D23 Expo 2015 Live Updates
Looking for live coverage of the 2015 D23 Expo, including any news and updates for Walt Disney World and Disneyland? We will have it here! From the Parks & Resorts booth that will feature details about the World of Pandora (AVATAR Land) and Shanghai Disneyland to any surprise announcements about Star Wars Land…and anything else that comes up, I will share it here live.
Last night I got the chance to preview the show floor, including the Walt Disney Archives ‘Disneyland: The Exhibit’ booth, which celebrated 60 years of Disneyland with some cool pieces of Disneyland history. This booth has one spot devoted to Country Bear Jamboree, which alone says everything you need to know about how awesome it is.
If you’re heading out to the D23 Expo this year, you’re in for a treat, as there are a lot of cool looking booths and Disneyland: The Exhibit is just one of many things that looks well worth seeing.
For starters, we have separate posts for the three big pieces of news:
- Star Wars Land Announced for Walt Disney World & Disneyland
- Toy Story Land Announced for Walt Disney World
- New Details About Pandora – World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom
Okay, here are some photos from the D23 Expo….
John Lasseter gets the crowd hyped for the kickoff of D23 Expo weekend. Now let’s take a look at some of the items in Disneyland: The Exhibit…
There’s a whole section devoted to costuming.
The awesome monkeys from Fantasmic.
Main Street Electrical Parade Cheshire Cat float.
A pretty cool look at America Sings. You might also recognize some of the characters from Splash Mountain.
The booth has several ride vehicles and ‘scenes’ from their respective attractions.
Various Disneyland items.
This model Main Street Electrical Parade on Main Street is so awesome…I could’ve looked at it for hours.
Table setting from Club 33 pre-refurbishment, plus some original art that graced the walls.
Pirates of the Caribbean tribute.
YES! Country Bear Jamboree tribute. I think we can all agree that the booth should have just been one big CBJ tribute, but oh well. Something is better than nothing.
Alice figure from the recently refurbished Alice in Wonderland dark ride.
Mickey Mouse Club outfit
Finally, where it all started–the very first Disneyland ticket. Slightly cheaper than today’s!

I found the picture!!! After all this time! Thank you for including me in your blog! ~MoJo
Nightmare Fuel, hysterical.
Everything looks amazing! Any updates on Toy Story 4?
These pics are simply beautiful. Splash Mtn and CBJ – 2 pf my favorites!
I know much of the focus has been on HS & AK (Pandora) – any news on Epcot or MK? (Saw the Skipper Canteen announcement in Adventureland.)
Looks like they’ve now announced more toy story rides. Any news or pictures?
I would love to know what is going on at Hollywood Studios. Also I would love for them to announce a Inside Out movie replacing Captain Eo I think the emotions would make a good tie in with Figment (also I want the original Journey ride brought back, but eh I am realistic at this point).
I would like to watch a stream of the parks and resort update at 3pm tomorrow. Are you going to have it, or do you know of somewhere I can see it?
Hey Tom! Thanks for updates! Any way you could get shots of the D23 Design Challenge finalists? I entered and wasn’t selected, but would love to see the winners!
Thanks, Tom, for doing this for those of us who cannot be there in person!!
Was that Electrical Main Street parade models the one from Olszewski Studios or was this something totally different?
Yes it was. Beautiful!
Yay! Will these updates be for the parks only or Disney announcements in general? (I know DTB focuses on the parks, but I thought I’d ask…)
Gosh I wish I could be there!
Thank you for the blog! Receiving the newsletter email discussing articles I haven’t seen yet made me realize that, most likely since the site redesign, the rss feed no longer works, so I didn’t even realize I was missing two weeks worth of articles! Just figured you were on a long trip. Anyway, if you were aware of this, is there any plan to bring an rss feed back online? Thank you!
Yes! I second the RSS hope.
