New 40% Off Disney World Resort Hotels Flash Sale Starts Soon for Summer 2026 & Beyond!

A new flash sale on Walt Disney World resort hotels starts very soon. This exclusive limited-time discount offers up to 40% off room rates for trips in summer and beyond, and appears to be a repeat of last year’s ‘Christmas in July’ deal that was frustrating at first but turned out to be a superlative (but very YMMV) special offer. Here’s everything we know so far, along with our expectation for more WDW discounts on the horizon.

Let’s start with what’s already available for booking right now. Exactly one month ago, Walt Disney World released its late 2026 discounts. This includes a general public discount of up to 20% off resorts for stays October 4, 2026 through December 24, 2026. That’s the most straightforward, universally-applicable discount. It’s also not great!

In addition to that, there’s a Florida resident deal that maxes out at 25% off, but it’s only valid October 19-31, November 15-28, and December 13-24, 2026. That’s where it pays to be an AP, as the Annual Passholder version isn’t just slightly better at up to 30% off, but it encompasses all dates from October 4, 2026 through December 24, 2026.

The best quasi-general public deal released on that date is the Save 25% Off Disney World Resorts + Free Park Hopper Ticket Upgrade. With that, Disney+ subscribers enrolled in the Disney+ Perks program can receive a free Park Hopper add-on and save up to 25% on rooms when purchasing a 4-night, 4-day room & ticket package for select dates from September 25, 2026 through (again) Christmas Eve.

Similar to the AP and Floridian rates, that’s targeted to “only” Disney+ subscribers. However, there’s obviously a lot lower barrier to entry for a streaming service subscription (we get nonstop emails to come back for $4.99/month) than moving to Florida and purchasing an Annual Pass.

Current WDW Deals

If you’re visiting before October, there are several other special offers that are still available for late summer. Here’s a quick refresher of those:

• 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket: Starting at $99/day for visits through October 3, 2026. One park per day, one admission per park. For guests who fit squarely within the parameters of this ticket, it’s an incredible deal. • Stay Longer & Save More Room Deal: Stays of 5+ nights at Walt Disney World resort hotels can save up to 30% through October 3, 2026.
• Deep Disney+ Discount on Rooms: This is the big one, and it returns for a second straight summer. Unfortunately, room inventory has largely sold out for this discount, but we fully expect it to return. See Deep Disney+ Discount on WDW Resorts in Summer 2026.
• Florida Residents and Annual Passholders: The best deals are reserved for Floridians (up to 35% off) and APs (up to 40% off).

There are some truly great deals to be had in late summer and the upcoming off-season; much better than what’s currently available starting October 4, 2026 and beyond.

Although sticker prices do not bear this out, summer has become the cheapest time to visit Walt Disney World. The months of June through August are when the biggest and best discounts are typically available, and this year once again offers several stackable special offers that bring prices down to 2018 or 2019 levels.

Priceline July & August 2026 Flash Sale Dates & Details

Against that backdrop, here’s the announcement of the 2026 Priceline flash sale for Walt Disney World resorts:

To celebrate Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Walt Disney World Resort, Priceline is offering travelers a limited-time opportunity to save on their next Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

From July 27 through August 2, 2026, travelers can save up to 40% on Disney Resorts Collection hotels at Walt Disney World Resort when booking through Priceline.com. Whether you’re squeezing in one last summer vacation or planning a future trip, this exclusive offer makes it easier to experience the magic for less.

Breaking it down, the basics are as follows:

1. Priceline is running a flash sale on Walt Disney World resorts starting July 27, 2026 and continuing through August 2, 2026.
2. The discount will offer up to 40% off Walt Disney World resorts
3. Travel dates will seemingly cover late Summer 2026 and beyond
4. It’s an exclusive offer

That’s it. If you have questions about this flash sale, well, so do we. Priceline sent out this press release via email with an offer to answer questions, and I sent several to their PR team. As soon as we hear back, you’ll know. But my guess is that the deal will go live before there’s any clarity. Regardless, here are our biggest unanswered questions…

What We Still Don’t Know

Specifically, here are the big unknowns along with our expectations:

