Disney Cool Weather Scarf/Bag Ideas and Giveaway!
I’m back with another look at some Disney styles, this time with some options for cooler weather and a giveaway of another Harveys bag! I want to start by saying thank you for the positive response to my “New Outfits for Disney” post! I was really surprised by how many people read the last post, so I just want to say I really appreciate your readership.
We are heading to Disneyland tonight and the temperature is supposed to be in the low 60s. The last post focused more on what to wear in warmer weather, but I get cold easily, and want to look at cooler weather options and also festive ideas for upcoming celebrations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. One of the best options for cooler nights and festivities in Disneyland is scarves.
I love wearing scarves during the colder months because they are easy to pack, practical to wear, and can add specific Disney flare to regular outfits. Scarves are also nice because you can wait to put them on until it’s colder at night, take them off if you are too hot, and trade them amongst friends.
Here are some ideas:
Season of the Force starts Monday at Disneyland, and I’m thinking about what ways I can infuse my outfits with Star Wars so they fit the celebration. I love my R2-D2 dress above, but it’s too cold in California to wear that now. I have been looking for accessories to wear in colder temperatures that fit the theme, and scarves are perfect.
Here are some options that I like:
- Star Wars R2D2 Viscose Scarf – This scarf would give personality to a solid blue, black, or grey outfit.
- Star Wars VII Vs. Foil Print Infinity Viscose Soft Scarf – The foil print scarf would look awesome with a black top or any solid color jacket.
- Polka Dot “Minnie Mouse” Infinity Loop Scarf – This scarf is an very inexpensive, fun way to add a hint of Minnie Mouse to any outfit. The scarf is very thin and great for cool weather but not to be worn for warmth frigid temperatures.
- Disney Lilo & Stitch Grey Scarf – I’m a huge Stitch fan and think this is such a cute scarf!
During the colder months, I like to layer my clothing. I typically throw scarves, sweaters and/or jackets into a backpack or messenger bag. I already have several bags and will share some in a later post, but I came across a cute Inside Out (great price!) and Little Mermaid Backpack on Amazon and thought I would share now:
I’m still in the process of deciding which other ones I will get. I’ll make sure to post in our “Outfit of the Day Thread” over on the Disney Tourist Blog Discussion Forums, so keep tabs there if you are interested.

YOUR THOUGHTS…
What did you think of these scarves? Any recommendations for scarves or other cooler weather accessories? Please share thoughts or questions in the comments.
I was definitely inspired to start wearing dresses to the theme parks after reading some of your posts, Sarah! Now, I’m definitely going to look into some Disney-inspired scarfs to collect for those cooler evenings in the parks.
Hi Sarah,
We are about to head to WDW for our first winter visit. I’ve been buying light weight leggings, long T-shirts and a sweatshirt or cardigan for layering. However, I’m looking at the weather in Orlando right now and it’s still in the high 80’s, so I’m thinking all my plans need to be pretty fluid as shorts may still be needed! I typically wear crocs in the summer/fall (not for style, but for comfort and rainy days). I just purchased a pair of Crocs mammoth flats and really like them so far. They look great with leggings and are super comfortable. Thanks for the helpful tips and great blog!
I love that R2-D2 scarf! I might just have to buy it for myself. Great post. 🙂
I always pack a jacket or sweater in my backpack when I go to Disney during colder months. I also pack a scarf, hat, and gloves. As long as my neck and hands are warm I’m usually ok! I also bring a small fleece blanket in my bag to sit on for a parade or wrap around me if I get too cold.
Thanks for info! I love wearing scarfs too!
Something most of us don’t think about anymore are UNDERSHIRTS. Wearing even just a tank or a snug tee under your shirt, tucked into your pants, helps keep the warmth in when you know you’ll be in and out of the cold.
Especially helpful if you have little kids who are ALWAYS throwing off their jackets.
Hi Sarah! Thanks for the great outfit ideas 🙂 would love a post on shoes to wear with your cute outfits, shopping ideas in the parks, and maybe ideas for girl trip activities in the parks? (Spa, pools, shopping, etc). Love reading your posts – gives a different viewpoint from Tom (whos posts I also love reading)
I get cold extremely easily too, especially in air conditioned restaurants or other buildings. I have to carry around either a windbreaker or a cardigan with me – but I especially love scarves, and the ones you picked are so cute!
I Wear leggings under my jeans for layering and also knee high boots
I love layering a lightweight hoodie with a Disney sweatshirt and letting the hood peek out!
I love layering scarves with sweaters, it’s my favorite thing in winter. I like solid tops with patterned scarves so I really like the R2D2 Viscose Scarf.
I am LOVING that R2D2 scarf!! I’m going to Disneyland next week and seriously considering ordering it. Thanks for the great tips!
I love all of these tips – especially that minnie mouse scarf :). We are heading to Anaheim in a month and I am looking forward to LAYERING in the parks :).
Those scarves are awesome! I keep seeing cute scarves in the stores and thinking that I need to learn how add them to my wardrobe, Though I suppose I would need at least one to start with to figure out just how to wear them, hmm….
I love layers as well, scarves and leggings are always a great choice. Sometimes a long bright tank underneath everything makes a big difference.
At my age…scarves have become a staple to my wardrobe. Having my neck stay warm makes all the difference.
I love scarves! I recently bought a pastel pink Disney one on ebay, the design is a busy filigree with tons of hidden mickeys. I love that its not obviously Disney, but if you looked closely you’d notice.
I’ve done Disneyland Paris in February when it was very cold – so had to be totally wrapped up, which kind of killed my outfit plans. I made sure to put my Minnie ears on over my woolly hat though!
Oh, was also going to say that @MinnieStyle on instagram/ #minniestyle is great for accessories and styling inspiration.
Christmas gifts…check. Thank you!
I love adding leggings and long sleeve shirts under dresses that have short/no sleeves to be able to wear them year round!
OK, you may have just helped me find a Christmas gift for my sister, in that R2-D2 scarf…
