Open & Closed Restaurants at Disney World (2024)
This list of open & closed restaurants at Walt Disney World covers what’s operating in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and resort hotels. We update this regularly, with info on what’s coming soon, newly reopened, temporarily closing, and more as of 2024.
The good news is that the vast majority of noteworthy dining options at Walt Disney World have now reopened. This includes Signature Restaurants, hidden gem counter service spots, and most buffets. On top of that, table service restaurants started filling more tables, improving their efficiency, and seating more guests per day.
On another positive note, Walt Disney World’s culinary teams aren’t quite as understaffed as they were the last two years. This is one of the big reasons why restaurants are able to fill more tables and increase their capacity. The same is also true at character dining experiences, where tables were removed to allow more clearance between characters and guests. That’s good news for those trying to score Advance Dining Reservations or walk-up availability.
Most Advance Dining Reservations are still more competitive than pre-closure, but many ADRs are getting easier to book. Some are still elusive, especially for larger parties. As such, it’s recommended that you book bright and early 60 days beforehand–and even that might not be good enough. These include Story Book Dining at Artist Point, Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Space 220 Restaurant, California Grill, and a handful of other locations.
If you don’t make ADRs that far in advance, check out our Top 10 Tips for Difficult ADRs at Walt Disney World. With the exception of new or newly-reopened restaurants, we make the vast majority of our ADRs only a few days in advance (or even the same-day). This covers some of our hacks for reserving restaurants on shorter notice.
In more “mixed” news, the Disney Dining Plan is now back for 2024. This is great for Walt Disney World fans who love that pre-paid meal plan, but it’ll also increase demand for table service restaurants. The positive of this is that it could be another catalyst for Walt Disney World to restore missing meal services or bring back some of the remaining restaurants that are still closed. The negative of it is that ADRs could once again become more competitive.
With that out of the way, let’s start with some other updates…
Coming Soon
- Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs (BoardWalk) – Winter 2024
- Cake Bake Shop (BoardWalk) – Spring 2024
- Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge (Magic Kingdom) – TBD
Recently Opened
- EET by Maneet Chauhan (Disney Springs)
- Summer House on the Lake (Disney Springs)
Permanently Closed
- ESPN Club (BoardWalk)
- Big River Grille & Brewing Works (BoardWalk)
- Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (Polynesian)
Current Closures
Magic Kingdom
- Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn
- Tomorrowland Terrace
Both of these have been seasonal for the last decade-plus, but neither have operated at all in the last 4 years. Normally, these would open for the weeks around peak season dates. That could happen for Spring Break 2024, but we’d be surprised. The week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is more likely, but even that’s a stretch. Perhaps if Pecos Bills closes for transformation into Tiana’s Palace? Basically, who knows.Â
EPCOT
- Restaurant Marrakesh
Located deep in World Showcase’s Morocco pavilion, Restaurant Marrakesh is used as a free lounge during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Realistically, it probably won’t open until mid-2024 and maybe not even then.
Our expectation is that, whenever it does return, it’ll be a different concept. Disney took ownership of the Morocco pavilion a few years ago, and has quietly changed a lot since then. Turning this into Aladdin character dining to increase its popularity makes too much sense for Walt Disney World not to do it.
Resort Restaurants
- 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)
- Garden View Tea Room (Grand Floridian)
- Cape Town Lounge & Wine Bar (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Grand Floridian is currently in the midst of a large-scale reimagining, and this is expected to encompass 1900 Park Fare and the Garden View Tea Room. That project has now moved into the main building, with work being done on the lobby. As such, we do not expect either 1900 Park Fare or Garden View Tea Room to return until at least Spring 2024. (And again, that’s at the earliest.)
Missing Meals
- Be Our Guest Restaurant – Breakfast
- Be Our Guest Restaurant – Counter Service Lunch
- Brunch at California Grill
- Plaza Restaurant – Breakfast
- Trattoria al Forno – Bon Voyage Character Breakfast
Be Our Guest Restaurant is still doing its prix fixe dinner rather than 3 distinct meals. However, its popularity has decreased dramatically, so we’re optimistic that it might return to normal at some point in 2024.
While open, Trattoria al Forno is doing a standard breakfast rather than its Bon Voyage Character Dining Experience. The major impediment to this returning and other character meals extending their hours is (still) staffing shortages. Fortunately, Cast Member morale is starting to improve and turnover is decreasing, so Walt Disney World should finally be able to hire and retain enough Cast Members to restore operational normalcy.
This is also why, for example, breakfast has been so slow to return to restaurants all around Walt Disney World. There’s more than enough demand to sell out of ADRs for all three meals well in advance–Disney is not voluntarily leaving money on the table; they don’t have enough Cast Members to work the shifts necessary to open for breakfast and lunch.
With all of that out of the way, here are the restaurants that are open at Walt Disney World…

Thanks! Anyone know if Cape May Cafe is open? Disney website says “unavailable” and then Yelp has open times with hours “updated”
No, it’s not open because the BC isn’t open. Just the BCV.