1. Discount dates. For the reasons discussed below, our expectation is that the sweet spot for the deal is roughly August 16, 2026 through October 3, 2026. Actual dates might vary, but that range will likely offer the most substantial savings.
2. Discount tiers. Walt Disney World discounts of this nature would typically offer 40% off for Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas, 35% off Moderates, and 30% off Value Resorts. That is probably directionally accurate for the degree of discounting, but we wouldn’t expect set tiers to be articulated.
3. Eligible resorts. Normal Walt Disney World special offers are, at least on paper, available at all resorts. Don’t expect that to be the case here. Lower occupancy hotels, like Coronado Springs (outside conventions), All Stars, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and more of the usual suspects are more likely than, say, the Polynesian or Pop Century.
4. What time the discount will go live. Last time, the official site went up around midnight, but the deals weren’t actually loaded into the system until the following morning. It was chaotic and confusing, and we’re hoping this is not a repeat of that. Regardless, the launch time could be anytime between midnight and morning. Not helpful, I know.

Priceline’s Past Precedent

As you might recall, Priceline ran a very similar flash sale last July, which coincided with Amazon Prime Day and was dubbed the “Priceline Happiest Price on Earth Sale.” That deal offered savings of up to 40% off Walt Disney World Resort hotels for four days only.

Travel dates for last year’s “Priceline Happiest Price on Earth Sale” were August 1, 2025 through October 11, 2025.

For reference, last year’s deal didn’t offer much in the way of advance details, causing me to be a bit, ahem, incredulous that this was an actual flash sale and not just a marketing repackaging of existing special offers.

“Priceline Happiest Price on Earth Sale” Analysis

My skepticism was misguided. While last year’s “Priceline Happiest Price on Earth Sale” was very hit or miss, we did end up finding some deep discounts, as did many others. Following much frustration with the delay not loading initially, we finally had success mid-morning. For many travel dates in September and October 2025, Priceline’s rates beat even the best WDW Annual Passholder rate.

However, there was not a consistent, across the board discount. Some dates and resorts were cheaper, others were more expensive than booking directly. This seems pretty par for the course with Priceline, which is why I’m relaying this information ahead of the 2026 sale.

The key is flexibility. Price out a range of dates and resorts, and don’t just search for one specific option. You might be able to snag a great deal if you’re flexible, as last year there definitely were several Deluxe & Deluxe Villa Resorts that were 40% off! I’m not sure how it compares to others’ experiences, but we were seeing pretty significantly discounted rates for late August and early September—much better than Disney’s “Stay Longer and Save More” promotion, which is the room only promo I’d qualify for. For example: Wilderness Lodge for $328, Polynesian Tower (Duo Studio) for $394.40, Swan and Dolphin as low as $186.00, Pop Century for $142.00, Art of Animation for $170.00. That’s less than I’m used to seeing. There were many others as well.

I looked just for fun this morning using September 20-24 as my dates and 3 hotels were cheaper through Priceline: Yacht Club ($484 v $537 direct via Disney), Coronado Springs ($228 v $254), Contemporary ($603 v $670). The rest were priced the same or direct through Disney was way better.

We did find Animal Kingdom Lodge for $388 per night for two adults staying 9/12-9/15. Pretty good discount, although I have occasionally seen better with Disney discounts over the last year.

Yacht Club Club Level Aug for a week is coming up as $600 less than direct through disney..seems like a great deal and free cancellation as well

Priceline is offering ~10% off at all listed resorts during my dates in early October. I don’t know how that compares to wdw direct pricing because it doesn’t matter. Not enough to even get me to look. Yacht Club for $900+/ night doesn’t feel like a “flash sale”

Well that just felt like a big scam. Logged onto Priceline just after midnight and they had the new promotion loaded in. Put in my August dates for Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah View. Rate quoted was 33% off. I went to check Disneys website to see if they were offering the new deal. Of course, Disneys reservation system goes down for maintenance. Go back to Priceline and enter my payment info and hit book. Brings me to a new screen after about 20 seconds and quotes me a new price only 11% off. No thanks. Will wait to see what Disney finally loads in overnight but man that felt gross.

Quick update: Tried again this morning. Disney website done updating. No new deals or pricing for my August Animal Kingdom Lodge stay. Checked Priceline one more time and the good price (33% off 4 nights Savannah view) was BACK. Would I get the bait and switch once more? I entered my payment info, hit book, and this time it worked. 33% off Savannah view for 4 nights in August vs 25% via stay more save more. I now have a Disney confirmation number. So for everyone who experienced nonsense when the deals dropped last night at midnight, try again!

