Early Holiday Disney Deals at Amazon!
The holiday season is unofficially underway at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, as well as in the Bricker household. Our decorations are out and ready to go up, I’m using my favorite Christmas coffee mug while typing this, and listening to the old Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Main Street BGM as I scheme about which ‘ugly’ sweaters I’ll wear to that and Jollywood Nights this weekend.
Some might claim it’s too early for Christmas. Halloween literally just happened and “Turkey Before Tree” or something like that. To that, we say: you do you! We started celebrating Halloween on (checks notes) August 9. When your life is immersed in Disney theme parks, the concept of seasons or even holidays becomes warped. We were “over” Halloween before October even started.
At this point, Christmas decorations are already up in Magic Kingdom, Jingle Cruise is setting sail, and we’re counting down the days until the fun and festivities officially begin later this week. Perhaps I’m getting into the spirit of the season a bit too early, but it comes with the territory. And honestly, I love Christmas. Two months is the appropriate amount of time to celebrate the year’s best holiday.
Anyway, as head of the household Party Planning Committee, I’ve convened an emergency meeting to ensure we have all of the supplies needed for Christmas 2024. Since we start celebrating the holiday season right now, we don’t like to wait for Black Friday to buy Christmas-related items. In the last couple of years, that has really become an artificial distinction, anyway, as Amazon starts sales earlier–and sometimes the best deals can be found earlier in November.
However, we still hedge. What I mean by this is that we’ll buy certain things we want now, and then check back on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to see if things are cheaper. If so, we simply buy them again and return the duplicate to our local Whole Foods. There are plenty of times when the item is actually less expensive before the big deal days, so this strategy works out pretty well. And it gives us things we want to celebrate the holiday season prior to December.
The good news is that there’s actually a ton of good holiday merchandise from Disney, but it’s not being sold at Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Instead, there’s a HUGE Christmas Disney Shop on Amazon, most of which is being sold at significantly lower prices than what you’ll find in the parks. In this post, we share some of our favorite picks along with random thoughts.
When it comes to these Christmas items, we receive a small commission from your purchases, so buying through these links helps support the site. However, neither the price you pay nor our recommendations are impacted by that. You can tell I’m being sincere with these picks based on the total absence of Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise.
Anyway, let’s get started with the best of the holiday Disney deals we’ve found thus far…
Loungefly Gingerbread Scented Christmas Backpack – This Christmas-themed backpack featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse is adorable, and smells like gingerbread. I’m actually on the fence about whether that’s a good or bad thing? It’d probably make me hungry all the time. Either way, great deal ahead of the holiday season.
JoyJolt Disney Christmas Glasses – There are a bunch of different options from JoyJolt that are on sale, but the ‘Joy Oh Joy’ set is the only that qualifies as Christmas. They have a classy, mid-century look that matches our new tree skirt perfectly. High quality, with a nice weighted base, too. My bet is that these will be cheaper–perhaps significantly so–on Black Friday. In the meantime, I’d highly recommend the non-holiday Mickey Pants and Minnie Skirt 3D 7.4oz Double Wall Glass Coffee Cups, which are 40% off and a fantastic deal right now.
Funko Disney Winnie The Pooh Snow Parade Game – MUST-BUY ALERT. This game is currently available as a Lightning Deal for only $1.99. That’s all you need to know. Get it before it sells out!!!
Funko Pop! Chip ‘n’ Dale Christmas Treasures Game — As a huge fan of Pluto’s Christmas Tree, this was an instant order for me when this came out. The fast-paced, easy-to-learn card game features beautiful illustrations inspired by the classic 1950’s Disney Christmas cartoons. This actually is not on sale at all right now, but it’s cheap enough that it’s “worth it” to have it way before Christmas.
Ravensburger Disney Lorcana TCG: Gateway – This isn’t technically a holiday item, but if there’s any time to get into Lorcana–the excellent trading card game that has a huge following in the Disney fandom–it’s now, before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and whatever other family gatherings you have on the horizon.
This new ‘Gateway’ package includes two prebuilt decks is filled with special versions of Disney friends called “glimmers” that are ready to join you on your adventure. With Disney Lorcana Gateway, you’ll learn both how to play them and ways they can work together. At 38% off, this is a fantastic deal–for the entire package, you’re paying the cost of a pack of cards. Worth the $15 gamble if you’ve yet to give Lorcana a shot. You might end up loving it!
LEGO Disney Advent Calendar (2024) – Surprise kids aged 5 and up with a 253-piece buildable toy packed with 24 days of characters, activities and surprises. Each day offers a new festive build or character to inspire play, plus the Advent calendar box turns into a game board. If Megatron were “aged 5 and up,” this would be an instant-buy.
Other LEGO options that are available for at least 20% off include:
- LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar (2024)
- LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (2024)
- LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (2023 – on clearance)
- LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (2024 – 36% off!!!)
Sometimes past-year versions will pop-up at a deeper discount, so it’s worth checking the LEGO Advent Calendar listings on Amazon to see everything that’s available.
Funko Pop! Disney Advent Calendar – I don’t need to repeatedly rehash my thoughts on the dead-eyed Funko Pops. Setting aside personal aesthetic preferences, it’s impossible to deny the quality of the Funko figures. It’s with that in mind that we recommend this.Â
While we aren’t the target audience, we nevertheless think this looks like a better option than all of the Advent calendars with too many stickers and paper items. For only a few dollars more, the Funko option appears to be much nicer.
