How to Register for Guardians of Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Preview Dates
Walt Disney World has sent out invitation emails and opened booking for Annual Passholder previews of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in Epcot. We have the details and how to register in case you’re one of the many APs who did not receive an email.
Reservations can be made by any eligible Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. You do NOT need the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind AP invitation email–all you need is the link, and fortunately, we have that!
You also will not need to make a separate Disney Park Pass reservation to enter Epcot on the day of your Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind preview, but applicable Walt Disney World AP blockout dates DO apply. (Fortunately, there are a ton of eligible dates, so that should be easy to work around.)
Here are Walt Disney World’s other terms and conditions for the preview: “Limit one preview registration per Passholder. Capacity and space are limited, and subject to availability. Registrations are valid only during specific preview dates and hours. Entry is not guaranteed. Advance registration required. Valid Walt Disney World Annual Pass Card and valid photo ID required at check-in.
“Preview registration and entry are non transferable and void if sold or otherwise transferred. Operating hours, activities and locations are subject to availability, closures and change or cancellation without notice or liability. This preview registration does not require an additional Disney Park Pass Theme Park reservation to enter EPCOT on the day of your preview. Valid Theme Park admission required for Park entry and subject to applicable pass blockouts.”
Here’s a look at the Cosmic Rewind AP Preview email:
For whatever reason, only some Annual Passholders received this invite. It’s not because they’re the only ones eligible…that’s just how Disney’s communications system seems to work. Our batting average for anything from Walt Disney World, whether it be paper mailers, magnets, or emails, is about .500, at best.
Sarah received this Guardians of the Galaxy AP Preview email, I did not.
To register for the FREE Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Annual Passholder Previews at Walt Disney World, do the following, IN THIS ORDER:

Note that this link is sometimes temperamental. You may have to log-out of My Disney Experience, log back in, etc., in order to get it to work.
Here is the process for registering, along with a couple of important tips to avoid further headaches…
While you’re in the waiting room, we STRONGLY recommend that you copy the queue ID. That’s your unique code, and will allow you to keep your place in the queue if something happens. With Disney’s new virtual waiting room system, you should always do this–not just for this Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind AP preview.
In fact, something did happen to me last time I was attempting to register for an AP preview: Stitch ate my page. I’ve had the same thing happen on a couple of occasions when trying to buy tickets for Disneyland special events (there have also been times when I’ve needed to move from my desktop to phone). In all of those instances, I simply copy and pasted that link into a new browser tab and picked up where I left off. Phew.
Since we’re trying to get this up as quickly as possible so it’s of maximum value to all of you, we’re posting this while still in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind AP preview queue ourselves. We’ll update this with screenshots and more specific advice, details, and info once we complete the registration process.
For now, above and below are (updated) screenshots from the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure preview registration process, which was pretty much identical to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge previews before it. We’ll update with Cosmic Rewind screenshots in just a minute… the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind AP registration progress.
Here’s the first screen you should expect to encounter after the wait is over.
Pretty standard info to click through. Be sure the registered guest list shows anyone you want to join you.
Unfortunately for those of you who are not Annual Passholders, the sheer volume of preview dates means general public soft openings are pretty unlikely. It’s always possible there will be some scattered in there, but we highly doubt it.
Walt Disney World hasn’t done soft openings for a major attraction in several years–it’s all been these controlled, pre-registered previews for select guests.
Finally, other terms from Walt Disney World, per the registration page:
Registration closes 24 hours prior to the start of the event or when event reaches capacity (whichever occurs first). Event experience and available offerings are subject to change without notice and advance registration is required. You have 5 minutes to complete your selection before availability is released. Once a request has been submitted, you will not be able to modify your reservation.
For each event, the calendar displays dates based on availability and the group size you entered.
How to Modify Your Selection BEFORE Completing Transaction
- To remove a Passholder from your group, please select “Back” to return to Step 1 and edit your Guest List.
- To remove an event from your list, please select “Release Reservation” under the Special Events section.
After finishing registration, here’s the message on the confirmation screen:
It’s save the galaxy time!