What to Expect Going Forward

It’s possible that this year’s version of the Priceline “Happiest Price on Earth Sale” will be different. Maybe it’ll be mostly marketing for discounts that are already available from Walt Disney World. (Priceline does claim that they’re exclusive, though.)

Maybe it’s an exclusive deal by virtue of being released first on Priceline, and then it’ll become available for the general public via DisneyWorld.com and travel agents the following week. Perhaps Priceline negotiated a “bonus” 5% off for a limited time, and the special offer will be a precursor to another Disney+ deal, like the one listed above.

Maybe it’ll be only for August and September, and more closely align with the aforementioned Disney+ deal. It does seem noteworthy that the Disney+ deal launched back in early April for travel dates through August 15, 2026. That means it basically ends right as school goes back into session and off-season begins.

Walt Disney World has done similar deep discounts on rooms for Disney+ subscribers on several occasions, but never so far in advance. They’ve previously always been relatively last minute, which makes more sense to fill unsold room inventory.

Readers have asked whether we expect a similar special offer for mid-August and September 2026. It’s possible that we just got our answer via this Priceline flash sale. That’s exactly what happened last year.

Walt Disney World did not offer another last minute deal for the off-season after this. I still think that’s odd, but then again, I have zero visibility into how many rooms Priceline sold via this sale last year. It’s also possible that the existing Disney+ deal gives us a starting travel date for this Priceline flash sale: August 16, 2026.

Normally, the main way to score deep discounts from Priceline is via Express Deals on Walt Disney World Resorts. Sites like Priceline offer substantial savings, but the tradeoff is that you don’t know the name of the hotel until you pay. It’s a blind booking, but there are ways to reverse-engineer the hotel you’re booking (as explained in that article).

These blind bookings enable hotel chains, including Walt Disney World, to dump unsold inventory at the last minute while concealing from the general public that they’re unloading rooms at such a cheap rate. That might tarnish their brand, irritate guests who paid significantly more, or create an expectation among consumers of future sales.

That’s not what the upcoming Priceline flash sale is, though. This is transparent rates of up to 40% off Walt Disney World resorts. We just don’t know specifics yet.

What Would WDW Drop New Fall 2026 Deals?

Walt Disney World has likely been hit harder by the summer slowdown than previously anticipated. As covered in July 2026 is Walt Disney World’s Least Busy Month Since September 2021, crowds have been lower than even the ‘new normal’ this summer, hovering around off-season levels for the last couple of months.

Earlier this week, Comcast had its earnings call and revealed that Epic Universe Is Not Empty, But Universal Is Seeing “Softening” Summer Crowds. Comcast executives attributed this to higher fuel prices and weaker consumer sentiment.

Disney’s last earnings call was back in May, at which point CFO Hugh Johnston was asked specifically about the impact of the Iran war on bookings. He indicated that there had been no impact thus far, but that Disney is mindful of macro uncertainty, and is not immune from potential impacts, nor is Disney alone in that.

Nearly three months later, it’s possible things have changed for Disney. The last time gas prices spiked, there was a noticeable slowdown at Walt Disney World in the second half of summer 2022. I don’t want to fixate on this too much as it’s a subject we covered at length in Why the Iran War Could Cut Crowds at Walt Disney World & Negatively Impact Your 2026 Travel Plans.

Suffice to say, gas prices are above $4 and airfare has skyrocketed since the Iran war started. Domestic routes within the United States are up by roughly 15% to 35% compared to last year, while international flights face their own hikes and added fuel surcharges. Higher airfare costs could be make-or-break for some families, and this would only just be starting to show up in bookings and crowds since (unlike gasoline) people purchase airfare further in advance.

On top of that, rising fuel costs are fanning the flames on inflation yet again and consumers are feeling squeezed on the prices of everything. With that happening, Americans have to make tough decisions on discretionary spending, and some of them will cut travel.

It’s possible that Walt Disney World is now starting to feel this; its past projections about bookings for August through October were overly optimistic. If that’s the case, and occupancy is still below their target, they might need to revisit these months, offering better last-minute deals. Given the totality of the circumstances, this strikes us as highly plausible.

Ultimately, we’re really curious about this Priceline flash sale and what else might be on the horizon. We probably won’t have all of the answers we want on July 27, 2026, as the deal is likely to be similar to last year with a YMMV quality. But the Walt Disney Company’s next earnings call is August 5, 2026, and that’ll definitely offer insight.