Funko Pop! Advent Calendar: Pixar 2024 – The exact same idea as the Disney one above, but Pixar. And despite being a new release, it’s already on sale. This one is currently 44% off as a Lightning Deal, making it an even cheaper option than the Disney calendar above.
Lionel Disney Mickey Mouse Express Train – Join Mickey and Friends to spread Christmas spirit in this present filled Disney train set that makes a great gift for kids and train hobbyists–perfect for around the tree.
Lionel Disney-Pixar Toy Story Train – Join Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s favorite toys on an adventure that will take your imagination to infinity and beyond with the Toy Story Ready-to-Play Battery-Powered Model Train Set with Remote by Lionel. This one is seemingly an even better deal at 43% off!
Lionel Disney Christmas Express Electric Bluetooth Train Set – Bring the magic of Christmas and the wonder of Disney to your home this holiday season. Mickey, Minnie, and the gang are celebrating a holiday to remember by decorating and gathering presents while enjoying the company of good friends.
Just in looking at it, you can tell the last train on this list is much more serious than the above two options. It’s the train set for adults or big kids, whereas the others are aimed at smaller children. Whether it’s worth triple the cost…I have no clue. Probably one of those, “if you don’t already know, it probably isn’t” type of things. In any case, 25% off shaves a lot off the price!
Thomas Kinkade Disney’s 24 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar – This set contains 24 mini puzzles that create one 1,000-piece puzzle. Features your favorite Disney characters – Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald & Daisy Duck, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Moana, Pinocchio, Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, Stitch, 101 Dalmatians, Mulan, Little Mermaid, and Tangled.
I’m intrigued by this. I’ve been getting into puzzles and really enjoy Advent calendars, but have never purchased one that combines the two. This might be the Advent puzzle that changes that!
Mickey’s 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar – Same idea. This contains one 300 piece Christmas tree shaped puzzle and eleven 100 piece ornament shaped puzzles. Features your favorite Disney characters – Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Woody, Simba, Elsa, Moana, Buzz Lightyear, Tinker Bell, Tiana, Sulley, Lightning McQueen and more!
I like this, too. It’s technically a better deal (be sure to clip the coupon), and I prefer that it’s all-Christmas puzzles. But I also like the Thomas Kinkade art. Decisions, decisions.
Thomas Kinkade Disney Collection Christmas Puzzles — Nothing says Christmas like sitting by the fireplace in comfy pajamas, doing a puzzle. And there’s something about Thomas Kinkade art that just oozes warmth and coziness. There are a bunch of other Kinkade Christmas puzzles, if you’d prefer a different design. Most of them are 5% more expensive, but that’s a difference of less than a dollar.
Disney Christmas Cookbook: 50 Delicious Recipes – Featuring 50 beginner-friendly recipes with simple step-by-step instructions–plus mouth-watering photos of every dish–this cookbook invites readers to craft delicious holiday-themed treats while enjoying captivating illustrations of beloved Disney and Pixar heroes.
This was just released last month, so we haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. Honestly, we probably won’t. We’ve acquired about a dozen Disney cookbooks over the years, almost none of which are used for actual cooking. I prefer the ones that infuse history or something else with the recipes. You may feel differently–and this is on sale.
Santa Stops at Disneyland (Little Golden Book) – The Disney Parks Little Golden Books are fantastic, with gorgeous art and cute stories. This mixes Christmas and Disneyland, making it a must-own for us. This is one of Megatron’s favorite books.
Disney 5-Minute Christmas Stories — Join in the festivities of the season as Mike and Sully race to light the big Christmas tree, Alice finds the Red Queen’s present, Peter Pan brings Christmas to Never Land, and more!
Disney Christmas Storybook Collection — Join Ralph and Vanellope as they throw a Christmas party just for the Bad Guys; trim the tree with Woody, Buzz and the rest of the Toy Story gang; follow Elsa as she tries to create the best holiday ever for her sister, Elsa; and more.
The Muppet Christmas Carol: The Illustrated Holiday Classic – If you’ve followed this blog around Christmas-time, you know we are huge fans of Muppet Christmas Carol. I’ve seen it more than any other film (the next closest is Terminator 2, for those keeping score at home).
We cannot wait to read this to Megatron. We haven’t done so yet because she is very ‘hands on’ when reading, and this book is a work of art. But it’s also more delicate than our go-to board books. We’re debating purchasing a spare for her, because it’s such an affordable, artistic book.
Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks: Celebrations Around the World — This is an incredible deep dive into the holidays (mostly Christmas and Halloween, but also Easter and other seasonal events) with great photos, detailed information, and rich history. If you love the seasonal events, this is an absolute must-own.
Disney Vintage Goofy Holiday Presents T-Shirt – This is the only worthwhile article of Christmas clothing that’s currently on sale, which is something of a rarity. As much as I like this shirt, it’s still $17. I guess that’s cheap by shirt standards–certainly less expensive than anything you could get at Walt Disney World. On the other hand, I paid $10 for my favorite Santa Mickey shirt a couple years ago. Â