I am so irritated right now. There is not one single place in MK that you can get breakfast now. You can get breakfast desert items in a couple of places but no breakfast; not sit down or quick service. Plaza and BOG are open but they closed down the breakfast and Crystal palace is closed. I can understand why they stopped serving breakfasts where the parks don;t open until 10 or 11 but MK opens at 9. Wish they would hurry and do somethging about this.
When will crystal palace open? Can’t they do it family style..
Try searching for sci-fi dine in theater specifically in the my Disney experience app. That’s what I did and got a reservation about 30 days out. It didn’t automatically pop up but once I searched it for my date then it did. It was our first time eating there and it was our favorite part of the day!
It might be worth noting that the outdoor lounge at the Brown Derby is open, but only for drinks. Prioir to the pandemic, you could order food as well, though the menu was smaill and not the same as the full restaurant menu. Really a disappointment for us, as it is a favoirte spot for lunch and dinner, but also it is an outside venue which i will only do for the most part at this time.
Any word on when Victoria and Albert’s will open?
Exactly! That’s what I’m dying to know. Ohana is truly the reason I love Disney so much!!!!
I didn’t see Chefs de France on either list.
When will ohana open!!!!!
Exactly! That’s what I’m dying to know. Ohana is truly the reason I love Disney so much!!!!
It’s surely not going to open until after the Polynesian Resort reopens for business. So probably next summer at the earliest.
Thanks for the response. Im glad it is opening soon
Tom – Thanks for all the up-to-date info that you provide! I’ve not been able to see any time slots for restaurants in Hollywood Studios except for Brown Derby and Hollywood & Vine at 60 days out for over two weeks. Is there some trick needed to find time slots at the other open restaurants? I really won’t be at the parks until Dec 20th. But, Oct 20th is quickly approaching and I’ve not been able to validate that the restaurants in HS will have anything open to plan for….
Steven, if you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you can book advanced dining reservations 60 days out plus the number of days of your stay up to 10 days. Be sure to link your resort to your Disney account first. I was able to book an ADR for Oga’s Cantina 63 days out. Hollywood & Vine is very popular right now due to Minnie’s Seasonal Dining (Halloween and upcoming Christmas). If you’re not staying at a Disney Resort, be up by 5:45 AM as that is the time you can make an ADR at the 60 day mark. Keep checking as people are always changing their plans and canceling ADR’s. A good resource is MouseDining.com. You’ll need to set up an account and then you can set alerts for your preferred restaurant and time. They’ll send you an email or text when it becomes available. I have used it before and it really works. Good luck!
Biergarten is a buffet and open so why couldn’t Tusker House open with the modified characters (All fur characters) like they are planning at Chef Mickey?? Tusker House is one of our favorites, not just because of the guava juice, but because of the variety offered with the traditional breakfast items plus the African inspired dishes for those wanting to try something different. We always used it as a brunch spot after doing the safari. Really hope they are able to implement something similar to what they are doing at Chef Mickeys by late Jan 2021.
Biergarten is a buffet but it is not open as one right now. They are serving food on platters family style. Biergarten has a much more limited buffet menu than Tusker normally; I am not sure if this is why Tusker has not reopened (using the same approach as Biergarten) or not.
Thank you so much for keep us well informed on the culinary options. I do hope that Lotus Blossom Cafe opens before we visit in December. It is our favorite quick service at Epcot.
Tusker House is actually one of our favorites for breakfast and one of the most allergy-friendly restaurants in WDW. Delicious too 🙂 Huge loss for us. Hopefully it’s back up by the time we go.
I really appreciate this list. Would you consider doing a similar one for the resorts for those of us who like to resort hop and Disney Springs – PLEASE!
Trying to work out the details fornour December trip and I feel like I am behind the eight ball per se.
Thank you.
I agree !!! I would love to hear when and if All Stars are going to open !!! Love All Stars Music !
Yes, please! Really sad that no restaurants are open at AKL Jambo House.
Connie, only one floor (maybe the sixth floor too – DVC Concierge villas without Concierge trappings) is open at Jambo House and four floors are closed. It’s not very cost efffective to open up restaurants where there are very few guests.
Will Cinderella’s Royal Table open back up for Breakfast?
Is there anywhere in any of the parks to get breakfast items besides Starbucks?
Thanks for all your information, we really appreciate the thorough reviews & using your experiences to plan our many times rescheduled November trip.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that Le Halles in France is open. It’s our favorite QS place in Epcot.
Hi
Thank you for your information to me it was extremely helpful. I am very disappointed in the Epcot restaurants. Let’s face it, I go for the food. for annual pass holders this is a sad turn of events!! Thank you again.
Praying more of the restaurants and attractions shows parades open soon.
Hi Tom, can you confirm that Sci-Fi is indeed one of the restaurants reopening?? There is NO availabilty showing for any searchable dates???? Thanks!
I can’t get in either. I have been trying for a month. I guess they just have so few seats available.
I’ve been trying to find slots for Sci Fi as well. I’ve not seen a time slot for any size group or any time from 1 to 60 days out from the present day. I’ve been trying for over two weeks. I can’t believe that there aren’t some slots that are open for at least the first few hours of the 60th day out.
Les Vins des Chefs de France? I didn’t see it. Gotta get that grey goose slushy!
