Disney World Resort Deal for Visa Cardmembers in Spring & Summer 2024

Walt Disney World has released new resort room-only discounts for Disney Visa Cardmembers through Summer 2024. This post shares the details of these special offers, which include good deals during the heart of Spring Break season. Plus, commentary about the savings, sample pricing, analysis & other info.

This is one of a growing number of special offers that has been released thus far for 2024 Walt Disney World vacations, with offers for Annual Passholders, Floridians, Disney+ subscribers, and Disney Visa cardholders. Then of course there’s the big discount right now: 2024 Free Dining at Walt Disney World.

For every other special offer that’s currently available, see All Current Walt Disney World Discounts for 2024. There are promos available for pretty much all dates between now and late Summer or early Fall 2024, with even more targeted special offers available for select guests. So that list is worth checking out if you’re debating a trip sometime in 2024. It should probably go without saying, but more discounts for travel dates beyond October 2024 will be released down the road, too…

Per Walt Disney World, here are the deal details: Stay in the magic at Walt Disney World Resort! Disney Visa Cardmembers can enjoy special Cardmember rates at select Disney Resort hotels this spring. Rates vary based on room type, resort hotel, and travel dates. For example, use your Disney Visa Card to book a stay—and take advantage of special rates—at the following Resort hotels:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort – $129 per night, plus tax for a Standard Room, for stays most nights from March 25 through April 27, 2024
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – $229 per night, plus tax for a Standard View Room (accommodates up to 5 Guests), for stays most nights from March 25 through June 29, 2024
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – $419 per night, plus tax for a Resort View Room, for stays most nights from March 25 through June 29, 2024

Plus, enjoy other great rates at the following Disney Resort hotels for stays most nights from March 25 through June 29, 2024:

  • The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort – Preferred Room
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort – Preferred Room and Family Suites
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Standard View and Savanna View Rooms)
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (Cars Family Suites)
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

There is no resort by resort rate discount chart for this Disney Visa Cardmembers deal, and after a number of searches I couldn’t reverse-engineer the percentage savings for the various resort tiers. They’re all over the place. With that said, here’s what we found for the best available rates:

This search is for the night of May 14, 2024, which is part of the Regular 2 rate season at Walt Disney World. On the rack rate chart spectrum, this is (as the name suggests) about average, pricing-wise. Similarly-priced dates can be found from April 6 through May 14, 2024 and May 16-23, 2024.

This could explain why Walt Disney World’s example indicates that those sample prices are valid “for most nights” during the travel timeframe–because most nights occur within the same rate season. Who knows, though. Disney’s verbiage to promote these promos often confounds me. In this case, I’m scratching my head wondering why $129 is the example price for the All Stars when I’m seeing $124 for more dates. One of life’s great mysteries.

If you’re wondering what the higher end of the spectrum looks like, here you go:

That’s the pricing for Easter weekend. The ‘why’ of that date being more expensive should be fairly obvious, and you’re going to encounter prices on par with these for about the 10 days before the holiday itself. Prices throughout the second half of March 2024 are generally higher, as that’s the heart of Spring Break season. (Honestly, though, they’re not as bad as I would’ve expected given demand for those dates.)

For more on timing your trip to coincide with the lowest prices, see When’s Cheapest to Visit Walt Disney World in 2024? That covers price increases and other variables that impact the cost of a vacation beyond just room rates.

If you’re not sure of which hotel to book, be sure to check out our new Rankings of ALL Resort Hotels at Walt Disney World from Worst to Best. Several of the resorts with the biggest savings are in the top 10!

Other eligibility details are mostly boilerplate–that you use a valid Disney Visa Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card to pay the deposit, and that the Disney Visa Cardmember must stay in the room. Additional per-adult charges may apply if more than 2 adults per room at Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts and Studios at Deluxe Villa Resorts. Maximum length of stay under this deal is 14 nights. Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion. Yada yada yada.

The one asterisk worth noting here is that the list of exclusions is (much) longer than normal. Offer excludes the following room types: Fort Wilderness Campsites, 3-Bedroom Villas, The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms, The Lion King Family Suites, Finding Nemo Family Suites, and Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Standard View – King Bed, Pool View, Pool View – King Bed, Savanna View – King Bed, Savanna View – King Bed – Club Level Access, Standard View, 1 Bedroom Suite – Club Level Access, 2 Bedroom Suite – Club Level Access, Royal Kuba VP Suite – Club Level Access, Royal Asante Presidential Suite – Club Level Access at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Water View, Standard Room – Club Level, Deluxe Room – Club Level, Outer Building – Garden Room – Club Level Access, 2 Bedroom Suite (Accessible) – Club Level, 2 Bedroom Suite – Club Level, Sonora VP Suite – Club Level, Steeplechase Presidential Suite – Club Level at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Standard View, Water or Pool View, Water or Pool View – 5th Sleeper, King Bed, or Preferred Room at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

If you’re having difficulty reading that list and figuring out which room types go with which resorts, you’re not alone. Or maybe I’m just bad at reading. The key takeaway, I think, is that most of Art of Animation is excluded (beyond Cars), a lot of the Club Level and suites at Animal Kingdom Lodge are excluded, ditto BoardWalk Inn, and everything but standard view at Caribbean Beach Resort is excluded. So basically, what the list of included resorts explicitly states, plus the standard exclusions of campsites and 3-BR villas.

