The Land in Bloom

When we were at Epcot last week, it was apparent that the park was already preparing for Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival. The patch of grass near the Imagination pavilion that normally has a beautifully themed flower bed during Flower & Garden Festival was torn up, with markers and outlines of a design in the soil. Beyond that, the park was already beginning to look beautiful, with brightly colored flowers throughout Future World.

These flowers near the Land pavilion are a prime example. As you look at this photo, you may be wondering where it was taken, as there’s no flower bed directly in front of the Land sign. It actually was taken about 200 or so feet away, with a lot of zoom and a lot of cropping done to produce the final shot. I really wish there were a flower bed like this right in front of the Land sign, as I think it’d be pretty fitting given the theme of the pavilion! Seeing all of these flowers really got me excited for Flower & Garden Festival!

Technical details: single exposure (non-HDR) shot with a handheld Nikon D7000 and Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Lens at 85mm; moved back from subject and zoomed in to get distant flower bed in frame and to create perspective compression. See our guide for more photography equipment recommendations.