Join the Guardians of the Galaxy on this exciting chase to make the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration an awesome adventure!
As part of the EPCOT transformation, you’re invited to strap in, get your game face on and crank up your mixtape as you twist, turn and blast through an awesome intergalactic chase.
This family thrill attraction features the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the largest fully enclosed coasters in the world! A new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering—this coaster rotates 360 degrees so you can focus on the action.
As a special “thank you” to our Annual Passholder family, this is your chance to get a sneak peek on select days in May 2022.

Event is now full. I didn’t get in.
THANK YOU, AGAIN! I got your email well before Disneys came in…and I GOT IN THE PREVIEW! May 16th at 12-12:30pm. My family and I greatly appreciate you! You helped us for the Remy AP preview which we never got Disneys email for that one! You are the best…thanks again!
Tom!!! I am so thankful for you (and Sarah)…I’m in the queue now, and would never have had the chance bc still no email from Disney. Appreciate all the details you share. ;0)
Any idea at what time we can enter the park if we got to register? I know it says we don’t need a park reservation but worried we arrive early to be stopped at the gate. Thanks in advance
I’m glad you said we don’t need a park reservation because Epcot is booked solid and we don’t have one, even though we have a preview registration. With no confirmation email though.
I think I got registered but I forgot to print a confirmation. I can’t find it in my upcoming events or anything. Does that mean my registration didn’t go through? I tried registering again and it says I can’t because I may already have a reservation or I don’t qualify (I’m an AP & didn’t get that error when I first tried)
Check your email, mine went to junk.
We had to call the AP line to get confirmation. Never got the email.
One of the reasons why this is the best Disney blog.
What about a preview for DVC members?!
That was covered yesterday in this post: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/guardians-galaxy-cosmic-rewind-opening-date-epcot/
I believe registration is now full.
Thanks to you Tom I just got one for the 9th! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I didn’t get a confirmation email after submitting my time, should I be worried? I already closed the screen 🙁
Same. No confirmation and it won’t let you screen shot in incognito mode.
I didn’t get a confirmation email either. I’m hoping it’s coming
We called the AP line to confirm.
Thank you!! I got your newsletter email and was able to register!! (I didn’t get Disney’s email) So happy!!
Thanks. We snagged one. We went to Ratatouille as well. I’m enjoying that they capped the number of passholders this year (even though we need one more pass for a family member who just moved down) it seems like these have been easier to snag than in the past.
How long before they’ll ask a fee for those previews? It’s a sort of Individual Lightbing Lane, why not charge $15 or $20 for it?
You know, I knew they would pull something like this and set my alarm…and of course I set it for an hour later than I meant to on accident. I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed but I doubt there will be anything left by the time I get through. So it goes…
Whomp whomp… Previews start 2 days after we come back home to Texas. BUT this is an excellent tutorial. Thanks, Tom!
Are there any dates in April or just the dates you listed above? We’re going to be there from April 20-26, wanted to see if it’s worth it to sit in queue.
Thank you Tom!
Followed your instructions and was able to register no problem.
we got to do new fantasyland in an unannounced soft open back in 2012. probably one of the last times they ever did them.
Got it!!! Sunday, May 8th! Woo hoo! Thank you Tom. Never got the email.
…. although I thought I grabbed the 7th, on my birthday, not the 8th on Mother’s Day. Luckily my wife wants to do this one too.
Be sure to check your junk/spam folder. It says you need printed confirmation for entry. It might not be needed due to magic bands and such but I couldn’t find it on my Disney experience. The confirmation email states: Please note: Additional details about check-in locations will be emailed to you 3 to 5 business days before the event. There is a chance you might get some type of evidence soon if the confirmation is lost. Good luck!!
This was VERY helpful – thank you! I’m not sure why they decided not to list the dates of the previews (both DVC and AP) in advance, but this morning I got all the way through to the reservation page for DVC only to discover that it didn’t work for my travel dates. I was about to try with the AP previews, but I saw from your screenshots that those dates don’t work either. Oh well!
Yay! So happy I saw this because I didn’t get an email. I was able to register!! Woohoo!!
