle with Echo Dot – Note that this is only $22 after coupon, making it an insane deal. (I’ll be honest–the main reason we ordered this is because I lost our Fire Stick remote a few months ago and using the iPhone app as a remote sucks.)

Greenies Pet Treats – I’ll spare you the full list of what we bought…but suffice to say, Yossarian and Walter are spoiled!

Lifestraw Personal Water Filter – I use these when doing long hikes in remote areas. It’s an incredible product, and arguably necessary for Florida tap water! 😉

IZZE Sparkling Juice, 4 Flavor Variety Pack, 8.4 oz Cans, 24 Count – I’ve been trying to consume less sugar (a goal destined for failure as a Disney blogger) and have started getting into these sparkling drinks. Never tried this brand, but the price is right!

That’s it so far. I’m on the fence about Ingmar Bergman’s Criterion Cinema Set, which is a great deal, but it’s a lot of movies I’d realistically only ever watch once. I also would like the Millennium Falcon LEGO set, as well as a non-Disney train, but probably will hold off on both. If only we had kids to provide me an excuse for buying all the toys I want, ha!

Okay, that’s it for right now. There are a bunch of other great deals that are totally unrelated to Disney on the Amazon Prime Day homepage. We recommend browsing for yourself a bit, and checking back often, as new deals are regularly appearing–and disappearing. Just be mindful of the fact that some of these offers are time-sensitive, so you don’t want to spend too much time procrastinating and end up losing out!

Also, check back here throughout the deal, as I’ll share more Lightning Deals as they become available if they’re any good. Oh, and if you find anything that you think would be useful for other Disney fans, please share in the comments below!
