50% Off Kids for Disney Cruise Line Sailings in Fall 2026 to Spring 2027

Disney Cruise Line has released a new discount offering 50% off kids fares in Fall 2026 through Spring 2027! Here’s a rundown of the special offer, along with quick thoughts on the likelihood of more deals throughout this year.
In addition to this new deal for 2026 and 2027, there are currently last-minute discounts on sailings out of Florida and California to residents, as well as other targeted offers for the military and more. Just last week, we covered the New 25% Off Alaska & Europe Sailings for Summer 2026, which is a fantastic deal on fan-favorite itineraries.
Disney Cruise Line releasing another discount for this year and 2027 isn’t a huge surprise. Over the last year, we’ve seen a significant increase in DCL discounting with revenge travel burning off. Earlier this year, Disney Cruise Line released a new discount of up to 20% off select sailings in Spring & Summer 2026. That was available for select sailings on the Dream and Wish between April 2026 and July 2026, and just recently ended.
Our expectation is that even more deals are on the horizon in the second half of the summer. Last year brought a 40% Off Sale on Halloween & Christmas Sailings. That flash sale lasted one week and it was right before the start of the new fiscal year. We wouldn’t be surprised if that discount makes a comeback in late summer and early fall of 2026. Walt Disney World also had a lot of discounts around that same timeframe.
That was just one of several special offers Disney Cruise Line released last year. There were also stackable $250 onboard credits, targeted deals for Disney+ subscribers and Disney Visa cardholders, and more. There have also been a variety of special offers on select ‘Categories with Restrictions’ sailings, including up to 35% off select sailings earlier this year.
Against that backdrop, here are details of the new 50% off kids’ fares deal as part of the new “Together at Sea” special offer…

As always, we highly recommend working with Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Be Our Guest Vacations is our preferred travel agency, and they have many agents with extensive cruise experience and expertise.
Using a travel agency is advantageous when it comes to cruising–most will provide on-board credits based upon the size of the booking, along with itinerary advice and suggestions for the cruise. They’ll also deal with Disney on your behalf and, speaking from experience, this can be invaluable when something goes wrong. Especially if, like me, you hate talking on the telephone.
This is doubly true when you’re booking the longer and arguably more complicated itineraries. It’s less necessary for the shorter sailings, but potentially useful for first-timers.
Our Commentary
Based on my cursory searches, I’m seeing the 50% off kids fares deal available for 172 different sailings, all sailings departing from domestic home ports, all the way until Spring 2027. Lots of different options, from Halloween on the High Seas to Very Merrytime and more.
Savings obviously vary based on how many children are in your party and the specific itinerary, but using a December 21-27, 2027 Very Merrytime sailing as an example, the savings would be over $2,000 for an inside stateroom. That’s the higher end of the spectrum.
On the lower end, there’s a 3-Night Baja Cruise from San Diego that only amounts to $400 in savings. Still better than nothing, but obviously not quite on par with the $2,000 deal. Lots of savings in between; the $1,000 to $1,500 range seems to be about the norm for two kids. At the risk of stating the obvious, it’s half that for one…or more for 3!
If you’re wondering about the Halloween or Christmas cruises, see our Review: Are ‘Halloween on the High Seas’ Disney Cruise Line Sailings Worth It? Similar sentiment applies to the Very Merrytime Cruises. My abbreviated answer to both is that “it’s complicated,” but we generally view both as nice atmospheric enhancements or value-adds, but not something we’d book if you want to be immersed in the spirit of the season. Do Disneyland or Walt Disney World for that.
This 50% off kids’ fares promo is a variation of a recurring Disney Cruise Line discount we’ve seen in the past a few times over the years. Most recently, it was released last summer as 50% off the 3rd and 4th guests (no age restriction nor any discount on a 5th guest) on select sailings last year and in 2026 with two full-fare guests were booked in the same stateroom.
Prior to that, there was a Disney+ deal for 50% off kids (again with two full-fare guests in the same stateroom) that was released in late 2024 for January through June 2025 sailings that even more closely mirrors this 2027 discount. Both of these deals excluded the newer ships.
Dig back into the archives a bit deeper, and there was another Disney+ deal offering third and fourth guests sail free with two full-fare guests in each stateroom, for up to 2 staterooms, during select sailings on the Disney Magic, Dream and Fantasy from January 2023 through April 2023.
The targeted Disney+ angle is immaterial, but what is material is that this discount was released back in Fall 2022 as before revenge travel really arrived in full force for Disney Cruise Line. I know that feels like an eternity ago, but DCL still had not dropped all health safety protocol at that time. It was a totally different demand dynamic for the cruise industry than it was the parks, as we’ve discussed in previous posts.
Beyond this, our commentary about the increased DCL deals is more or less the same it’s been for the last year-plus. This is largely a story of a course correction from the post-COVID recovery period. Prices had skyrocketed for DCL due to pent-up demand for cruising, which lagged the theme parks due to the slower phased reopening.
Basically, that people had done theme park trips first, then cruises. As with theme parks, which saw pent-up demand exhaust itself starting in 2023-2024, DCL was seeing the same trend play out, albeit delayed by 18 months to 2 years. And as with theme parks, the price increases driven by the pent-up demand era were unsustainable longer term, hence more discounting.
We’re still seeing this same dynamic with Walt Disney World and Disneyland, both of which have 2026 special offers that are among their best deals in the last decade. Now it’s Disney Cruise Line’s turn for its own price “correction,” but since Disney never lowers base prices, the solution is likewise more special offers.
Disney Cruise Line is probably seeing demand decelerate as consumers balk at higher prices. This still hasn’t been discussed during quarterly earnings calls, but a lot can be masked by the introduction of new ships.
At the risk of stating the obvious, DCL’s year-over-year revenue numbers are going to continue going up as long as Disney Cruise Line has new ships coming online and keeps opening up new reservations. It would be cause for serious concern if DCL saw a downturn in raw numbers at any point between now and ~2030.
More ships coming online also means that, even if demand were completely unchanged (or even slightly higher), there would be downward pressure on prices by virtue of the increased supply of staterooms. This is the same reason that one of our ‘unpopular opinions’ is that Walt Disney World should build more hotels. It’s a simple story of supply and demand–and that really shouldn’t be an unpopular opinion!
Ultimately, lower prices and bigger discounts are better for consumers. In this case, the biggest beneficiaries are relatively last-minute travelers, but that’s almost always the case with Disney Cruise Line discounts–the goal is filling staterooms that are a perishable good and would otherwise go empty. And it’s clear that targeted discounts to Floridians, Cast Members, Canadians, etc., won’t be enough, so we should see more general public deals!
The exhaustion of pent-up demand and Disney Cruise Line bring new capacity online via fleet expansion is fantastic for fans. It should put downward pressure on pricing, and not just via discounts. DCL pricing has skyrocketed in recent years, to the point that rational consumers doing a cost-benefit analysis of Disney versus other cruise lines might have a tough time justifying the latter. Of course, with all things Disney, emotion comes into play just as much as cold, hard logic. But it’d nevertheless be nice for the objective comparison to pencil out a little more favorably!