Reservations may be made by calling the Disney Reservation Center at (407) 939-5262 or via your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. As with most Disney Visa Cardholder deals, tracking down how to book it online is a bit of a wild goose chase, but this deal is also bookable online HERE.

If you want to take advantage of this discount, we’d recommend requesting a FREE no obligation quote from Be Our Guest Vacations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and having them book for you. They will happy to assist you with the planning process, help you choose the most economical dates, best add-ons, and so forth. Notably, they also monitor reservations and can retroactively apply new discounts if a better deal is released to save you more money.

As far as commentary goes, I don’t really think much is necessary given that there are already several discounts available for this same date range. With that said, I do want to reiterate something I wrote back in September when the first wave of deals was released for March 2024.

It’s odd to me that Walt Disney World is discounting so aggressively during the Spring Break season. This was an early ‘red flag’ month for us, as normal Spring Break crowds and Easter Spring Break crowds are going to be consolidated from mid-March until early April rather than spread out across March and April 2024. Even with revenge travel burning out and a slowdown likely on the horizon, the final 3 weeks of March 2024 are going to be very busy. It is inevitable.

That’s more or less what we wrote back in September, when it really seemed like attendance and occupancy would continue trending downward throughout 2024, after starting to do so after Easter last year. However, since the tail end of the holiday season and throughout January 2024, we’ve seen somewhat surprisingly elevated crowds, more sold out hotel nights, and reports from VisitOrlando of higher forward-looking hotel reservations (not specific to Walt Disney World) and higher anticipated air travel passenger volume.

Given all of that and the reality that Spring Break rack rates really aren’t that bad in the first place (at least relative to the major holidays that just happened in November and December), we’re really left wondering: what gives?

There does seem to be relatively ample availability under this Disney Visa Cardholder deal in our sample searches, and March/April are only a month or two away at this point, so bookings should be stronger than they were back in September/October of last year when these discounts first started being released. If Walt Disney World is seeing sufficiently low occupancy to justify releasing this discount for Spring Break season relatively last-minute, that’s probably accurate. It’s still a bit surprising to me.

Before you get too excited about that, don’t extrapolate much (if anything) as to what it means about attendance or crowd levels at Walt Disney World during Spring Break. This does not mean it won’t be busy. It will be busy! As discussed in Why Are Walt Disney World Resorts Sold Out in 2024?, hotel availability (or lack thereof) is not necessarily a good predictor of crowd levels. There are too many moving parts and added variables.

Of course, that post was about sold out hotels not meaning the parks will be packed, but the flip side of that is also true. The majority of guests in the parks at any given moment come from off-site. This includes those staying in third party hotels around Orlando, but it also includes the growing population in Central Florida and beyond within driving distance. That latter demographic is the big one during Spring Break season, as they don’t need a room to visit the parks during Spring Break. The week that Orange County has Spring Break has been one of the worst of the year the last few years.

As far as pricing goes with this discount, it’s difficult to assess because there’s no set percentage savings. What we’d strongly recommend doing is logging into your My Disney Experience account, searching your dates, figuring out which resort(s) you’d like to book, clicking that, and toggling among the different discounts to see pricing.

In our sample searches, it was almost always the case that the Disney Visa Cardholder deal was better than the general public offer for shorter (but not longer) stays, about the same as the Florida resident deal, and worse than the Annual Passholder discount. None of these are hard-and-fast rules, though. Like the Pirate’s Code, more like guidelines.

I don’t doubt that some Walt Disney World vacation planners will find this to be the best discount available to them, and others will find it inferior to all of their options. That’s how this usually works, and the hit-or-miss nature of deals will be compounded by there being no set-savings chart for this new Disney Visa Cardmember deal. You’ve gotta do the dirty work yourself and price out options.

Ultimately, this is another discount that’s considerably better than what we were seeing in 2021-2022, which continues a trend that began at the start of last year, really accelerated with the last two rounds of discounts, and was punctuated by the return of Free Dining. As always, plan on being flexible with your hotel choice, room category, and even travel dates for the biggest savings.

Walt Disney World offering more discounts to the general public is great news, and definitively demonstrates that travel trends are normalizing now after running hot for way too long. During that period of pent-up demand, Walt Disney World was able to ‘get away’ with pretty much anything and still see record guest spending and insatiable demand. Consumers now appear to once again have more leverage, and companies need to entice them to visit.

This should be an interesting saga to follow, and it’s almost certain that we haven’t seen the end of Walt Disney World’s efforts to woo back former fans and pull “levers” to incentivize more demand and guest spending. If bookings remain soft for 2024, it’ll be interesting to see what type of more unique promotions are released for the second half of the year…it sure feels like things are trending in the right direction for even more aggressive offers–and a second wave of Free Dining!
